We all went to church. Planted oats in PM. nice day.

Finished springs work. Wet year. No school. Washed & ironed some. Boys & I went to city. Got Vern 2 pair shoes size 10. Jim got cap. Merrill helped Shorty Hill on Pollock’s garage. Merrill & Vernon finished planting oats. We planted garden in evening.

I took calf to sale at Gouverneur. Merrill helped Shorty Hill today.

Vi & I went to city. Got pulsator fixed. Merrill helped Shorty Hill. I went to Grange. Margaret P. cut foot.

Merrill helped Shorty. Finished ironing. Rained in PM. Another bad accident on Philadelphia curve. 1 killed, 1 in hospital. I went to Home Bureau at Helen’s. Program planning.

Muggy. Merrill helped Shorty Hill. Merrill & I went to Graves in evening. Had nice time. Hazel’s birthday was yesterday.

Vernon made rotary lawn mower & mowed lawns. We all went up to Watts in evening. Wilma had party. Nice time. Merrill has helped Hall all week.

Boys went to Sunday School. Merrill & I very sleepy. Agnes Miller married today. Drove over town to see new blinker light.

Washed & ironed. Merrill went to lodge.

Garden is all up good. Baked & cleaned.

I went to lodge in PM. Called Mrs. Pilbeam about last W.S.C.S. meeting. Vi & I went up to see Jenny Delles in PM. I took her cake.

Mrs. Hagan, Helen, Carl, & kids were here in evening. She has sold them the farm. We went out to give blood for Jenny Delles. Wouldn’t take mine.

Wrote mom. Sent card to Jenny & sympathy card to Hattie McKeever. Merrill helped Hill at Clear Lake. Vern had first test today.

4-H rally day. Boys didn’t go. Merrill worked at Clear Lake again today. Has helped Hill all week.

Children’s day. We all went to church. Very nice. Church was full. Aunt Maude, Lila, & girls were here in PM.

Vi, Vern, & I, took hens up to Smith’s in PM. Got myself white shoes, & cloth for dress. Merrill went to lodge. Started dress.

Merrill & I went out home for dinner. We went down to Uncle Lloyd’s also. Merrill & I went with Lois & Carroll to lodge at Mills.

Mother’s birthday. (60 years) Washed clothes. Washed kitchen curtains. I went to Grange in evening. Vern went to Sunday School meeting.

Cloudy. Rained in morning. Merrill washed car. Vernon finished his chair at school. Jim only had to go to school awhile in morning.

Uncle Lloyd & Aunt Esther were here for dinner. Bought our horse “Tom” $60.00.

We went out to Adams. Looked at farm at Belleville. Very hot.

Father’s day. We all went to church. Went to look at Horeth farm. We all liked it so much. Hot. Merrill mowed hay.

Hot. Merrill & I went out to Timmerman’s to see about farm. Went to Graduation in evening. Vern got $5.00 award for most outstanding pupil & $2.50 shop prize.

Vernon got Junior drivers permit. $5.10. Vernon & I went to city. I went to Dr. Roberts for check up. We went to Adams at night. Got strawberries.

Grand day. Cool. I went up to hospital & had blood count taken. Went to lodge in evening.

Rained in evening. Merrill baled hay. Got letter from Mother Tryon. Baked pies, cakes, & cookies.

Gave myself a perm. Merrill got kitchen scales at Mills. $5.65. Took Vernon over town to deliver chickens.

Very warm. Washed clothes. Had 4-H meeting here in evening. Assistant 4-H leader was present. Went on tour. took pictures.

Hot today. I have horrid headache all day. Drove out to Adams in evening to see Mr. Hungerford.

Washed & ironed. Hot. Merrill went to city in AM to see about getting farm loan.

Uncle Ed was here. Aunt Edna isn’t too good. Rained in evening. I went to see Dr. Roberts. Gave me B-12 shot & iron pills. Have to go back 3 more times. I helped at Father & Son banquet in dining room. Only 50 out.

Warm & humid. Drawed hay all day. Wrote Mom.

Hot & windy. Drawed hay all day. Mr. & Mrs. Cilley & twin boys (3 years old) were here in evening. Rained in evening.

Drawed hay most of day. Very hot. Jack & Ethel Tousley’s baby boy died this PM. I went out to doctors in PM for shot. 2nd one.

We worked all day. Didn’t do anything special for the 4th.

We went up to Hall’s camp. Very nice up there & grand day for driving.

Vernon made 2 lawn chairs for Laurence & Jean [Hanson]. Rained hard most of day. 3 accidents in Philadelphia. One on overhead & two on death curve. Merrill & I went over town in evening & delivered P.N.G. gifts.

I went out to doctors for 3rd shot. Stopped at farm at Mills to see if it had been sold yet. Was sick in evening.

Fresh Airs arrive. Helen came for 2 weeks for her 5th visit with us. Age 13 1/2 years. She first came in 1948. I have had horrid headache all day.

Uncle Len, Betty, Grandpa, Mom, Mrs. Elgin (Williams) Black, Mrs. James (Olive) Bowman & son Elgin B, & Mr. & Mrs. David (Leah) Stanley came for supper. Mom, Leah, & Dave, stayed here all night.

Jim, Helen, & I took Mom home & then came back to the doctor (Roberts) in PM. Last visit with him. Got letter OK ing our loan from F.H.A.

Drawed hay all day. Finished filling big mow. Nice day. Merrill & boys got hair cuts.

4-H picnic at Camp Wabassa. Kind of cool. All the 4-H boys present.

We went to city & out to Adams. Vernon didn’t go.

Went to city & to Adams to see about farm.

Did big washing. Ironed in evening. Made doughnuts. Helen went to Watertown with soldiers wife to park doings.

Hot. Finished filling big mow. Alice Carr’s car broke down. I took them to Antwerp. Helen finished ironing. Helen & Jane were here.

Hot. Helen & I went with P.N.Grands to Caird’s. I went with Elsie. Started filling over cows with hay. Got letter from Jean H.

Very hot. Drawed hay all day. Mr. & Mrs. Ed Bennett came to see us about their farm.

We all went to Uncle Len’s for dinner. took Betty’s roosters up to her. Had nice visit.
