We started for city but was so stormy we went to Gouverneur instead. Roads good that way. Had 4-H party at Norma Payne’s. Nice time & all members present.

Bill, Vi, Merrill, & I went to Vern & June’s for dinner. Kids got nice cuckoo clock from Jim. Roads icy all the way. Nice day. Millicient Hale & I went to church Christmas program in evening.

Washed clothes. Made cookies. 5° below last night. Waxed kitchen & bath floors. Got package from Jim & dates from Uncle Berle. Sent Jim $100.00 of his money. Merrill got hair cut.

Washed kitchen, bath, & dining room curtains. Ironed. Jim Matteson was here in evening.

Sent in film. Wrote Dot, & Evelyn Scee. I went to Rebekah’s Christmas party. Got calendar towel. Merrill & I went to city for groceries.

Vern, June, & Steven got here at 1 :30 PM. Got Steven 2nd pair of shoes in city. Bill, Vi, John, Martha, & Jeffrey & Hall family were here in evening.

Got pictures back & letter from Dot. Merrill, Vern, June, & Steven went to city for shower stall. Steve got first snow boots. We had our tree in evening. Lovely gifts. Merrill got power saw. I got percolator.

Vern, June, Steven left for Rochester about 9:30 AM. Merrill & I went out to Mom’s & Don’s for dinner. Raining & not snowing in morning. Snowing & terrible slippery coming home. Mom got 604 Social Sec.

Cold. Sun shiny day. Lazy day. We didn’t get around in time for church. Used my new electric percolator for first time.

Wrote Vern’s. Sent in film. Wrote Jim. Washed clothes. Washed my hair. Over 720 killed over Christmas holidays in car accidents.

Blackie’s eye much better. He has been sick a week with it. We went up to Barker’s today. Also over to Mom’s. Don fixed my small radio.

Got Christmas pictures back. Got letter form Dot. Ironed. Eleanor & Ken were here for supper. Came out to Mr. Zen Laidlaw’s funeral. They gave Merrill oil can, me slip.

I was over to Evelyn’s. Made Hal Mark birthday cake. Merrill & I spent evening at Halls. Played canasta until 1 :00 AM.

Got letter from Jim. He sees Jimmy Hewitt about every day. Wrote his last letter from us to France as he goes to England on January 5th. Very warm, 60 °. We went up to Bill & Vi’s in evening.
