Jim got his hair cut. Merrill & I went over to Lyle Hall’s in evening. Made chocolates. Jim went to concert & dance.

Home Bureau Christmas party at Margaret Hudson’s. Very nice. Millicent Hale went also. Jim had picture taken at city.

Evelyn & 4 kids tipped over in truck. Millicent Hale & I went to city shopping. Jim & Merrill went to city in PM. Car wheel bearing broke down at Evans Mills. Howard went after them. Headache.

Have headache. Snowed a lot last night. Roads slippery. Jim went to Mills after car, $12.25. Vern & June got here about 9:30. Roads slippery.

We all went to church. June & I made candy. Men finished bathroom. Very stormy in evening. We all went over to Hall’s in evening.

Merrill & kids went to city to finish shopping. We all went to candle light service at church. Had our tree in evening. All got lovely gifts. I got dress. Merrill tool socket set & battery charger. Jim camera. Vern clock. June serving table.

We went out lo Mom’s for dinner. Ken’s & us there. Orv & Angie & Richard came in PM. Fran Hurteau here in evening. Howard & Evelyn stopped in.

Vern & June left for Rochester about 10:30. Nice day. Kenny here all day. I went to lodge. Mrs. Mosher called Merrill about insurance. Kenny here all night.

Steve Delles is in Germany. Went November 21. Merrill called Ray Petrie about insurance. Jim went to city. Toby stayed all night with Jim.

Kenny here all day. Stayed all night. They went to Theresa. Generator quit on car. Baked pies & cake.

We started for Wolcott but was so stormy turned around in Pulaski. Fran Hurteau went with us. Stopped at Ken’s but no one was home. Jim went to Theresa in evening.

Very cold. Our car wouldn’t start. Fran Hurteau here for dinner. Howard took Jim & Fran to Theresa. Got our car going in evening. Very cold & windy.

We were planning lo take Jim to Syracuse. He got ready to go in about an hour. Kenny Rudes came to see him off. Terrible stormy all over. So Jim left on 9:17 AM bus from Philadelphia. Sure hated to see him leave for France for 3 years. He called at 12:30 from Syracuse. Flight canceled (weather) so goes by bus to Newark. Merrill & I went lo Mowers in evening. [New Years Eve] Simonds, McKeever’s. Eager’s, Ward’s, were all at Mowers. Nice time.
