Sent Jim package of Christmas goodies. Oscar Sellers brought my Life Insurance Policy. I went over to Theresa Hall’s & made chocolates. Merrill worked at lodge hall. Washed clothes. Addressed cards.

Got colored picture of garage etc. Cleaned house. Waxed floors. Made Christmas cookies & banana bread. Merrill worked at lodge hall. Snowy.

Home demonstration Christmas party here. 6 members, 4 kids present. Nice time. Nice day. Got box of dates from Uncle Berle. I went to meeting at city with Taylor’s in evening.

Got letter from Jim, Vern & June. Wrote Jim. Sent him pictures. I went to city to finish Christmas shopping. Merrill & I went to Gouverneur in PM. Joe Hack & Merrill had fruit cake & coffee. 20°-30″ below in night.

Cold!. Wrapped gifts. Got colored pictures from Gehms of Hanson’s Bridge taken in September. Merrill worked at lodge.

Finished wrapping gifts. I went to church. Helped fill & deliver shut-in baskets in PM. Donna was here.

Donna’s birthday. Merrill got hair cut. Mary here in evening. Finished June’s pillows. Made candy. Got letter from Jim. Also cards from Jim, June & Vern, & Evelyn Scee from Washington. Wrote Jim.

Very stormy all day. We didn’t go to candle light service at church. Merrill & I had our tree in evening. Got our Cuckoo clock from Jim on wall. I got doorbell & mixer. Merrill drill press.

Snowy in AM. Merrill & I went out to Mom’s for dinner. Just Mom, Don’s, Merrill, & I this year. Mom gave us money.

Wrote Jim. Vern & June got here about 5:00 PM. Howard & Evelyn & kids were here in evening. Kids gave me blanket, magazine rack. Dad, sweater & National Geographic magazine.

Stormy, We went to city for groceries & to exchange things. Roads very slippery. Wrote Evelyn & Cart Scee at Washington.

Cold but nice. Washed my hair in morning. Very stormy most of day.

Stormy in AM. Bad storm at city. 2 feet of snow. We were home all day. Played games. June’s father called from Rochester.

June & Vern left about 8:30 AM. 30° below zero last night. Sunny. Vern called at 7:30 PM. Just got home. Had good trip home. Wrote Jim.

Jim left for overseas 1 year ago today. Nice day but cold. Merrill, Vi, & I went out to Seaway in PM. Called Mom. We went up to Bill & Vi’s in evening.

Rev. B is on radio this week. PNG’s at Marguerites. 12 out. I cleaned upstairs. Merrill put wood down cellar. Sent our life insurance. Merrill had $1085.20 + $145.17 int. Mine is $679.60 + $94.09 int. Took it out in 1963.
