Much warmer. Beautiful day. We had a service in the chapel today. Talked about our adopted trees. Had a cook out at noon. Wrote Jim. Ron Short here in evening for program.

We took hike to Primitive camp of Rev. Lord. Got letter from Merrill. Had program, games, & singing in hall.

Quite warm but cloudy. Made shadow boxes. Got letters from Jim here at camp. Had sharing program in evening. Ended with camp fire.

Got home from Aldersgate at 3:30. Bill Mowers brought our car up. They went to wedding. We went to Theresa in evening. Merrill got hair cut.

We went to church. Drove out to Mom’s in PM. Bill & Vi were here in evening after car.

Don’s birthday. Road men started work on road. Wrote kids. Went to Texas for cherries. 44 pounds @ 10¢. Saw the kids new home. Stopped at Ken’s.

Got letter from Melba. Worked on cherries. Washed clothes. Merrill bought draw bar from Sherm Monnet, $50.00. Merrill went to Lanphere’s. Hall kids were over. McCload barn burned at 4:00 PM tonight.

Wrote Jim. Got letter from kids. Last letter from Maryland. Got letter from Dot. She has job & also going to start nursing course. Ironed. Cold.

Got pictures back. I took Debbie, Sharon H, Cathy, & Eddie G, to 4-H meeting at city. Got groceries. Cold tonight.

4-H kids here to fill out exhibit cards. Wrote Dot. Finished ironing. Have furnace fire.

Kids got here at 5:00 PM. Station wagon behind U-H truck. Left Maryland at 3:00 AM. Elmer, Melba, & kids here for breakfast on way to camp at Wellesley Island.

State Sales tax begins. We took U-Haul back to city, Lazy day. Just took it easy. Windy.

Elmer, Melba, & kids here in PM. Fair. I didn’t have to take 4-H kids as Mary H was going. Kids left at 8:30 AM for Rochester for week. Cloudy so can’t black top our road today.

W.S.C.S. at Mrs. Kavanoughs at Adams. 14 from Philadelphia there. Marguerite, Mrs. Hutchinson & I drove. Merrill helped build fence at Brotherton’s. Wrote Jim.

Warmer. Washed. We went to Wellesley Island in PM to visit Elmer, Melba & kids at their cottage.

They black topped our road today. Sent Cindy card & letter. Got letter from Dot.

Cindy’s birthday. Merrill worked at Bob Lafave’s. I went to P&C for groceries in AM. Took Millicient Hale out to Dr. Roberts in PM. Hot.

Got letter from Uncle Berle. Hot. Took 4-H kids to fair to get ribbons etc. Mary Hall went with me. Arnold Buker died today. Merrill put in cement at Lafave’s.

We went to church. Went up to funeral home in evening for Arnold Buker, 52 years old. Rained. Seems good after being so dry all summer.

Very hot. Got letter from June. Aren’t coming home until Wednesday or Thursday. Merrill worked at Lafave’s. Sharon & Marilyn here. Joined $1.00 a week club. 2nd week. Stormed in evening.

Wrote Jim. Sent sympathy cards to Vi & Bukers. Rained about all day. Cold. Merrill worked at Lafave’s. Got pictures from Dot.

Church ice cream social. Good crowd. Cold evening. I was cashier. Indian River Band played. Made $50.00.

Holly’s birthday. Kids got here about 3:00 PM. Stopped at their new home on way.

Got letter & pictures from Jim of Loren’s grave. Very good. We all went to city, Kids got washer at Sears, $199.99.

Vern helped Merrill at Bob Lafaves. Beautiful day & evening. Had marshmallow roast in yard in evening.

Hot. Over 90°. Kids went to Beaver Falls to Larry & Jan Corey’s.

We all went to Oswego. Had picnic at Fort Ontario. Kids have beautiful place. Quite hot.

I feel punk today. Men worked at Lafaves. Stormed in evening. Vi, Martha & Jeffrey were down in evening. Kids went to laundromat.

Power was off for over 2 hours this morning. Vern accepted job at college. Men worked on barn shingles. Washed. Uncle Ray, Aunt Maude, & Cathy were down. Brought me lamp.

Rained hard during night. Wrote Jim. Sent in films. Kids went to Oswego to see about insurance etc. Baked.

Kids got OK on FHA loan. Will move Tues. Sears called about kids’ washer. June had tooth out at Dr. Lees in Gouverneur. $5.00. Merrill combined at Hales.

Cloudy. Kids went to city with Howard’s truck for washer. Merrill finished Hales oats. Evelyn was over for coffee with me.

We went out to Mom’s for dinner. Cloudy day.

Got pictures of kids house back. Karen’s 1st birthday. I went to Past Grands at Zelda’s. Mrs. Poucher called to say kids couldn’t move in their house until closing. Merrill baled Hale’s straw. Merrill also baled Ivan’s straw.

Men worked at Lafaves. Nice day.

Steven is 10 months old today. Men worked at Bob’s. June, Steven, & I went to city & Aunt Cora’s. No one home but Uncle Charlie. Finished black topping our road.

Kids, Merrill & I went to city. Got Mom dishes at Beehive. Got shirt to send Jim. Got new glasses frames, $18.00. Eleanor, Roberta, & Holly here for supper.

Sent Jim shirt & $10.00 for birthday. Kids 5th anniversary. They went to Oswego & found out their FHA loan had been turned down. Pretty sad day for all.

Kids went to Oswego. No luck. Merrill, Stevie, & I went to Evans Mills & city for groceries. Jim’s 3rd anniversary in service.

We all went to church. Steven’s first time at regular church. Lazy day in PM. Cold.

Kids went to Oswego. Will know tomorrow if they can get bank loan. Got first GLF feed from Mills. Lanphere brought lumber. Merrill started combining oats. Cold.

Beulah & Les anniversary. Rainy & cold. Vern & June can buy Gilbert house. June’s father called from Canada.

Jim’s 22nd birthday. Vern went to meeting at college. Kids house closing is Friday at 2:30. June, Steven, & I went to city. Got Stevie first walking shoes at Corigan’s, $5.99. Had his picture taken at Grants. Evelyn’s last day of work.

Vern & June went to Oswego for closing on house. Vern got a speeding ticket on way home. Kept Stevie here. Went up to Philadelphia.

Vern & June & Steven moved to new home at Oswego from here. Merrill & I went with them & drove U-Haul truck & van back to city. Nice day.

We didn’t go to church. Merrill finished combining oats. 156 bags. I mowed lawns. Swell day.

Merrill worked on chopper box. Made white tops for kitchen curtains. Kids called from Oswego.

W.S.C.S. at Marguerite Beach, 20 there. Wrote Jim. Had vet 2 times for cow with milk fever. Merrill painted chopper box. Don Gehm called to see if kids got moved. Painted kitchen tables.

Rebekahs. I didn’t go. Worked on chair plastic. I went to city. Got plastic etc. for kitchen chairs.
