I went out home & gave Mom permanent. Stopped at cemetery. Dad died 2 years ago today. Juanita went to Ogdensburg. Her mother is sick.

Joe Dundle, Rose’s husband, died today. Jim didn’t go to school. Rebekah District meeting at Philadelphia. About 60 present. Sereaya[?] Sixberry is new president. I helped at Grange Hall getting ready. Snowed in evening.

Baked pies. Snowy day. Jim has throat full of canker sores. Jim went to school play in evening.

Merrill & I went over to Dindle’s in PM. Jennie & girls from Olga were there. I have had headache all day.

Washed & ironed clothes to take on trip Cold day. Merrill took car to Gouverneur for brake adjustment, tires changed etc.,, $9.00. I feel lazy today. Ken Young’s farm auction.

Washed & ironed. Joan was here for chicken supper.

Cloudy. Elmer & Rosie Gleason farm auction. Vernon Lafave bought farm. I went to city for groceries. Kenny Rudes came tonight to stay while we are gone.

Beautiful day. Baked & got stuff ready for trip. Washed my hair. Jim & Kenny went canoeing with Thorton’s canoe.

Mother Tryon, Mom, Merrill, & I left for Maryland at 7:00 AM. got there at 9:00 PM. Grand day & trip.

Joanne Gleason & Stanley Preston’s wedding. We had picnic on Potomac River. We went to Mt, Vernon, Arlington Cemetery, & around Washington.

Beautiful day. 86°. Like summer. We went to 8:00 AM church. very nice. Kids gave Easter lilies for Grandfathers. We went to Fort Meade & Washington Zoo.

We went to Gettysburg today. Saw lots of countryside. Quite windy but nice.

We left Vern & June’s at 7:30 AM. Got to Wolcott about 8:00 PM. Got home at 12:00 midnight. Nice trip. Boys got along fine.

We are tired today. Kenny went home. Nice day. Quite warm,

Beautiful day. Jim & I worked all day cleaning lawns, burning grass, & planting lilacs. Merrill built fence.

In the 80’s today. I have headache. Worked at yards in AM. Washed my hair. Merrill built fence. Joan here for lunch.

Jim & I went to city for groceries. Joan here for supper. Merrill plowed garden. 86°. Kids went to drive in. Barn dance opened for season.

We went to church. Cloudy day. Aunt Maude called.

Cloudy & rainy in morning. Washed clothes. Wrote Mom & Eleanor. Jim went back to school after vacation.

Got 13th check, $116.88. I went to W.S.C.S. meeting.

Jim had first track meet with Adams here. Joan was here for supper.

Merrill & I went to city. Merrill got new work shoes, $9.98. Rainy.

Howard & Evelyn bought Huddleston farm. Merrill went to auction. Cold. Lynn Hall quit working for Art Hall.

Jim mowed lawns for first. Merrill worked in garden. Planted peas & corn. Sewed flower seeds in boxes.

Jim & Joan went to church. Eleanor & kids were here for dinner & supper. She said Donna Roggie & Barney were married on April 28th. Mom has new electric stove.

Cold today. Washed & ironed. Washed my hair. Wrote kids.

I went to Gouverneur. Got pattern, green window boxes. Merrill has been taking out rocks. Got letter from Mom.

I have headache. Went to lodge in evening. Was on committee (Mary Hall & Bertha Gleason) Jim placed first at city track meet in discus throwing.

Sent Mother’s day cards. Merrill & I went to city. Looked at balers.

Kids got year books. Got Mother’s Day card from Vern & June. Joan was here for supper. Jim placed 1st & 2nd in track.

I worked on lodge cafeteria supper. Had charge of dining room. Made $40.00. Jim & Kenny went to city to order tux for prom.

Mr. Pilbeam’s last Sunday at Philadelphia. He retires. We all went to church. Joan also. Merrill & I went out home in PM.

Rainy. I went to Dr. Roberts. Had skull x-rays taken at Dr. Sickles.

Finished planting garden. Set out 20 raspberry plants. Washed. Jim had class picture taken for paper. Turned cows out for first day & night.

Bob Clark Lorrand [?] is dead. 8° today. Baked pies, cake, cookies, & canned rhubarb & pineapple. Jim worked at school.

I went to Dr. Roberts. x-rays are OK. Started new pills. Merrill got baler at Ennis’, $400.00. Joan & Jim worked at school.

Senior Prom. Kids looked so nice. I washed car. Went up to Philadelphia in PM to bank. Wrote Mom. Hot 80°.

I went to city for groceries. Stopped at Fran’s. Joan here in PM. Bill, Vi, Merrill, & I, went to Black River drive in. Got lounge chair, $7.97.

Jim went swimming for first to Crystal Lake. Merrill & I went to Edwards for drive. Cut my hair.

Merrill sowed first oats. Doris Aynes & Charles were here with Avon. Washed & ironed.

Merrill finished sowing 17 acres of oats. Put up flag pole. Finished ironing. Jim went to track meet at Potsdam. Washed hair but didn’t set it.

Got new telephone books. Painted flag pole, bird bath, mailbox etc. Joan here for supper. I went to lodge. Past Grands were entertained. Thunder storm during night.

Evelyn Delles’ birthday. I have headache. Merrill & I went to farewell party for Mr. & Mrs. Pilbeam. Scott Carpenter made 3 orbit space trip.

Judy Sivertson’s auction. Elsie Bacon stayed here while Win went to auction. Merrill put up flag on pole.

Jim & I went to city in AM. Firemen’s field day at Philadelphia. Aunt Maude called in evening.

Merrill & I went for drive & picnic lunch. Took Mom’s wreaths to cemetery. Jim went swimming with new mask & fins.

My back hurts quite a bit today. Washed clothes. Merrill worked at corn ground.

Swell weather. Ironed. Back still sore. Jim stayed with Kenny all night. Slept in porch.

Evelyn & Howard’s 10th anniversary. Merrill & I went to Canada with Hall’s on picnic. We went over in evening & took cake & ice cream. Jim went to Theresa & swimming.
