Cloudy & cold. Baked pies, cookies, & doughnuts. Went to Lacona in evening. Pauline, Garmon, Donna, Mom & Dad were here when we got home. Garmon is on 11 day furlough.

Lila’s shower. Made cakes. Arlene went to the shower with us. Had a grand time. Was 23 there. We got over there at 11:00 PM. Wrote to Gloria.

Went to Philadelphia. Had dinner at Uncle Rays. Went to see the farm. Only 2 flat tires on way out. Vernon stayed at Dad’s. Broke my glasses.

Have been having hemorrhages all day. Couldn’t get Doctor. Peggy went over home after Vernon. Dot, Arlene, Evelyn & Peggy were here. Sent for tires & tube.

World War II is over. Japan has surrendered. The news came about 7:00 PM. Arlene was down. Washed clothes.
