70° and 54°. A beautiful day. Not much of a breeze. Jessie here to clean. It feels so good to have the apartment all clean at once. She put my cactus plant in a new pot for me. Vi, Sally, Jessie and I all here when Charlie Came in with my lunch. He asked if we were having “An old Hen Party?” Angie, and Sally here in PM. Julie brought me soup in evening. I mailed my HEAP application.

Angie found out she only has to use the oxygen machine during the night. Nancy H called for prayer chain for Debby Sharkey. She had a breast removed and has cancer.

82° and 63°. Hot, humid and sunny. I went to exercise class. Good turn out. I got corn, melon and a peach from Farmer’s Market. Sally and Angie here. Jim called in PM. He’s going to Vermont Friday through Sunday on bike. Next weekend he goes to New Hampshire for the weekend.

72 and 53°. A great summer day. I went to church out here. Jim Nash brought me my Olan Mills picture directory from church.

65° and 61°. Cooler and cloudy. I cut my finger on can cover. Very deep. Lidia gave me a dish of spaghetti and meatballs. Good. Vi, Sally and Angie here. Vi gave me her half of Times paper renewal. Watertown’s public square is 200 years old. 1805, a big celebration all day ending with fireworks. Vern called in evening.

77° and 63°. I didn’t go to exercise class. My appointment with Dr. Weinstein at 10:15. Cheryl took me. I’m to think about having a colonoscopy. Angie brought an apple she had picked.

A nice day. Vi walked over to hospital with me. I had appointment with Mark Mazzie. Everything okay. I had blood work. Nurse Debby called in PM to say it was okay.

Hurricane Rita moving at 175 miles an hour toward Texas. Cheryl took me to Dr. Sanni at 11:15. The place was full. I ordered new right lens, $94.50 plus $23 for the exam. Vi and Angie here. Jerry Allen didn’t show up for entertainment. He’s in the hospital.

A cool, sunny day. Jessie here to clean. She shampooed my living room carpet. Vi and Angie here. Hurricane Rita almost to Texas. Flooding again in parts of New Orleans. Jolie called. She has changed jobs. Vern called in evening. They are coming tomorrow. Madison called in evening. She fell asleep on the phone. I talked with Zack and Jolie.

Sunny day. Nice. I went for coffee and donuts. Vern and June here. They took Vi and I to see the windmills in Lowville. Quite a sight to see. We watched them put the wings on one of them. Three men were high in the air working on it. We ate at Lighthouse Restaurant in Lowville. Vern’s brought me pens and a chair caddy, pie. Applesauce, jelly, frozen chicken and cards. My kids are so good to me. I wish I could do more for all of them. Hurricane not as bad as expected but bad in places.

Cloudy, rainy day. I didn’t go to church. Jim had a meeting after church. Vi and Angie were here. My glasses fell apart. Jim called in evening. He got home from New Hampshire about 6 PM. Had a good trip.

Raining all day. 68°. Last of hurricane Rita. Eye center called to say my lens was in. Perm by Shirley at 10:30. Juanita called in evening. She says Ken has prostate cancer. Juanita had just returned from a week at Dorlands. It was his 75th birthday. I called Cheryl in evening.

Cool but nice. Sunny day. I went to exercise class. New furniture arrived for library. Kinney’s man, Jim, brought my drugs. Angie here twice. Lyla called in evening. She said Dr. Mike has left Philadelphia.

A nice day. Sunny. Cheryl took me to eye center for new glasses. I had to get new frames $139 as mine couldn’t be repaired. Vi and Angie here.

67° and 47°. Windy all night with thunder in morning. Lots of damage. Power off in places. Not here. I went to exercise class. Sally and Angie here. Angie gave me soup. I washed clothes.

Frost in places over night. A beautiful day. Pauline Roggie and Donna and Connie stopped by this forenoon. Pauline is getting use to her new apartment. Angie was here. Also Vi. I sent Cheryl birthday card.

A great fall day. I baked a cake and some muffins. First time in ages. Gave some to my neighbors. Vi, Sally, and Angie here. Cheryl’s birthday.

78° and 49°. A beautiful sunny, warm day. Like summer. I went to church with Jim. Worldwide communion. A large turnout. Rev. Dora leaves on a month’s vacation tomorrow. I went to church out here in PM. Five of us plus four of them. Mrs. Smith gave us some more of her delicious cookies. Angie here in PM. Lidia gave me macaroni with meatballs. Good. I watched “Mayday” movie on TV in evening. Good movie.

77° and 48°. A perfect summer day. Sunny and warm. Sally, Angie and Vi here. Vi not seeing good. She has laryngitis.

Another great summer day. I went to exercise class. Not too many out. I took the Times, a muffin, and a piece of cake up to Vi. She’s feeling better. Helen Kiechle called. We had a great visit. Sally and Angie here. Lee fixed my washbasin.

80° and 69°. A great summer day. I went to exercise class. The pumpkins they decorated yesterday are cut. A dozen or so. I walked over to Dr. Schipic’s. I had my teeth cleaned. Vi and Angie here.

Cold all day. Vi and Angie here. I washed living room window. Public sale at Granny’s Attic today. I gave them a $5 donation. I bought some brownies. Also got a free donut. Lyla called in evening. She got my card and picture. Madison, Joie and Shawn Michael called in evening.

Cold but nice day. I didn’t go to church. I over slept. Rev. Dora away this month. Dr. Ricmer preached today. Vi, Angie and Sally here. Sally brought me cookies and Vi brought me apples. They went to Mexico and picked them. Vern called in evening. They want us to come to Oswego November 6th. They are going to Vermont for Thanksgiving.

A few showers. Cloudy all day. I went to exercise class. The Times paper said over 40,000 dead in Pakistan earthquake. So many are dead this summer around the world from hurricanes, mud slides, earthquakes and war.

Raining about all day. I went to exercise class. Angie here twice. Helicopters and soldiers from Fort Drum going to help in Pakistan quake recovery. New Hampshire flooded by heavy rains. Also mass. And New Jersey.

A rainy, windy day. I went to exercise class. Robert and Cheryl Congdon jot here about 12:45. We went to Bob Evans for lunch. Their treat. They left for home abut 6:15 PM. Jim here in PM on his bike in the rain. He brought me some cash.

53° and 30°. Partly sunny but cold. I went to exercise class. Hurricane Wilma moving slowly toward southern Florida. Angie here. Brought me soup. I hand washed my black sweater and some underwear. I took a cartful of papers, magazines to trash in basement for pickup tomorrow.

51° and 28°. A nice sunny day. A heavy killing frost overnight. Jessie here to clean. My hanging lamp broke when Jessie was cleaning it. Three hours later the electrician was here and put up nice glass and gold trim. Vi was here.

Cloudy day. Some rain. Vi and Angie both here twice. Angie gave me candy bars. Vern is chairman of a big turkey supper at Minetto Church tonight. Marion Williams broke her hip in fall.

Rainy and cloudy all day. I went to church with Jim Nash. Rev. Toby Schilling of SMC preached. Very good. Lidia brought me a piece of apple cake she baked. Angie was here in PM. I got humidifier out and going for winter season.

43° and 37°. Cloudy day. Snow in several places but not here. I stored my fans for winter. I talked with Jim. Vi here for paper. Angie here in PM. I called Vi to tell her Philadelphia UM Church news. Marilyn Rosbrook has breast cancer operation and Roseanne Lafave has colon cancer. Roseanne goes to Buffalo next week. She Boschock had her knee operation.

43° and 36°. Cloudy day. No rain. No exercise class. There was a flu clinic here today. I had mine. Vi and Angie were here. Our covered dish supper here. Small turnout but delicious food. I talked with Lyla. Jerry may have cancer on his kidney. He goes to Buffalo Wednesday.
