Mom, Dad, Uncle Berle & Aunt Mildred were here for dinner. They stayed at Uncle Rays for supper. We went over to Aunt Maude. Aunt Maude & I went up to see Cora Haley.

Rosie was over. Washed clothes. We all went to Leah & Claude’s in evening. Rained. Talked with Helen.

Rainy & cold. Merrill, Helen & I went to city. Merrill got cross cut saw. Got new telephone book. I took Lila over town in morning. Talked with Helen, Aunt Maude.

Still raining. Merrill went after yearling bull at Shirenel’s. $175.00. Finished ironing.

Nice day. Took kids over to Helens to play. Went over town. Men drawed hay.

Helen left at 10:06 AM for home. Jim & I took her to train. Sent card to Don. Went over town. Went to show in evening. Talked with Helen. Stopped at Aunt M’s.

Nice day. Baked cakes & cookies. Merrill ordered cherries. A dirigible went over in evening. Gave myself a Toni wave.

Raining. Went out home for dinner. Was up to Barkers. Also Busters. Stopped at Dad Tryon’s. Leslie’s were there also. Kessel couldn’t come home because of the rain.

Raining & thunderstorms. Merrill went out to Adams after Kessel. Canned pie plant & pineapple.

Washed clothes. Nice day. Men went huckleberrying. Canned 6 quarts & 1 pint pineapple. Wrote Marg.

Men drawed hay. Helen called. Got frozen cherries. $6.50 at Red & White. Kessel’s’ girl friend came in evening. Got letter from Polly P.

Cleaned up what hay was cut. Quite cold towards night. Went over town. Got letter from Mrs. Ramos.

Appointment with Dr. Roberts. Merrill & I went to city. Took Kessel & Dellis to barn dance.

Have about 50 loads of hay in. Nice day. Men hayed it all day. Went to show in evening. Talked with Beulah H. Also Helen.

Took kids to Sunday School. We all went to church. Uncle Ray was over in evening.

Gouverneur Fair starts. Merrill & Kessel milked for Uncle Ray’s. Wrote Mom & Pauline. Aunt Maude called. Talked to Helen. Washed clothes & bedroom curtains.

Got Sears catalog. Baked & ironed. Terrible hot. Talked with Helen. Went over town. Aunt Maude & Uncle Ray were here. Talked with Beulah H.

Uncle Ray got a load of hay over here. Aunt Maude was over. Talked with Helen, Mrs. Hagan, & Aunt Maude.

Still hot. Merrill used Carl’s tractor & mowing machine. Got letter from Mom. Uncle Lloyd is sick. Uncle Ray’s got hay.

Rained during night. Colder. Frank Ranas cattle sale. Merrill went over awhile. Went to show in evening.

Our house almost burned from defective wiring. Carl, Keichle’s, Mrs. Hagan were here. Kessel went to Adams.

Washed clothes & started ironing. Talked with Helen & Aunt Maude. Wrote Mom. Still hot.

Finished ironing. Varnished chairs. Talked with Helen, Mrs. Hagam & Aunt Maude. Got letter from Gloria.

Kessel came back in evening. Drake’s fixed electric wiring. Was hall light that caused trouble. Awful hot. About 100°. Talked with Helen.

Terrible hot. Uncle Ray, Aunt Maude, Jim, Lila & Cheryl were here in evening. Talked with Helen.

Dad’s have house wired. Went to city in forenoon. Got chair, end table & peaches. Rained in PM. Don, Juanita & Donna were here for supper. Talked with Helen.

Cloudy & cooler. Canned peaches. Baked. Talked with Helen, Aunt Maude. Mrs. Hagan went to Massena yesterday. Her mother is ill.

Cloudy. Men drawed 2 load of hay. Didn’t go to church. Have felt awfully tired all day.

Painted sun porch & floor. Talked with Helen.

Painted kitchen wall & second coat on sun porch floor. Talked with Helen. Rainy. Got letter & pictures from Doreen.

Vernon got card from Mrs. Rawlings. Washed clothes. Talked with Helen. Mrs. Keichle is very low. Men drawed hay today.

Mrs. Keichle died about 9:00 PM. Kept John & Charles. Talked with Helen & Aunt Maude. Took Vernon out home. Stopped at Adams also.

Started painting house. John & Charles were here. Got letter from Polly. Was over to Aunt Maude’s.

Went over to Keichle’s & to show. I was awfully sick when I got home. Jim & I was over to Aunt Maude’s & over town.

John & Charles were over all day. Mrs. Keichle’s funeral.

Washed clothes. Jim & I went out home after Vernon. Stopped at Marg’s. Went to show in evening. Eleanor Hall rode to city with us.

Raining. Went to city in PM. Got new rug for boy’s room. Talked with Helen. Sent card to Florence. Canned 7 quarts tomatoes.

Ironed. Talked with Helen & Aunt Maude. Merrill started reaping barely. Talked with Aunt Maude & Lulu.

Varnished chairs & painted dining room ceiling. Talked with Helen. Vi sent Green Stamps in. Sent letter to Mrs. Hagan.

Kessel threshed at Kavanoughs. Gloria & Buddy came on 3:00 PM bus. Jack Hagan was here. Talked with Helen & Lulu. Painted chair & table. Got letter from Juanita.

Have been sick all day. Kids went to show in evening. Kessel went to city tonight. Merrill & Vernon got hair cut.

Merrill took Gloria & Buddy to city to meet bus. Went to church. Cleaned living rooms.

Washed clothes. Cleaned bedroom, bathroom & dining room floors. Rosie was here. Labor Day.

School opens. W.S.C.S. met here in PM. Had 26. Leah, Claude & Elmer was here for birthday supper with Jim. Jim got dump truck & top. Got a coat from Angie.

Jim got cards from Don’s & Gloria. Talked with Helen. Vernon only had to go to school awhile in AM & PM. Got books from Ben. Ironed.

Wrote Mom & Juanita. Men threshed at Win Bacon’s. Finally finished haying. Went to G.L.F. meeting. Won can [of] oil.

Helen & boys brought over sweet corn. Men threshed at Bechard’s. Jim not feeling good. Vernon got 10 bullheads by bridge. Beulah & Glenn have baby boy. Timothy Sheldon.

Brought the threshing machine here. Awfully hot. Jim not feeling food. Wrote Doreen. Talked with Helen & Mrs. Hagan. She’s home for weekend from Massena. Brought load of lime.

Went out home for dinner. Vernon took Mom out lamp & fish. Got plums, peaches & tomatoes & apples at Greco’s. Awfully hot. Vernon got 7 baby rabbits at Mrs. Rawlings.
