Hardly any roads open. Got mail today. No school. Got letter from Mr. Hungerford.

Some snow storm. Everything buried (car, pig pen). Merrill got here for breakfast at 11:30. Snow even with windows.

Clear day but cold. Went to Adams in evening to see Mr. Hungerford. I met them for first time. We can have place.

Merrill asked Oren if he’d let him go March 1st. Under new law have to have draft board consent to change jobs. Oren doesn’t like idea of Merrill leaving.

Sent letter to Mom, Aunt Mildred & Angie. Warmer. Vernon went to school for first since Xmas. Dorothy & Evelyn were down.Arlene has mumps. Merrill cleaned stovepipes.

Awful cold last night 40°-50° below zero. Wrote Marg & Arlene. Merrill got pay. Train wreck at Richland. Mail went at 3:00 PM. Got letter from Marg & Mother T.

Marion Stillman Moreton has baby girl. Got letter from Mom. Merrill went to see Draft Board. Told him he couldn’t change jobs. Sent $27.79 to Spiegel for coat. Washed clothes.

Jimmy went outdoors & played with Vernon today. Mom, Dad, Dorland came up. Killed pigs. Was here for supper. Sold Oren one 105 pound @ 21 ¢.Got card from Annie.

Went over home in PM. Merrill went down to see Mr. Hungerford. Said we could have farm in November if possible. Mrs. H. gave us magazines.
