Got letter from Jim: Wrote Jim. Anne Meyer’s shower at Carol McK. I went with Ruth Eggleston. Appointment with Dr. Roberts at 3:45. I’m to start taking one pill a day. Got lawn lounge chair for Mom. Insurance man was here about Masher’s accident.

They took Lula Rappole to hospital in ambulance. Betty Haggerty had operation. Mowed yards. went over to Evelyn’s in PM. Lynn, Mary, & kids here in evening.

We went out to Mom’s for dinner. Mrs. Hodge there for dinner also. Talked with Marg. Mom’s eyes very bad.

Started cleaning bedroom. Wrote Jim. Merrill went to lodge.

Past Grands go to Cold Creek Inn but was canceled because Lula is in hospital. Finished bedroom. Merrill finished planting corn.

I took car to Gouverneur for new universal joint. $10.94. Merrill worked at lodge hall. I stopped to see Clara Wallace. They took Glenn to Ryan’s Nursing Home today. I went to lodge. Uncle Berle at Ken’s.

Merrill worked at lodge hall. We planted the garden. I went to dance recital (Dealing) at city with Ruth Eggleston, Sharon Sinclair & Mrs. Fuller also.

Merrill & I went to city for groceries. I got white pumps, $6.00. Went to hospital to see Betty Haggerty & Lula K. Got Bobby & Anne blanket, $6.99. Mowed lawns.

Emma Cross anniversary. I cleaned bathroom. Washed rugs. Wrote Jim. Got letter from Jim. Merrill worked at lodge.

We went out home for dinner. Uncle Berle came home with us. Ken’s brought him up to Mom’s.

Uncle Berle & I went over to Clara Wallace. Rained all day. Merrill worked at lodge hall. Elmer Called in evening.

Sent Mom card & letter. Uncle Berle, Merrill, & I, went to Cliffs, Lyle’s, Ethel, & Lasher’s. Very cold.

Mom’s 72nd birthday. Uncle Berle & I went to city in forenoon. Stopped at cemetery.

Home Demonstration goes to McCarmichael’s. 72 of us went. Dinner, $1.99 complete. Played miniature golf on way home. Lots of fun. Called Mom.

Pre camp at Aldersgate. Bethany House & I left about 2:00 PM. Left Uncle Berle at Lasher’s on way. Beautiful at camp. Warm.

Anne Myers & Bobby Eggleston’s wedding. Merrill & I went. Bethany House went with us. We got back from Aldersgate at 12:30. Got letter from June & Vern.

Father’s Day. Installation of WSCS officers. Several absent. We went to Bay in PM. Saw freighter aground on shoal.

Merrill got Father’s Day card from Vern’s. Wrote Jim, Elmer’s, & June & Vern. Merrill cultivated corn. Washed & ironed. Marilyn was here to phone. I went to graduation. Kenny Rudes graduated.

Merrill & I took Uncle Berle to Utica to see his cousin, Will Clark in Faxton Hospital. We picked him up at Lasher’s. Vi & I took him back in evening.

Ironed. Went to last Rebekah meeting for summer. Cloudy.

Vi & I went to city for berries. Stopped at Rose Petrie’s. Got 16 quarts berries, $4.69. Glenn Wallace, 74, died today.

Ordered flowers for Glenn, $7.50. June’s 26th birthday. Sent package of boots & 2 pair pants to Jim, $23.31 and $6.68 postage. Cleaned porch.

Merrill painted porch floor. Painted porch grill. Baked cookies, & cake. We went over to Wallace’s in evening. Merrill mowed hay.

Glenn Wallace’s funeral. Mom, Uncle Berle, Ken, Eleanor, Roberta, & Holly, here for dinner & supper. We all went to Glenn’s funeral except kids.

Wrote Jim. Jim Matteson helped Merrill draw hay for first this year. Very light crop. Washed. Got letters ready to send camp girls.

Vote on school bond issue. Was voted down. Very hot. Got letter from kids. Ironed.

Very hot & humid. Finally rained in evening. Jim Matteson helped draw 3 loads of hay. Got it all in before it rained. Painted front step.

Rained most of day. I went to city for groceries in AM. Baked.

Cloudy & muggy. Merrill mowed lawns. Washed. Baked cakes. Sent Lois get well card.

We had picnic at Washington Park. Mom, Uncle Berle, Don’s, & Eleanor, & kids. Cold. Davy came home with us.

Go to Camp Aldersgate. Merrill took Ruth, Davy, & I. We left home at noon. I have 6 nice girls. Davy is in cabin A-7. I’m in C-1 this year. Rained. Vern & June got home at 6:30.

Had first Discovery Group as leader. Made a chapel in woods. Had a parade in evening.

Sent cards to kids’ parents. Our Discovery Group made terrariums. Played games in evening.

Real warm. Got letter from Merrill, & June & Vern. They have gone to Canada. Took hike across road today. Played games.

Wrote Jim. Had very nice meeting in chapel. Visited the swamp. Uncle Berle flew back to California today. Frey’s took him to Syracuse.

Had real hard rain storm. Got letter from Jim. Had mission program in evening. Each Discovery Group leader reported on week’s work. Had some skits.

Got home about 3:00 PM. Vern & June got here at 3:30. Ronnie & Sharon Preston & her sister came after Ruth & I. Ronnie just got home from Germany.

We went on picnic to city park Took Davy home in PM. Rained for first in ages.

Ruth Eggleston’s birthday. Rained all day. We went to city shopping. Got two new dresses. Merrill got wiring for garage.

Washed clothes. Vern & Merrill wired garage. Kids went with Hall’s to Roma’s for spaghetti supper. Wrote Jim. Got note from Angie.

Wrote Angie. Finished washing. June did wash & ironing. Merrill & Vern finished wiring garage.

Chicken Barbecue at church. Young Women’s guild & W.S.C.S. Raised chickens. Made $150.00. I helped in kitchen window. Vern & June went to Barbecue.

Vern & June left for Rochester at 10:30 AM. Planned to stop at Oswego & Wolcott on way. Vi & I went picking cherries.

Jim Matteson here in AM to draw hay. Did cherries all day. Orv & Angie came about 7:30 to spend the night & Sunday.

We went to Gouverneur, Oxbow, & Philadelphia for ride. Orv & Angie left at 6:30 PM. We had nice visit. Jim Seeley, 38, died this morning in Rochester hospital.
