Got letter from Vernon. Grand day. Got a raise today. Go on piece work. “Jeanie” our parakeet died tonight.

Washed & ironed. Washed windows. Very warm. Lynn helped Merrill in PM. Merrill & Jim got hair cuts.

Rained hard in AM. Nellie didn’t ride at all today. Very warm.

4-H went to Kiechle’s. Jim went. Jim went to Rebekah’s election of officers. Merrill worked at Halls. D. Strader was at lodge with Aunt Maude. She & Charles came today.

Bennett’s were here. Baked cakes & cookies. We went to anniversary party for Leah & Claude at their house in evening. Nice time.

Gas truck caught fire at Hank Schell’s. Raining in evening. Wrote Marg. Got paper for grange tables.

Nellie paid me $5.00. Edna, Ann, & I, went to Burrville after cider at noon. Got letter from Vernon.

I went to Home Bureau at Josie Langto’s. Started leather billfold. Rained hard all day.

We went to senior horse show. Very good. Over 50 entries. Jim came home with J. Schell. Wrote Mom.

My appointment with Dr. McAskill. Took PM off. Have to have all new glasses. Got Merrill work frock & wool plaid coat.

Installation at Rebekah’s. Jim didn’t have to go to school. Clock stopped so I was late getting off to work. Liz didn’t ride. Nellie didn’t ride home.

Car doesn’t shift right. Stopped at Cross’ garage on way home.

Sent card & letter to Mom & Dad. We all went to show. Man Called Peter at Philadelphia in evening. Jim hurt his foot at school.

Dad & Mom’s 41st wedding anniversary. Raining all day. 12 of us from Olga gave blood. Got back to work at 2:30. Jim & I went to 4-H achievement at IOOF Hall.

Cleaned today. Pauline H was here. Merrill took car up to see about muffler. Had to order pipe for it. Kept cows in for first. Walter VanTassle was here.

We went out home for dinner. Grandpa Haggerty is still there.

LaBarges aren’t riding any more. Have a car. Merrill went to lodge. Had pristone [anti freeze] put in car. $6.50.

Snowing this morning. Ground all white. Cold. Merrill finished Hall’s barn cleaner.

Clifton “Butch” Arnold died today. Found him dead in bed. Vernon called from Oswego. Did 78 underarm darts today.
