W.S.C.S. food sale. Made over $55.00. I made cookies for it. No mail. Merrill talked with Francis Mosher about Insurance trial.

Merrill & I went to church. Wrote Jim & Beulah Hall. Lazy day.

Snowing & blowing in morning. Sent fire insurance, $212.60. Fourth & last Operation Advance meeting. Decided to continue them once a month. Started plans for village park.

Snowy. I went to Rebekahs. Merrill went to Philadelphia in PM.

Home Demonstration at Ruth’s. Sewing lesson #2. I stopped at Evelyn’s on way home. Wrote Jim & Freddie.

Freddie’s 16th birthday. Got letter from Mom. They are having party tor Orv Haggerty tomorrow night.

Orv’s 60th birthday. We went to party for him. Garmon’s, Ken’s, us, & Mom. Linda, age 16, married to Gordon Piper, age 21, in evening.

Got home at 3:00 AM. Sleepy day. I went to church.

Beautiful spring day. Merrill & I went to hospital to see Alice Carr & Addie Klock. They are in same room. Called Mom from city. Wrote Uncle Berle & Jim.

Family night at church, 70 present. Mr. & Mrs. Sellers guests. Wilda called from Canada to say her mother Ella Strader died at 2:00 AM. I let folks know. Merrill saw first crows.

Mom called. Wrote June & Vern. Orv & Angie brought Mom out in evening. Merrill took car to Philadelphia for wash & oil change.

Mom & I went to Ella Strader’s funeral in Canada. Had lunch at Beulah’s. Called at Mae’s, Wilda’s, & had supper with Beatrice. Terrible windy. Insurance man was here.

I fixed Mom’s dress I made her. We took her home in PM. Stopped at Aunt Maude’s on way. Alice Carr went home again yesterday from hospital.

Windy. I have headache. Wrote Jim. Got Martha Mowers wedding invitation.

Lazy day. Didn’t go to church. Wrote Melba & Elmer. Merrill slept all PM. Talked with Aunt Maude.

Rainy. Washed clothes. Very icy in evening. Esther Taylor called to invite me to meeting at her place. Too icy to go.

Very stormy. Snowing & blowing in PM & evening. Started Martha’s pillows. Did ironing. Queen Elizabeth has baby boy.

Sent in TV Diary. Past Grand night at Rebekahs,15 present. Washed rugs. Wrote Jim. Nice day after storm.

Merrill & I went to city. I got new coat & suit & blouse at Robert Hall’s. Got food grinder with gold stamps. Got letter from Jim.

I was sick in bed all day with horrid headache & upset stomach. Howard & Evelyn were over in evening wanting us to go to Maryland.

Rainy. I feel better today. Stork shower for Brenda Rudes at Theresa but I didn’t go. Merrill took my gift down. Took mixer back.

Wrote Jim. We went to church. We drove up to Aunt Cora & Uncle Charles in PM. Beautiful day. Called Aunt Keitha & Aunt Maude.

Sent in Christmas film. Got letter from Jim. The 3 officers that were shot down over East Germany were from his base. Jim knew all three. They are alive. I went to Past Grands at Lula Rappole’s. Merrill went to lodge. Sent Roberta card.

Snowy. Roberta’s 12th birthday. Wrote Mom, Uncle Berle, I have sore throat.

Cleaned house. Have cold. Merrill got birthday card from Mother Tryon.

Home demonstration here. 8 women present & 4 kids. Ate & played Wahoo. Election of officers: Chairman Bea, Vice Chair Betty G, Secretary Mary, Treasurer Ruth.

I went to city for groceries. Got Merrill new camera for his birthday. lnstamatic 100. Got letter from Uncle Berle. First day of spring. Cool.

Wrote Jim. Sent him Easter Card. Made Merrill birthday cake. Made cookies. Merrill got reel trouble light from June & Vern. Got several cards & letters.

Vern & June called. Snow flurries. We went to church. Kenny & Brenda were here for dinner & supper. Merrill had to push Kenny’s car to start it. Brenda made pie crust.

Saw first robin in yard. Sent Jim Easter package with cookies & cake. Merrill & I helped Vi & Margaret clean church basement. Finished Martha’s gold pillows. Merrill went to lodge.

Wrote Eleanor & sent birthday card. Got letter from Eleanor.

Called Mom. Eleanor’s birthday. I went to city, Got new hat & flat shoes. I went to lodge. Not enough for practice. Martha’s wedding rehearsal.

Juanita’s birthday. Everything covered with sleet this morning. Thunder storms early. Did ironing.

Helped Vi, Martha & Anne decorate church. Snowed during night. Quite cold & windy. Got 2300 pounds of coal today. I went to communion in evening.

Martha & Johnny’s wedding. Church was full. Beautiful wedding. Nice day but cool. Alice F & I cleaned church in forenoon. Terrible earthquake in Alaska.

Easter Sunday. I didn’t go to Easter breakfast. We went to church. Was full. We didn’t go out to Mom’s. Was too late. Finished my dress.

Wrote Jim. Got letter from Jim. He sent pictures of himself, Got ready for trip. Sent Davy card & letter. Rusty Sands’ son here in evening.

We left for Maryland at 7:00 AM. Howard & Evelyn, Merrill & I run into snow at Wheaton. Saw mushroom farms. Got to Vern & June’s at 7:45 PM. Left Teddy & bird at Kenny & Brenda’s.

We stood in line 1 hour at President Kennedy’s grave. Also Mt. Vernon. Went over to Vernon’s school in evening.

We all went to Great Falls, Dallas Airport, National Geographic building, Jefferson & Lincoln Memorials. Rained all day. June & Vern told us we are going to be grandparents.

We got home at 10:15 PM. Roads were glare ice this side of Binghamton to home. Lots of snow here. We went on tour of Hershey Chocolate plant at Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Tired. Rusty Sands was over. Kenny & Brenda were here to bring Teddy & bird home. Wrote Jim. Sent in picture films. Addie called. Also Aunt Maude, Edna, Eleanor, & Mom. Got 5 days mail. Letter from Melba & Elmer.

We went to church. Lazy day. Cold with about five inches of snow on ground.

Washed clothes. Rained all day. Got thank you card from Martha & John. Wrote Jim. Merrill went to lodge.

W.S.C.S. at Elsie Bacon’s. I went. Tommy Sawyer showed films for us. I went to city for groceries for Home Demonstration. Frogs are hollering for first tonight.

Waxed kitchen floor. Cleaned. Made cake & Jello for lodge. Esther, Hattie T, & I on committee. District Deputy E. Pickert present.

Home Demonstration here. Mrs. Adderly taught us space age food lesson. Nice lesson. 7 present. Got letter from Jim. He has a motor cycle.

Rebekah District meeting at Antwerp. 6:30 supper, 58 present. I went alone by back way. Rosemary Arnold from Natural Bridge, new DOR. Merrill & I went to Gouverneur.
