Cold & rainy. Sent calf to sale. Got $17.47. Finished skirt. Checkered one. Evelyn Hall’s birthday.

I didn’t go to grange. We went down town at noon. No crops in yet.

Dot Allen & Vi called. Still cold today.

Warmer today. I went to Chellis’ at noon & got Merrill’s glasses.

Jim went to Crystal with Dot Allen’s and then went home with Carl to spend the night. Waxed living room & dining room floors. Jim mowed yards.

Merrill & I went to church. Went over after Jim. Ate lunch out & drove down to Bill & Vi’s camp in PM. Swell day.

Real warm today. Ben Kiechle’s was down on Paul’s motorcycle in evening.

Vi & I went to Oswego after Vernon. Nice day. We drove to Theresa in evening but store was closed. Rained.

Merrill planted first corn. Vern went to city on bus. Bought power saw. $65.00.

Got letter from Eleanor wanting us to go to city park on Sunday for a picnic.

Little water pump went up. Bennett came out & took it to Novak’s to be welded.

We went to city. We bought new stainless steel sink. $67.00. Vern got Bible from Uncle Berle.

Rained. Men finished putting in sink. Went over to Evelyn’s in evening. Worked in garden. Vern mowed lawn.

Raining & cold. Went to Novak’s after water tank. They haven’t fixed it though. Merrill went to Philadelphia with Carleton.

Flag day. Went up to Dick Ennis’ in evening to see hay balers. Nice day.

Did huge washing. Got water at Evelyn’s. Didn’t go to grange. Merrill went over to Ashley’s to see baler.

Lois, Carroll, & girls were here in evening. Washed my hair. Sent card to Mom.

Edna & I had fish fry at lunch at S&B. Past Noble Grands went to Johnnies Inn. Grand diner. Jim went to 4-H at David Rude’s.

Ironed about all day. Very hot. Washed kitchen curtains.

Father’s day. Very hot. Ate lunch at Wayside Inn. Finished ironing.

Merrill got bale loader at Ennis’. Lynn went after it for him. $175.00. Paid for kitchen rug at Wards. Merrill went to lodge.

Leah, Claude, & Priscilla were here in evening.

Edna, Ethel, & I went to Marion’s for lunch. Nice day. I went to lodge in evening. Last meeting for summer.

Cool today. Sally LaBarge quit riding today. Off work for the summer.

Warmer today. Jim went on school party at Crystal Lake. Last day of school. Vern got marks. Jim passed to 7th grade. Vern wrote Uncle Berle.

Old home day at Philadelphia. We didn’t go up at all. Bennett’s were here in evening trying to get pump going.

We went out home for dinner. Had picnic lunch in back yard. Dorland’s were there. Got strawberries at Grecco’s. $.39 per quart.

Vernon & I went to graduation at Philadelphia.

Got new kitchen rug. Men put it down in evening. Very nice.

Wilma Thomas, Nellie’s sister, is in hospital with pneumonia. Finally got pump going.

I have horrid cold. Sally & Betsy LaBarge rode to city.

Got out of work for vacation. Feel punk. Vernon is on the Dean’s list again at college.

Sick in bed about all day with cold. Merrill & Jim went to city & Greco’s after strawberries. $.39.

Very hot today. Men cleaned back room & storeroom. I’m not very peppy yet.

Did huge washing. Baked cake & cookies.

Cleaned guest bedroom & our room. Painted ceiling & end of room. Rained hard in evening. Thunder storm.

Ironed. Merrill & Jim took TV to city. Cooler today. Men didn’t work at hay today. Too wet.

Cleaned boys room. Painted floor.

Washed. Very hot. 95°. I went to Theresa & Philadelphia. Got new broom. $1.69. Got belt put in car at Cross’

We went to Black River Drive In. Cleaned hall & bathroom. Shellacked stair steps. Hot. Started haying here. Jim went swimming. Howard left for Cape Cod in evening.

Terrible hot. We all went to church. Men put TV antenna up higher. Heard first locust.

Back to work after 1 week vacation. Quite cool today. Changed me back to repairs. Memory L. started riding. Fire at Eggleston’s.

Got letter from Mom. Wrote her one. Still quite cool. Very very dry. Bad fires on Camp Drum. I got moved down stairs today.

Did darts all day. Very hot most of day.

Freeman Thibault joins Air Force today. Got TV at Shearn’s. $16.35. No riders home. Paid for sink. Stopped at Par for groceries.

Raining today. First time in ages. 1883 bales of hay in barn. Very hot & muggy all day.

I went to Gouverneur in AM for groceries. Too wet to hay it. Washed clothes. Cleaned. Jim went to 4-H at Mitchell’s.

Bennett’s were here in AM. Orv, Angie, & girls here in PM. Hot.

Cooler this morning. Merrill finished haying on small field by house. Just 17 acres yet to do.

Rosie Hardy brought her horse “Dollie” to Jim. We took her home. Men went back to Hall’s to hay it.
