We all went to church . Drove out to Adams after church to see Merrill’s folks. Nobody at home but his mother. Stopped at Uncle Berle’s.

Washed & ironed. Merrill went to Lodge. Went over to Vi’s in PM to choose Circles in W.S.C.S..

W.S.C.S. at Elsie Bacon’s but I didn’t go. Merrill made rubber tired wheel barrow. Barn Dance for 4-H. Mrs. Hagan & boys were over. Anthony Carnavale is missing. Was over town until 1:00 PM.

Cleaned up stairs. Painted most of small bedroom. They found Anthony Carnavale drowned. Boys & I went to Grange.

Painted ceiling upstairs. Merrill helped. Cleaned floors also. First grade went in a body to see Anthony from school. Very warm.

Anthony’s funeral. Finished cleaning upstairs.

Baked. Merrill & I went to city after groceries.

Children’s Day at church. We all went. Vern had part. Was over to Aunt Lil Walts. Was over to Lila’s but she was away.

Washed & ironed. Merrill went to Lodge. Marge Jones & family were here in evening. Also Helen & kids.

Dairyland Festival Parade. Jimmy & I went with Les Hall’s. Vi & Martha went too. Vern was sick & couldn’t go to school. Gave myself Toni Wave.

I went to Lodge.Vi Mower’s was installed as District Deputy President. Vi, Marge, Danny & I went to city after turkey & groceries for supper.

Chamber of Commerce supper. Home Bureau made $20.25. I worked in dining room. Mom called. They can’t come out Sunday.

Merrill & I went to city to see Kessel. Was up to Aunt Edna’s. I got new dress.

Merrill went out after Kessel but didn’t find him. Aunt Keitha & Uncle Earl’s were here for supper. They were on the way home from the mountains. Went for a ride. Cold.

Mom’s birthday. Made her a pocketbook. We went out home for dinner & helped them get work done. Stopped to see Uncle Berle. He has a new car. He had poor spill.

Mom called. Said Uncle Charlie Hanson is dead. Funeral tomorrow. Merrill used baler for first. Jim cut his head. Kessel, Paul, Arlene & Richard, were here for dinner. I went to Grange.

Merrill & I went to Uncle Charlie’s funeral. Dad went. Ken’s car broke down. Boys had last tests. Vern got 100 on Social Studies Regents.

Kind of tired today. Boys got home early. Merrill used baler. We went to ice cream social at church in evening. Cool.

Very hot. Merrill & I went to city for groceries. Last day of school. Boys passed. Vern got highest average for boys in his room. Vern went to Band banquet at Pine Lodge.

Martha has been here all day. Stayed all night. Vi went to Auburn with Lula R. Rained. Very muggy. We went back to woods in evening. Carl landed in Korea.

Merrill went after Kessel. Took him to Adams for his clothes. Bill & Vi came after Martha. Aunt Maude was over.

Kessel started work. Washed & ironed. Merrill went to Lodge. Boys & I went to graduation. Vern won $2.50 award for 91 % average in 7th & 8th grade. Boys prize.

Finished ironing. Windy. About 500 bales of hay in. Called Mom. She is feeling better. Helen Kiechle’s cousin drowned at Massena last night. W.S.C.S. meeting at church but I forgot about it.

Lodge. Losing side in contest put on supper for winning side. Last meeting before September.

Started cleaning dining room. Wrote Mom. War news in Korea not so good.

Was over to Mrs. Hagan’s. Went to locker after meat. Quite warm. Washed woodwork in dining room.

Painted dining room ceiling & woodwork. Got letter from Mom saying Don & Juanita were getting married this summer.

Awfully cold last night. Boys & I went to church. Windy, cold, & cloudy today. Mrs. Rice had bad shock. She was to church today.

Washed clothes. Very cloudy. Talked with Helen & Aunt Maude.

Had fresh peas for first. We stayed home. Ate lunch in back yard. Vern finished fence. Merrill & I painted it. Ironed.

Got letter from Juanita saying that she & Don are getting married July 15th. Got card saying Arlene & Howard Decker have baby boy. Barrett Suley Decker, born June 25. Got invitation to baby shower for Zelda. Rained.

Appointment Dr. Summa $10.00 9:45 AM. Merrill, Jim & I went to city. Got my eyes examined. We went out home in PM.

Jim & I went to city & got my glasses. Canned peas. Cleaned. Glasses cost $22.00. Made jam.

Baked & dusted. Canned peas. Men drawed hay all day.

Awfully hot. Ken & Eleanor were here for dinner & supper. Jim went home with them.

Tired today. Rained hard during night & off & on all day. Men fixed pump. Went over to Madeline Honeywell’s in evening to Home Bureau.

Shower for Zelda McKeever at Marg’s. I went. Merrill & I went to city. Stopped to see about my glasses. Can’t get used to them.

Vi & I went down to see Leah. She has bad infection in her finger. Rained hard in PM & cold.

Rained awfully hard last night. Turned very cold toward morning. cold all day. Got letter from Eleanor. Jim doesn’t want to come home.

Don & Juanita married today at Potsdam. Married in First Methodist Church by Rev. Wendell Carter. Drawed hay all day. Did some baking.

Went out home for dinner. Ken & Eleanor brought Jim up there. Eleanor, Jim, & I went up to see Arlene Barker’s baby. Don, Juanita & Donna was here when we got home. Stayed all night.

Don, Juanita, & Donna left today. 3 people drowned at Theresa. A bad fire at the Bay & one at Antwerp. Rained.

Fresh Air Kids arrive. Helen & Miriam Ramas got here on 7:00 train. Jim & I met them at the train.
