Terrible headache in morning. Melba, Elmer, & 4 kids brought Mother Tryon up to stay. We went to Carthage in PM.

Joan here for dinner. We planted a lot of flowers. Elmer’s birthday.

Appointment with Dr. Kennedy at 2:15. Mother Tryon & I went to Carthage first. Dr. Kennedy found a spot on back of my eye. Vern & June called. Merrill started planting corn.

Merrill finished planting corn. Mother Tryon & I went to city for nut for water pump. Left her at Aunt Cora’s. I went to Evans Mills for exchange of collars. Joan here for supper.

We went to Aunt Cora’s, Aunt Lila’s, Rodman Cemetery, & Mom’s. Looked at monuments at city & Calcium. Jim got hair cut at Theresa.

Mother Tryon & I went to city. She ordered monument at Cozzi’s. I left her at Aunt Cora’s. Did washing & cleaning.

Melba’s birthday. Appointment with Dr. Roberts. Had eyes examined. Got to have double vision.[?] Elmer called. Hot water heater isn’t working. Got Mother Tryon a Timex watch.

Elmer’s family, Mother Tryon, & Hanson’s, Don’s, 4 oldest kids, Merrill & I went to Selkirk Park on picnic. Jim went camping at Crystal Lake.

Merrill & I went to church. Les & Beulah Hall were here for dinner. Jim & 5 boys camped out at Crystal Lake all night.

Rained during night. First in ages. I went to Dr. McOueen & had tooth out, $4.00.

Past Grands went to Sahara Fargos. 16 of us went. Nice place. I drove. Washed my hair. Merrill helped Fred LeClair get out logs.

Nice day. Got hot water heater from Sears, $79.00. Merrill got started hooking it up in evening. I went to lodge.

Had headache in morning. Pills helped. Washed & cleaned.

Jim slept at Kenny’s in tent. Made Mom birthday cake.

We had surprise birthday picnic for Mom out home. Very nice time. I made her 4 layer cake. Jim went to Joan’s to study in evening.

Cloudy. Rained some in morning. I went to Rodman. Had dry cleaning done, drapes & coat. Jim had tests.

Jim didn’t pass history so he can’t graduate. I went to Past Grands at Aunt Maude’s. Painted. Stormed during night.

Varnished living room floor. Got letter from Vern. He is driving cab.

I have headache. W.S.C.S. has chicken Bar-B-O. Jim started work at Kettles. He & kids spent night at Crystal Lake. Mr. Bush called.

Merrill finished cultivating corn. I went to city. Got thermos jug with green stamps. Got sheets.

Merrill & I met Mother Tryon, Leslie, Carl, & Elmer’s at Rodman to see monument. Uncle Sam Tiffs 79th birthday. Had picnic there. We went to Soluri’s cottage.

Merrill made boxes at LeClair’s. Raining. Jim & Gary Goodenough here for breakfast.

Graduation. Jim went to party at Ceil Allen’s cottage. Vern, June, Merrill, & I went over to Hall’s in evening. We went to city. Fred LeClair got 57 Mercury.

June’s 24th birthday. Vern & June went to Jan & Larry Corey’s. Stopped at Uncle Len’s. Howard, Evelyn, & kids were over for pizza in evening. Joan was here.

June, Vern, & I, went out home for dinner. Got 11 quarts berries from Juanita.

Evelyn’s 8th anniversary. June, Vern, & I, went to Gouverneur. Stopped at Helen & Carl’s on way home. Vern painted porch. Vern & June went out with Corey’s.

Vern & June left in morning. I did dining room floor with Spar varnish.

Waxed dining room floor over varnish. Got room settled. Merrill worked at Fred’s on wagons.

Grace & Leslie brought Mother Tryon to stay few days. Merrill & I went to Orv & Angies for dinner. Had headache in morning.

Merrill mowed hay. Mother Tryon & I went to city & Rodman. Went to Aunt Lila’s. Leslie & Grace came in evening. Here all night.

Elmer, Melba, kids & Carl came to spend 4th. Grace & Leslie, left. Boys helped Merrill hay it. Drawed first hay this year.

We had picnic in yard, dinner & supper. We went to Grasse Point State Park swimming. Jim went to Crystal Lake.

Elmer & family, Carl, & Mother Tryon left this morning. Went over to Aunt Cora’s. Washed clothes & ironed. Cold in evening. Very dry.

Cool in morning. I went to Gouverneur for groceries. Baked pies, cake, & cookies. Ironed. So very dry everywhere. No rain in ages.

Drawed hay all day. Very hot. Froze peas & beans.

Hottest day is 5 years. Jerry Ferone helped in Jim’s place. Drawed hay. Didn’t go to church.

Thunder storms during night. Rained for first in weeks. Grass green instead of brown. Joan called. Jim worked at Hyde Lake.

Slight headache in morning. Took pill. W.S.C.S. picnic here, 20 present. Mrs. Hewett, Mrs. Shipper, & Mrs. Freeman, from Antwerp attended. Joan was up.

Headache in AM. Feel lazy today. Cloudy in morning. Bilkey barn burned today at Lorraine. US received first live TV from France via Telstar.

Raining. Raining hard in evening. Merrill & I went to Gouverneur. Got oil & grease job. Got groceries. Rebekah’s had ice cream social. I went.

Friday the 13th. Washed clothes in evening. Thunder storm last night. Hit our phone. Pains in head in AM. Sent Don’s anniversary card.

Howard & Evelyn went to Francis Piper’s wedding at Rochester. Debbie & Hal stayed here all day.

Don & Juanita’s 12th anniversary. Jim & I went to church. Rose Leclair called to say some of them would be here Monday evening. Ironed.

Bill, Vi, Martha, & Arlene B left for Washington, D.C. Pauline J, Mary O’Brien, Marjorie S., Alice C, & Rose LeClair were here for picnic supper.

Rained in PM some. Washed clothes. Froze beans & raspberries.

2 car loads of us went to Camp Aldersgate for day. My first time. Was wonderful. Had supper at Betty H. Rained.

Mom has W.S.C.S. at her house today. Talked with her in evening. She wants me to take them to Michigan.
