My throat very sore this morning. Rained during night. Merrill got Lynn to go after 35 bales of straw @ 35e at Lew Gracey’s.

Got letter from kids. Home Demonstration at Martha Brown’s. I couldn’t go. Ruth Eggleston called. Talked with Lula R. Got dressed for first time this week. Throat still sore. Rained. 70°. Limb came out of tree in front of house.

Wrote Jim & Dot T. We went to city for groceries. Got 2 new twin bed sheets. Uncle Charles Cross age 78 died at 8:30 AM. Edna called. Called Melba for flowers. Called Vern’s.

Kids here all day. We went up to Bossuot Funeral home at Carthage in PM. Birds are at bird house for first.

Fast time begins. Uncle Charles Cross, 78, funeral. We went to church, ate lunch at diner & on to funeral. Mother, Elmer, Melba, 2 girls, & Leon here for supper & evening. Mom called in evening.

Past Grands at Diana’s. I went. We went to city in PM. Took dry cleaning to Denny’s.

Sent Gehm’s anniversary card. Set out rose bush called Crimson Glow, by flag pole. Merrill took soil sample to Mills. Washed, ironed. Cold. Ordered paint for house roof.

W.S.C.S. District meeting at Adams. Wrote Jim. Mrs. Hutchinson, Lula, Elsie, Marg, Matt, Myrtle went with me. Very nice meeting. I went to Rebekahs in evening. Have 2 candidates. Cold.

Don & Bea Gehm’s anniversary. Snowing in morning. Ground white. Merrill & Freddie Aynes went to Ken’s for 5 ton hay @ $12.00. I had 6 here for Membership & Evangelism Committee meeting.

Merrill set out Talisman rose bush by garage. Warmer. I went to city in AM for groceries. Mom, Eleanor, & kids came in evening for night on way to Canada. Got letter from Dot. Marge Mitchell, 45, died today.

Mom, Eleanor, & kids left about 10:00. 4-H kids here for sewing. I have headache. Rainy. Eggleston’s barn dance opened tonight.

W.S.C.S. goes to Theresa church in evening. Millicient Hale went with me. 19 Philadelphia members present. Mom, Eleanor & kids came. Mom stayed. Joe & Joan Hack & kids came in evening.

Mom & I went over to Lila Ashley’s in PM. Washed rugs & made cookies. Waxed kitchen floor. Wrote Dot T. Got 13th check, $23.00.

W.S.C.S. here. 27 present. Ruth Eggleston, Mom, & Millicient Hale guests. Cold. wrote Dot T. Got letter from June.

I took Mom home. She got rugs & chair in city. We went to Aunt Keitha’s but she was away. Stopped at Basils & Paul’s.

Home Demonstration at Mary Charles Hall. Had white elephant sale. Made $11.05. Wrote Jim. Sent Mother’s day cards. Jeff was over to sew.

Raked on front yard until it got too windy. Merrill fitted ground. Finished two cotton dresses. Rainy & cold in evening. Hail storm.

Got letter from Jim. finished front lawn. Cold wind. Washed Merrill’s work clothes. Merrill got hair cut. Washed my hair.

Mother’s Day. We went to church. Went out to dinner at C-Way Turin. Came home by Alexandria Bay. Nice quiet day.

Sent cow to sale at Lowville, $219.00. Wrote Vern’s & Jim. Cut out sheer cotton dress. Got letter from Dot. Vi was down in evening to make out slips for mother & daughter banquet.

Still cold. Debbie was here to sew in evening. I went to city for groceries in AM. Merrill ordered paint for house roof. 6 gallon @ $10.00.

I went to lodge. I stopped at Mary’s on way. Debbie & Jeff were here to sew, Got letter from Rev. Piepoli about camp.

4-H Banquet at Bethany Church. I went with Dawn, Helen, & Lois W. Rained all day. 40°. Worked on sheer cotton dress.

Dr. Close at Philadelphia church. 8:00 PM. Only 15 out. Very nice slides on Rhodesia. Debbie & Jeff here to sew,

4-H today. I didn’t go. Marilyn Hall’s 18th birthday. Debbie & Jeff here to sew. I finished sheer cotton dress. Warmer. Painted Rebekah gates. Planted petunias.

Nice day. We went to church. Merrill mowed part of lawns for first this year. Larry & Cheryl Ward Cross have baby girt Bill & Linda Mattingly have baby boy. Donna H here to sew in evening.

Past Grands at Margurites. Rainy. Donna H here after school to sew. Wrote Jim.

4-H Dress review at Antwerp. 64 entries. I took kids over in PM & evening. Norma came from Rome for evening. 3 Hall girls got red, the rest got blue.

Finished sowing oats, 12 1/2 acres. Frank Payne sowed them. We went to Fry’s for tractor starter part. Wrote Vern’s.

Home Demonstration at Helen’s. Last meeting until fall. Good turn out. 13 plus 4 kids. Sent Don Gehm birthday card. Sent banquet notice to Times.

Wrote Jim in evening. Vi & I went to city for groceries for Mother & Daughter banquet. Washed & ironed. Toby Morrow & Sharon H here for lunch.

Linda Buker’s wedding. Merrill & I went to Armed Forces Day at Camp Drum. Kept Dawn in evening while Hall’s went to Ted Mack show at city. Merrill plowed garden.

Don Gehm’s birthday. We went to church. Children’s Day. Rev Hutchinson is at conference. We went out to Mom’s in PM.

Martha Brown’s anniversary. Sent her card. Wrote Dot. Got letter from Jim. He is coming after June 15th.

Made dressing in AM. Went up to church at 1:00 PM. Got home at 11:00 PM. Made $65.00 on Mother & Daughter banquet. 100 attended. Wrote Jim. Sent him $50.00 of his money.

Tired today. Went to lodge in evening for practice. Got letter from June. Merrill got new lawn mower blade at Whites, $4.28.

I planted garden. Mowed lawns. I went to city for groceries. Got Steven folding chair. Got tan sneakers. Got letter from Dot. She is going back to work. We called Vern’s in evening.

Wrote Jim in evening. Washed the car & simonized it. Merrill worked at corn ground.

Cooler. Sally Eggleston & Pete Decker married. Vi called. Baked pies & cookies. Washed my hair.

We went to Vern & June’s for picnic dinner but was cold so we ate in house. Steven is getting to be a big boy.

Howard & Evelyn’s 14th anniversary. June called. They are coming tomorrow. Frank & Judy Payne have baby girl, Laura Lee, born today.

Vern’s got here about 9:00 AM. Men planted corn all day. They brought crib from Ken’s for Steven to use here. June, Steven, & I went to city. Howard, Evelyn, & Dawn here in evening. Got letter from Dot.

Vern & Merrill finished planting corn, 11 1/2 acres. June, Steve, & I went up to Vi’s to see Jeff. John & Martha come tomorrow for summer. They left about 1:00 PM. Vern had 4:00 PM meeting.

Home Demonstration banquet at Dick Cooks. 10 of us went. We went bowling & then to the discotheque show also. Merrill fixed sluice with hot water tanks.

Wrote Jim. Sent film in. Merrill & I went to city for groceries in AM. Successful 9th space shot.

Nice day. Merrill found a water main back in night pasture. Joe was in for coffee.

Rained during night a little. We went to church. Hot, 80°, Beautiful summer day again.
