Started haying. Canned 6 1/2 quarts strawberries. Got letter from Gloria. Went to Lacona in evening. Store closed. Got 2 dozen eggs @.50 from Stones.

Baked. Vernon & Jimmy worked in garden all PM. Went to Lacona in evening. Got pk. potatoes @.80. Grand day.

Merrill cut grass & cultivated potatoes. Went over to Dad’s & Grandma’s. Gib Denny was home on 24 hour pass.

Washed clothes. Canned 5 1/2 quarts berries. Got back letter we sent Loren year ago. Dot was down.

Stormed during night & this morning. Quite cool all day. Dot was down. Arlene was down in evening. Popped corn.

Real cool. Ironed clothes. The piece was in paper about how Loren was killed etc. Sent order to Wards for cloth & Ration Board (sugar).

Got letter from Mother T. Sent letter she got from Loren’s buddy. Ken was up in evening. Brought pork up. Vernon went up to Mary’s in PM.

Wrote Mother T. Got pearls, gloves, & belt form Spiegel. Went to Lacona for groceries in evening. Rained in evening. Oren had heifer killed during last storm.

Got ration for 1 tire. Nigger has 5 kittens under steps. Went to Lorraine in evening. Went over home. Dad’s gave Vernon overalls & Jimmy suit.

Went up to Mary’s in morning. Merrill went over to Reeds for Dad. Went over home in PM. Gib Denny was home this weekend.

Washed clothes. Wrote to Lila & Aunt Maude. Sent letter to Ration Board. Got cloth & pills. Arlene was down in evening.

Sent gas ration blank. Sent for new tire to Sears. Dot was down. I went home with her. Made my dress (Green & white).

Did ironing. Raining & thunder storms in afternoon. Got back 2 “V-Mail” letters we sent Loren a year ago.

Ralph Hogaboom’s have baby boy. Dot & Edith were here. Jimmy & I went up to Mary’s with them. Got letter from Ration Board & Aunt Maude. Sent order to Spiegel for dress.

Wrote to Aunt Maude. Got letter & picture from Angie. Went to Lacona in evening. Real warm. Watkins man was here.

Got winter coat from Spiegel. Got gas B coupon. Card from Sears. Baked. Sent letter to Belleville & Times. Willis Hogaboom has baby boy.

Drove up to Beulah’s but she was away. Stopped at Marg’s for dinner. Vernon ate with Harwood. Went over home. Merrill hilled potatoes.

Got letter from Mother T. Washed clothes. Rained in PM so we went to Adams. Got Jimmy new shoes. Wrote Aunt Maude. Went to Redfield in evening.

Our ad is in paper. Did most of ironing. Got letter from Aunt Maude. Dot was down.

Awfully hot. Had bad thunder storms in evening. Finished ironing.

Sent letter to Carl. Got new tire (ration) from Sears. $12.50. Winston Churchill has resigned.

Got letter from ad from Philadelphia. Sent card to Redfield to Aloan. Went to Lacona in evening. Got No 6 radio battery.

An airplane crashed into the Empire State Building killing at least 15. They put in 11 load hay today.

Went to Henderson etc. Southwicks & over to Dads. Took picnic dinner & ate at Hungerford’s.

They took Beverly to the hospital with convulsions at 3:00 AM. Jimmy got new suit. Dot was down.Washed clothes. Got letter from Carl.
