I went with Patricia Riley from Wisconsin on church advertising project from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Cooler today.

Finished haying today. Adlai Stevenson won Democratic nomination last night. Painter starting painting barns. Mr. Miles Whitewashed barn.

We went to Bill & Vi’s camp for picnic dinner. Was over to Lila’s few minutes. Saw Caroline Shelmidine. Bishops were there also. Had nice time.

Washed & ironed. Froze beans. I went over to Vi’s in PM.

Washed kitchen woodwork. We moved freezer up in kitchen from cellar. Worked over at church getting things set for social.

Ice cream social at church. Antwerp community band played. Good crowd. Made $35.00. I worked PM to evening. We all went to social.

Vi & I went to city. Got Merrill bug & snow shield for car. Merrill helped Shorty Hill at Mills.

Vern made cupboard for kitchen & painted it. Feel lazy today. Merrill worked at Mills.

Had 2nd Haggerty reunion here. 99 for dinner & 30 for supper. Grand day & grand time. Vickie stayed.

Merrill combined last of 20 acres. Very hot. Vickie went home with Bill & Vi when they went to camp. Finished painting buildings.

Raining hard for first time in ages. Merrill & I went to Sgt. & Mrs. Earline Crump, William Angill wedding at Chaumount.

Merrill & I went to city. Got agitator for washing machine. $6.50. Did huge washing & some ironing. Got boys pants & socks. Merrill paid for lime. $61.00.

Grand day. Waxed kitchen floor. Made more pickles. Baked cakes & cookies.

Got chickens ready to freeze. Lula Rappole’s 41st anniversary. I made them cake. Ice cream social. I worked. Merrill finished combining at Casses. Made $30.00 on ice cream social. Jim Madison’s birthday.

Real warm. Put 12 chickens in freezer. Got letter from Carl today. First since March. He’s in Camp Gordon, Georgia.

Raining. Washed out boys clothes. Vernon got hair cut. Tired today for some reason.

Took boys out to Ken & Eleanor’s to stay. Stopped up home. Dad & Mom ready to give up farm.

Washed & ironed. Nice day but damp. Teddy is lonesome for boys. Merrill & I went up to Don & Juanita’s in evening. 29 miles up there.

Merrill & I went to city. Took 24 of Vernon’s White Rock roosters to Smith’s @ $.28. $28.28. Got bushel of peaches.

Froze peaches. made pickles. Vi & I went to ice cream social (Stars) Merrill went over town.

Jimmy & I went on Juvenile Grange picnic to Sylvia Lake. 25 grangers went. Had nice time. Very hot. Vi & Martha were here in evening.

We went out home after Vernon. Cheryl went with us. Was over to Kiechle’s in evening awhile. Merrill took pump home.

Canned pickles & tomatoes from garden. Very not. Rained in evening. Froze corn. Got some at Aunt Maude’s.
