Merrill worked at Brown’s. Vernon called tonight. He has very busy year. World Series started. More girls laid off at shop.

Went to Kamargo’s at noon to see about stove contract. Got letter from Vern. Merrill worked at Brown’s. Shorty Hill came home from hospital yesterday.

Got 2 new dresses at Sears. $19.00. Riders got groceries after work. Work 8-4 next week also. Have this week.

Took car to Gouverneur to get windshield wiper fixed. All new one $8.00. Beautiful day. Evelyn Knapp married today. Jim stayed all night with Marty. Merrill has worked all week at Philadelphia.

Beautiful day. We went out home for dinner. Juanita’s mother, father, & sister, were there before leaving 500 mile to live. [?] Grandpa Haggerty not too good.

Nice day & evening. Not many girls working. Myrtle rode home tonight. Alex Duff had eye removed. I went to stork shower for Rosie Daberic at Anna Jario’s. Very nice time.

Rebekah’s installation about 75 there. Ate in dining room for first. Washed. Painted peg board. Grand day.

Mr. Gleason of Theresa called on survey for Theresa churches. We didn’t go to church. Art, Doris, & kids, were here in evening.

I took riders in today. Signed up for unemployment insurance. Merrill took 2 calves to Lowville. Bought manure spreader from Guy Huntley. $300.00.

Mother Tryon, Elmer, Melba, & Ronnie got us up this morning. Were on their way home from Carl’s. Merrill went to auction at Winks.

Nice day. We went to Wolcott. Vern went with us. Had dinner at Mother Tryon’s. Went over to Elmer & Melba’s. Louie Rappole died this morning. Age 72.

Merrill & I went with Rebekah’s & IOOF to Rappole’s. Washed. Jim didn’t go to school. Cleaned back room upstairs.

Merrill started plowing pasture by barn. I went to Louie Rappole’s’ funeral. Went to Gouverneur but they couldn’t fix car today.

I went to city to sign unemployment. Myrtle Duff rode out. Alex not good. I went to Rebekah’s. Only 19 there. Got control for stove. Baked pies, cake, & cookies.

Cold today. Myrtle Duff & I went to Mercy Hospital after Alex. He’s been there 3 weeks. Wrote Vern. Merrill worked at Howard’s barn.

Merrill worked at Viola Hall’s putting on doors. Jim went to recreation night. Walter VanTassel came home with him. Kept cows in tonight for first.

Merrill finished doors at Halls. Took Alex & Myrtle Duff to Dr. Sickes. Alex has 2nd treatment to remove skin cancer on face. Merrill got shoes & tool box. Washed clothes. Merrill went to lodge.

Got letter from Mom. Have all had flu. Shellacked stair steps. I went to W.S.C.S. at Elsie Bacon’s. 16 there. Baked in evening. Sent birthday card to Dad Tryon.
