Talked with Evelyn S. Jennie [owner of Olga knitting mill] laid off a lot of girls tonight.

Took chairs etc. back to church. Washed & baked.

We all went out home for dinner. Quite cold all day. Stopped at Marg’s.

Froze corn. Quite cold but warmer in evening.

Raining. Had flat tire when I came out of work. Ralph Knapp & another guy changed it.

Froze corn in evening. Went to lodge. First meeting. We are putting on long drill at city, October 1st. President’s visit. Gave blood today.

Very warm. Seems good. Merrill started filling silo.

Rained during night. Vernon got through work for Rosbrook’s. Jim went to party at VanTassel’s. Merrill & I went to Antwerp. Merrill got hair cut.

We all went to city. Vern got rest of clothes. Merrill got his watch from George’s.

Vern goes back to college. Third year. We all went to Oswego. Had car loaded. Vern’s new address is 260 Washington Blvd.

Got pictures back. Rained hard in PM. I went to Past Noble Grands at Helen Dickson’s.

Jennie laid off some more of the girls. Was bad accident on Theresa Antwerp Road. 2 killed.

Washed & ironed. Canned 3 quarts of peaches.

Snowed in city. Very cold. Wrote Vern. Sent him card & letter from Uncle Berle.

Vern’s 20th birthday. Sent him birthday card. Jim left at school. Went to drill practice.

Swell day. Got $7.50 permanent at Joan’s in AM. Got pears, $2.75 & peaches, $3.25, & potatoes $1.75, Also got apples & tomatoes from truck. Washed & canned tomatoes.

Lazy day. Went to Theresa for kerosene. Put up kitchen stove.

Pouring rain when we got out of work.

Canned tomatoes & peaches. Got card from Juanita.

Carleton baled straw. Finally got dry. Not much work at Mill. Jennie sent some home. I went to lodge. Lois Ward elected Noble Grand. Zelda, Vice Grand. Practiced staff.

Jim & Marty went to Philadelphia on bikes. I went to Rudes for Jim. Nellie went back to work after having teeth out.

I went to drill practice in evening.

Canned peaches, pears, & tomatoes. Men worked at corn.

I went to city with Vi, Virginia, & Myrtle, to lodge practice. Rained. Gordon Allen’s barn burned about 12:00 AM.

Jim stayed home to drive tractor. Nice day. Assembly treasurer, Helen Barton, made official visit at city. Philadelphia put on drill. Beulah Hall is our D.D.P. I went to dinner & meeting.

Colder in evening. Rained hard today. Merrill finished filling silo. Sent Brenda card & money. Got letter from Vern.

Merrill worked at Philadelphia on “Philly Diner”. I won the pool on World Series. $4.50. (D-3)

Merrill finished work on Diner. Got $27.12. Our first installation at Theresa. I got parakeet for kids out home.

Marg’s birthday. Jennie Hays flew to Cleveland today. Bessie Hagan won $8.00 on baseball pool at hospital.

Had my hair done at Joan’s. Went to Gouverneur to have car greased. We all went. Cold & windy. I have cold.

We went out home for dinner. Dr. McAskill died yesterday of heart attack.

Helen McKay started riding. Sent Vern his watch. I have horrid cold yet.

Rained hard. Snowed some. Have felt punk all day.

I went to lodge in evening. Ada Bacon was at lodge.

Quite cold all day but sunny. Home Bureau at at Helen K. but I didn’t go.

No school. Got letter from Vern. Nice day.

Cleaned. Washed & baked. Went to Theresa for groceries. Nice day. Washed windows.

Beautiful day. Real warm. We went to church. Went for ride to Canton after church. Saw Canton college.

We installed Antwerp lodge. Went for 7:00 supper. I went to Theresa for corsages first. Swell weather.

Kind of tired tonight. Some of the Rebekah staff went to Clayton lodge tonight.

Installed Carthage lodge. I drove. Nice evening.

Got Jim engineer boots. $6.99. Quite the thing. Size 6. Swell day.

Wind is cold today. Merrill worked on Howard’s barn. Sent Mom & Dad anniversary card. Also $10.00 for Dad’s eye exam.

We went to city. Got blanket for Vernon. Had my hair done at Joan’s. Got letter from Uncle Berle.

Worked all day. Swell day. Didn’t go to church.

Installed lodge at Evans Mills. Had flat tire, a nail. Special meeting.

Raining some. First in some time. Got letter from Mom. Don is sick.

Our lodge installation. 100 present. Staff had pictures taken.

Got 9500 pounds of coal today. Tired all day.

Windy. Got note from Vernon. Got first wool skirt from shop. $2.50.
