Cloudy & cool. Debbie was over to make apron. Albert Payne’s started new house by Hales. Wrote Jim, & June & Vern. Sent in film.

Home Demonstration at Martha Brown’s. 8 present. The two man, four day orbit was a success. Ed [?] & Jim McNevill. Ed [?] first US man to walk in space. Merrill planted first corn.

W.S.C.S. at Esther Taylor’s, Myrtle’s first meeting as president. I went up to see Martha & John’s baby in AM. Washed windows & clothes.

Got Martha Roberts wedding pictures. Cleaned living room. I went to Gouverneur for lawn mower blade, $3.85. Merrill finished planting corn. We went to Northside Drive In with Mowers. We called kids in evening. Heard Stevie jabbering.

Hot. I went to church. Merrill planted Hank Schell’s corn. Lynn, Mary, & kids were here. Merrill mowed lawns.

Cleaned back room & kitchen, Very hot.

Dot got here at 7:30 AM. 12 hour drive, 665 miles. We talked all day long. Got letter from Jim. Dot got letter from Uncle Berle.

Wrote Jim. We drove to Talcott Falls, city, & Camp Drum. Dot & I went for ride in evening to Theresa.

Reception for Minister. We went. Dot & I went to Lasher’s, Aunt Keitha’s, & city. Merrill planted garden finally.

We went out to Mom’s for dinner. Cindy has mumps. Went to Adams cemetery. Dot took flowers.

We washed & ironed. Merrill put up new flag rope. Telephone out most of day. Truck broke pole by Payne’ new house.

Didn’t go to church. We went for ride to Alexandria Bay & Clayton. Rainy & cold. I went with Rebekahs to Francis Quenzer’s wake at Evans Mills.

Past Grands outing to South Shore Restaurant. 20 of us went. I went with Ginny. Dot left for Lashers. Merrill took car to Gouverneur for brake adjustment & oil change. Merrill worked at Cooke’s in PM.

Mowed lawn. Washed clothes. Merrill worked at Cooke’s. Wrote Jim & Mom.

Home Demonstration. Went to Dick Cooke’s Restaurant & bowling afterwards. 11 of us went. Dot came back, but was sick so couldn’t go with us. Brad Gut. spend day here.

Mom’s 73rd birthday. Dot & I went to Gouverneur for groceries. Rained.

Ruth Eggleston, Vi Mowers, Dot, & I went to Aldersgate. Left at 2:00 PM. Took Dot on to Will Clark’s at Barneveld. Rained. We got to Camp Aldersgate at 5:15 PM.

Had morning session at Camp. Nice weather. Got home at 4:30. Went to Barneveld after Dot. Merrill got a “Grandpa” Father’s Day card from Steven.

Father’s day. Merrill, Dot, & I went to Canada on picnic. Stopped at George & Nelda Peterson’s. Beautiful day. Watched Grand Prix from France. Jim attended the Grand Prix on way to St. James.

Norma was here. Heard today that Ronnie Cook, age 22, drowned Saturday. He is A/2C stationed in Bermuda. Rainy. Dot went to Lorraine. Got letter from Jim. Is on 15 day leave. Is going to Grand Prix & St. James.

Wrote June & Vern. Washed clothes. Baked. Merrill finished cultivating corn. He started barn sill. Norma Payne was here.

Sent June birthday card & letter. Wrote Mother Tryon. Dot came back from Ken’s. I went to first board meeting at ministers. Merrill put in [?].

Got perm at Harriet Palmers for $10.00. Took 3 hours. Dot went to Harry Clark’s at Black River for supper. Merrill & I went to meeting at Philadelphia on medical building.

We went to city. Got Venetian blinds for living room at Weston’s, $2.67. We went to 25th wedding party for Alberta & Kring Payne. 40 present. Wrote Jim. Got letter from Jim. He has been to St. James cemetery.

Payne’s 25th anniversary. Dot got hair done at Jane Bates. We mowed lawns. We went up to Uncle Ray’s in evening.

Beautiful day. We went to Rodman Cemetery on way to city. Had picnic at Washington Park. Marg, Beulah, Mom, Orv & Angie, Ken’s, Juanita & kids, Merrill & I & Dorothy were there.

Dot left for home at 8:30 AM. Merrill mowed first hay across road. Got letter from kids. June has rash. Stormed in evening. Hot all day.

Wrote Vern’s, & Mother Tryon. Sent news ttem to Times about Jim on Riffle team. Vi & I went picking strawberries at Grieco’s @ 25¢. Froze them in evening. Vi gave me chenille house coat.

Appointment with Dr. Roberts. Millicient Hale & I went. Gave me pills for throat allergy. Jim Matteson came for first to hay it. Merrill & I went up to Ronnie Cook’s wake in evening.

Wrote Jim. Merrill & I Jim drawed hay. Very windy. Rained in evening.

Ronnie Cook’s funeral at Methodist church, 2:00 PM. Merrill & I went to cemetery in Theresa. Huge funeral. Air Force burial. Rained in AM. Got letter from Dot. She got home Tuesday at 5:00 AM about 20 hours.

We went to church. Ate dinner at Kay’s Restaurant in Adams Center. Doreen, Debbie, & Cindy came home with us.

I took girls to Crystal Lake. Nice swimming. Jim was here to help draw hay. Saw G[?] & Patty Fry at lake.

W.S.C.S. at Eva Delles. I went. Jim Matteson brought me some frogs legs. First I’ve every had. Very good. June & Vern called in evening. Are moving back to Oswego in August.

Jim goes to England for Pistol Meet. Uncle Len & Betty here for supper & evening. Rained about 1:30 PM so men had to stop haying. Wrote Jim & Vern & June.

I was sick in bed with headache all day. First one in ages.

Rained in evening. We went to city for groceries in PM. Took kids up to city park to see animals. Cut Debbie & Cindy’s hair.

We took Doreen, Debbie, & Cindy home. Shopped tor camp stuff on way home. Mother Tryon, Leslie, & Grace came for supper & night. Got letter from kids.

We didn’t go to church. Tired out. Mother Tryon, Leslie, & Grace went up to Aunt Cora’s. Merrill drawed load of hay that he didn’t get Saturday.

Wrote notes to camp girls. Past Grands at Helen Dickson’s. I didn’t go. Washed & baked cookies. Got letter from Dot. Wrote kids & Dot. Merrill mowed lawns.

Jim M was here in PM. 1123 bales in so far. I called Rev. Smith, Holly Feather is going to camp with us. I went up to Holly’s in evening.

I went over to see Teresa Hall. Took cake & cookies. Men drawed one load of hay. Cloudy. Wrote Don’s & sent anniversary card.

Chicken Barbecue. Made $181.00. I didn’t help. Vern, June, & Steven got here about 5:00. Have a 1965 station wagon. Brought stuff in U-Haul & towed car.

Kids went to Oswego for interview. We kept Steven all day. Jim M was here. Stevie & I went up to Philadelphia.

Kids had to go to Oswego again today. Kept Stevie. Beulah Hall’s birthday. Kids bought house in town of Scriba, $21.000.

Camp Aldersgate. Ruth, Holly, Vi, & Timmy Hull & I came to camp. Vi drove. Vern & June, & Stevie left at 9:00 AM.

Rained in evening. Had movies. We took hike in woods & picked a tree for each girl. Rebekah ice cream social. They made over $300.00 for building fund.

Was 30° last night. Warmed up during day. Bob Holkins at 7:30 program. Had first campfire.
