Easter Sunday. Called Mom. I was too sick to even go to church. Merrill has cold starting.

Washed & ironed. Doris Aynes was here with Avon. Her last order. Talked with Vi.

The birds are at the bird feeder for first time this year. Beautiful day. Washed dining room curtains & windows. Potted violets. Cleaned dresser drawers & raked some of yard & flowers. Merrill built fence.

Merrill plowed corn ground. Cleaned some on yards. Quite windy. Mom & Marg called from city. Aunt Keitha is in hospital with infection in her foot. Lawrence is in hospital,

Rained a little last night. Thunder storms during night. Got long letter from Jim. He is going to “on the job training” full time for a month. Merrill & I went to city. Got door canopy & grill for front door, $20.00. Wrote Mom.

Cloudy & rainy all day. Bad thunder storms in evening. Merrill put up door canopy & grill. Finished my black suit.

Cloudy. Mother Tryon, Elmer, Melba, & kids were here for dinner & supper. Very rainy most of day. I didn’t go to church.

Got letter from Jim. He has sore throat & cold. I raked most of front lawn. Merrill built fence. Wrote Jim.

Finished cleaning yards. Planted morning glories by pole. Howard brought Merrill light pole. Cleaned. Barn dances opened tonight, 9-3.

Fast time begins. Nice day. Merrill & I went out home for dinner. Mom is feeling lots better.

Got 2200 more pounds of coal today. Got up to a ground covered with snow & snowing hard. Today would have been Loren’s 39th birthday. Mary H was here in evening. Got 3 inches of snow in city. Got letter from Mr. Corbett about Aldersgate.

Got letter from Jim. He is going to driving school. Home Bureau at Anne Hill’s. I went. Did lunch cloth stenciling. My spine very sore but no headache. Have taken pills all week. Merrill worked on Schell’s garage door.

Got letter from Motor Vehicles Department about Mosher. Artificial Breeder’s county banquet at Ide R.C. School. We went. Very nice. 150 there. I went to city in AM for groceries. Wrote Jim. Merrill worked on Schell’s door. Debbie brought me flowers.

Rained during night. We went to church. Merrill mowed side yard for first this year. Merrill’s back is still sore.

Rebekah’s initiation. I’m conductor. 75 present. Merrill & I went. Hattie Timmerman, Virginia New, Madeline George, joined. [Not sure of names.] Ate in Grange hall. Rained all day & evening. Everett Hoover started ice cream route by here.

Mother’s Day. Didn’t go to church. Merrill & I both have horrid colds. Slept about all day. Merrill watched a ball game.

Cooper’s space orbit canceled until tomorrow. Merrill worked at Roy Smith’s. My cold is worse today. Mary was here in evening.

Carl’s 35th birthday. We took tulips to Calcium & Rodman cemeteries. Went out to Mom’s for dinner. An F-100 C Saber jet crashed at Antwerp, killing the pilot.

I finished mowing lawns. Town started work on Ore Bed Road near here. Planted Dahlias. Merrill plowed garden. He finished at Schell’s garage door.
