Had a furnace fire. Pauline’s didn’t come. Drove up to Cocaign’s in PM to see boys about Grange. Sunday School picnic at Grasse Point.

We all went out to Ken & Eleanor’s for dinner. Took him mowing machine. Got 2 pigs. 2 @ $15.00. Were at Dad’s

Don Lawler had bad accident in front of McLoad’s. 150 stitches in face. Merrill started baling. Was to green. Jim & I went to Grange.

We stayed home today. Had fried chicken for first of Vernon’s chickens. Picnic dinner in back yard. Rained hard in PM & evening. Very quiet enjoyable day.

Betty Haggerty is in hospital. Had operation today. Aunt Maude saw Marg & Aunt Esther at city. Uncle Ray & Aunt Maude were here. Gave myself Lilt permanent.

Aunt Maude & I went to city. I went to hospital to see Ivan. Couldn’t see Betty. Merrill & I went to party at Leah’s for Art & Beulah.

IOOF & Rebekah picnic at Cedar Point. We all went. Had a nice time. About 35 there. We all went to church.

Got letter from Carl. He is on his way home from Korea. I went to Juvenile Grange practice. Washed & ironed. Helped draw hay in PM until it started raining. Drawed first hay this year.

Mother & Dad Tryon, Melba & Elmer were here for supper. Elmer is home on furlough. Beulah C. has another baby boy. She is very sick.

Got letter from Mom. Was over to Beulah’s. Feel lazy today. Sent order to Spiegels & sent pictures. Beulah called to say Helen Ramos wasn’t coming. Carl Hall enters Army. Beulah Hall’s birthday.

Fresh Air’s arrive. Seems funny not to have one this year. Raked, baled, & drawed hay. Raining hard in evening.

Terrible thunder showers this morning. We went out home. Merrill took Dad to Adams. We mowed yards. They haven’t found any trace of Jack Shelmedine yet.

Nice day after all the rain. Cool. Boys & I went huckleberrying. Vi, & Jessie K. & Martha went too.

Nice day. Drawed quite a lot of hay. Worked until 10:00 PM drawing hay. Rained again in evening. Froze some peas.

Washed & ironed. Baked pies & cakes. Painted front porch 2nd coat. Bolts in baler broke so Merrill had to go to Mills for them. Quite warm.

Another real warm day. Got 6 chickens ready for freezer. Waxed kitchen & bedroom floors. Merrill went to Mills again for links for baler. Killed 4 chickens in evening.

Stanley Party. Not many here but had $38.00 order. Made $6.00 for Home Bureau. Drawed hay. Awfully hot.
