Nice day. We went to city in PM. I got new dress at Sears. Took out tree & decorations. Got letter from Uncle Berle & Christmas poem from June & Vern & Steven. Merrill went to lodge.

W.S.C.S. at Vi Mower’s. I went. Millicient Hale & I started daily walks. Rained in evening. Roads slippery.

Nice day. Mill [Millicient] & I walked down past Eggleston’s. Made cookies. No letter from Jim again today.

Home Demonstration at Betty’s. 9 women, 4 kids. Wrote Jim & Dot Medina. I fell in road on walk. Very lame.

Got long letter from Jim. He had a very nice Christmas at Dot & Charles. He got his packages OK. Got Christmas slides. I’m very sore & lame from fall.

Thunderstorm during night. Windy. We went to city for groceries.

We went to church. Cold but no snow. Watched the Harlem Globe Trotters on TV in PM.

Snowing. Wrote Jim. Went walking. Washed my hair.

Stewardship meeting at 7:30. Got drive planned. Washed clothes. Went walking. Leg sore. Nice day.

Rebekahs. I didn’t go as my leg is too sore to drive car. Have missed 5 meetings.

24° below zero last night. Card party at Eggleston’s for Home Demonstration. Nice time. Had four tables. Got letter from Jim. Uncle Ray went into hospital today at 2:00 PM.

Still very cold. We took Aunt Maude & Cathy to hospital to see Uncle Ray. 44° below last night in places.

Above zero today. 74 hours of below zero weather. Didn’t go to church. Mom called. Talked with Aunt Maude. Uncle Ray has to be in hospital 10 days more.

Past Grands at Diane Riley’s. I didn’t go. Merrill & I took Aunt Maude & Cheryl out to see Uncle Ray. He may have operation Wednesday. Had Xrays today. Wrote Uncle Berle, Vern’s, & Doreen.

Doreen’s 8th birthday. Got letter from Dot Talcott. Merrill took Aunt Maude & Cheryl to hospital to see Uncle Ray. He has operation tomorrow. Had tests today. Baked pies & cupcakes.

Aunt Maude, Cheryl, & I left for hospital at 8:00 AM. Uncle Ray came through operation good. Marg was up to hospital. I went to Dr. Roberts. Have to have Xrays on my hip. June & Vern called.

Agent taught Home Demonstration lesson at Philadelphia, Stylish Standbys. 23 present. We took Aunt Maude & Cheryl to city. I had 5 Xrays at Dr. Sickles.

I took egg lesson at city. Aunt Maude & Cheryl came home with me. Uncle Ray got up for first. Called Dr. Roberts. No broken bones on Xrays.

Wrote Jim. Didn’t have to go to city today. Lazy day. Ruth Eggleston called.

Nice today. Wrote June & Vern. Got letter from June & Vern. Pearl & Norma Payne were here. Bob Payne left for Korea today. Norma asked me to be 4-H assistant leader. Washed & ironed. Washed my hair. Merrill took car to Gouverneur for plugs & points.

Took Aunt Maude & Cheryl to hospital to see Uncle Ray. Very icy, stormy day. Called Mom in evening.

Aunt Maude & I went out to hospital after Uncle Ray. Terrible stormy. got to Philadelphia at 1 :15 PM. I ate dinner at Uncle Rays. Got letter from Jim.

Cold but nice day. Wrote Mom & sent for egg bulletins. Made pecan pie & souffle.

Very stormy. Watched Winston Churchill’s funeral on TV all day. Got letter from Doreen, first one. Didn’t have 4-H meeting.

Snowing in morning but nice day later. We went to church. Went over to Willis Hall’s for eggs. Saw his chicken house. 15,000 hens.

Quarterly conference. I didn’t go as it was snowing & slippery. Wrote Jim. Washed & cleaned cupboards. June’s grandfather’s funeral in Syracuse.

Nettie Smith M by car at city. W.S.C.S. at Minnie Dyers. Sun shining. Merrill had tooth pulled at Dr. McQueen’s at Gouverneur, $5.00. Kids called in evening. June’s grandfather was buried. They came for the funeral.

Very stormy. School let out early in PM. Cleaned. Roads blocked south of the city,

Home Demonstration here was canceled because of stormy weather. No school today. Cleaned in PM. Baked cookies & pies.

Card party canceled because of storm. Terrible storm all day. Windy.

Got dug out from storm, Merrill plowed all forenoon on driveways. I went to 4-H at Payne’s. First meeting as assistant. Quite warm today. Merrill got front tractor tire fixed.

I went to church. We went for ride in PM to see jet helicopters. Raining & warm. Kenny & Brenda didn’t come down.

Merrill went to Antwerp for dog license. Washed. Rained hard all day. Foggy. Water everywhere.

Sent income & state tax returns. Merrill sent $214.00. Cold but nice day. We took Uncle Ray & Aunt Maude to city. Uncle Ray went to Dr. for check up. Can do light work. We went to hospital to see Nettie Smith.

Rebekahs. I didn’t go because of terrible icy roads. Schools closed. George Waters broke leg today. Many Americans killed in Vietnam. Called Vern & June in evening.

Sent Stevie Valentine. Wrote Jim. I took car to Gouverneur in morning. Was leaking fluids. Mildred Tousley & I made church calls in PM to Eager’s, Bennett’s, & Hardy’s. Ruth, & I went to basketball game at Philadelphia.

The Egg & You lesson II at city. I went alone. Got groceries. Merrill went up to Masher’s with insurance lawyer. They took pictures. Case comes up next week. Got Stevie’s pictures. Also Don’s kids pictures.

Milk meeting. Merrill went. Got 2 1/2 pounds of cheddar cheese. Mildred & I went to Jim Hardy’s on church call. Nancy brought Stanley orders.

Nice day. We went out home. First since Christmas. They had dinner after church for Addie Klock & Lula Rappole for over 50 years as Sunday School teachers. 80 present. Saw first crow in Route 81.

I was asked to do TV survey. Sent Mother Tryon our picture. Sent her birthday card & letter. Lois & Carroll Ward’s 20th anniversary. Lawyer called. Mosher trial tomorrow. Past Grands at Carrie T’s but I didn’t go.

Mother Tryon’s 76th birthday. We had to be in court on Mosher case. Was at lawyer Aylward’s office at 9:00 AM. Case was settled out of court. Saw Mary O’Brien there. Jim Matteson did noon chores. Called Mom from city.

Got first 4-H paper. Cleaned house & washed rugs. Wrote Jim. Sent cards to George Waters & Frank Soluri at hospitals.

Very cold. Merrill & I went to city. Saw Nettie at Mercy Hospital. George Waters at City Hospital. Both are coming good. Got letter from Frank Smith about Camp Aldersgate.
