Rained during night. First in ages. Jerry Hudson funeral. Merrill & I went. Large funeral. Hall kids came trick or treating in evening. Made popcorn balls.

Merrill finished garage. Got letter from Jim. Hank Schell’s car quit. He walked to our house to call. Raining. I went to Lorraine after Juanita. She got her teeth at city. Did shopping for church supper & myself.

Baked pies & washed clothes. Cold & rainy. Wrote Jim. Merrill cleaned up rubbish around garage. He finished the garage yesterday.

I went to church. Merrill helped get Hudson’s young stock home. Nice day.

I worked at church in afternoon. Roasted 12 pound turkey here. 4 1/2 pounds of meat on it,

W.S.C.S. Election Day supper & bazaar. Fire Hall made $223.00. Got home at 9:00 PM. Merrill & I went over & voted to Antwerp in morning. Got letter from Jim, Dot Talcott, & Juanita,

Tired. Went up to Philadelphia & paid bills & cleaned church kitchen. Addie & Edith went with me. Merrill drawed manure.

Elsie & Win Bacon’s 57th anniversary. Home Bureau here for 2nd baking ingredients lesson. 6 present. Oscar Sellers was here selling insurance.

Got letter from Jim. He has been to Luxembourg. Merrill & I went to city shopping at Weston’s Shopping City that opened yesterday. Huge place.

Baked pies & cookies. Merrill put rest of heifers in barn in new stanchions. Merrill went to Philadelphia & bank. Raining. Wrote Jim.

I went to church. We went out home in PM. Don has sent for new saw mill.

Elsie & I entertained Past Grands at her house. 17 present. We had Mrs. Livingston make cake for it, $4.00. TV quit.

Wrote Jim. Oscar Sellers & Mr. Holmes were here in evening. Merrill & I each took out a $2000 Life Insurance policy. Howard was here.

I went to lodge. Vern & June called in evening. I wrote them letter today. Merrill plowed.

Rained in morning. I went up to church with Addie & Vi to see about painting basement. We went bowling at New Theresa bowl with Howard & Evelyn for first time.

Merrill & I have appointment with Dr. Taylor at 3:00. Got groceries & last 2 card table chairs with gold & green stamps. Got letter from Jim.

Ken & Eleanor’s 17th anniversary. Bill & Vi were down in evening. Played cards.

I went to church. Mother Tryon, Leslie, Grace, & Marvin were here for dinner. Gave Mother Tryon the picture of Loren’s grave & cemetery.

Beautiful day. Like summer. Finished washing & ironing. Worked at church getting ready to paint. Had cards & letters from Uncle Berle, & Marg.

Got letter & card from Jim. He is visiting Paris. My 46th birthday. Mom couldn’t come out as she has sore toe. Got my hair done at Louise’s. Went to Home Demonstration at Ann Hull’s. Got gifts from both secret pals. Raining.

President John Kennedy shot in Dallas, Texas today at 12:30. I went to city shopping. Was there when news came. Got card & letter from Fran. Jennie has sold her interest in shop.

Elsie Bacon’s 75th birthday. I was sick in bed all day with sick headache. Nothing on TV or radio except about President Kennedy.

Ground covered with snow when we got up & has snowed all day. Snow plow was over for first time. Elmer came home from hunting.

Elmer, Melba, & kids left about 10:30 AM. Grand day. Roads slippery. Helen Kiechle called to see how Jim is. Mom, Debbie, & Merrill slept in PM.

Mr. & Mrs. Ronas’ 60th anniversary. We took Mom & Debbie home. Shopped in city on way home. Wrote Jim. Signed for Gouverneur paper.

Our 28th anniversary. Merrill worked at lodge in PM & evening. I went to Rebekah’s covered dish supper & Christmas meeting. 50¢ gift exchange.
