Lodge but I didn’t go. Took down blinds in evening & rolled up rugs. They had farewell party at lodge for Ethel Tousley.

Called Ethel T. Packed stuff to move. Grand day. Home Bureau at Ina Mae McClears on gloves but I didn’t go.

Packed & got things ready to move. Grand weather. Washed windows on inside.

Moved to new home on Ore Bed Road. Freddie Aynes & Kiechles moved us. Bennetts were here in evening.

Boys went to Sunday School. Got some settling done. Boys got I.A.H. rings in Sunday school.

Took boys to school. They put in phone. Light man was here to read meter. Vernon went to play practice.

Election. Merrill voted. I didn’t go. Got dishes in china cabinet. Vernon went to play practice.

Merrill got manure spreader at Clayton. Merrill, Jim, & I went to Grange.

Ethel & Karen Tousley sail for England. School play. The Campbell’s Are Coming. We all went to play. Grand.They made $120.00. Mom came on train for play. Very cold in evening. Paul K. brought our young stock.

Nice day but cold. Mom cooked pumpkin to freeze. Did Mom’s hair. Gave her Prom permanent. Merrill worked on Vernon’s hen house. Mom ironed slip covers.

Very cold. Windy, & sleet. Set up kitchen oil burner. Baked pies, cakes, & cookies.

Boys went to Sunday School. Moved Vernon’s chickens. Merrill & I took Mom home in evening. Raining.

Washed & did part of ironing. Merrill got rest of stuff from other place with tractor & wagon.

Grand day. Merrill & I took calf to Gouverneur. Went to city. Got linoleum for hall. $20.80. Jim went home with Martin Rudes for night.

Rebekah’s. I went. No school. Merrill & Vernon cleaned yards. Cut brush. Got last of stuff from other place.

P.T.A. in evening. I went. Jim came home from Rudes. Put up our mailbox. Cleaned living room. Painted mailbox & front door.

Friday the 13th. Jim came home from school with sore throat. Cleaned stair steps & shellacked them. Went with Vernon up to Webb’s after eggs.

Bennett’s were here. Roy & Marg came for dinner & supper. Louie Rappole was here about farm bureau dues.

Boys went to Sunday school. We all went to church. Grand day. Bill, Vi, & Martha, were here in evening. Vi helped me with my gloves.

Helen Ramos 14th birthday. Washed & ironed. Vernon was sick & didn’t go to school. Merrill went to lodge.

Worked at my gloves. Merrill did some more plowing.

Marguerite Beach went to hospital. Finished ironing. Merrill & I went to Gouverneur Christmas shopping. Vernon had college physical from Dr. Penhallow. Jim, Merrill, & I, went to Grange.

Uncle Earle’s birthday. Worked at my bedroom. Grand day.Went to Home Bureau at Thibault’s. Cake lesson. Enrolled in adult education classes.

Ethel H. Shultz’s birthday. Real warm. 70° Just like summer. Merrill started cutting cellar door. Mrs. Kiechle called. Vern went to Times radio station with class.

My birthday. 36 years. Cloudy. Merrill finished cutting cellar door. Got birthday card & letters from Mom, Marg, & Uncle Berle. We all went to 4-H at Neville’s.

Grand day. Like summer. Boys went to Sunday School. We all went to Church. Washed car. Lula R. & Emma were here in PM.

Washed & ironed. Rained hard all night. Merrill went to lodge. Wrote Mom, Angie, & Marguerite Beach. I got birthday card from Mom & Dad Tryon.

I was sick all day with sick headache. Merrill put sheet rock on cellar way.

Baked cakes & cookies & jelly roll. Went to lodge. Was on supper committee with Bertha G. & Arlene Reynolds. Had cake & tea.

Thanksgiving. We went out home for dinner. Don’s, Dad’s, & us there. Went up to Barker’s awhile. Saw Dorothy, Buster, & Evelyn. Nice day.

Ground covered with snow. Plow was by. We all went to Olympic [theater] to see first cinemascope movie, “The Robe”. Wonderful picture.

Baked pies & cake. Flood children were here. Jim practiced basketball at school.

Boys went to Sunday School. Merrill has sore eye. I was sick in PM & evening. with sore throat. Jim was kicked in head by cow.

Washed & ironed. Vern got hair cut. (90¢ now) Merrill went to lodge. Mopped & waxed kitchen floor.

Cleaned. W.S.C.S. but I didn’t go. Jim was home sick with head ache from cow kick.

Merrill & I went to Gouverneur shopping. Merrill, Jim, & I went to Juvenile Grange in evening.

Adult education classes start. I went to typing class & Merrill to shop class. I went up & stayed with Beulah Hall all day. She is coming along good.

George Henderson killed our beef & Bennett’s pig. Raining. I baked cookies, cakes, & pie.

Vernon took college entrance exam at city high school. Merrill, Jim, & I went out home after Xmas tree. Took pork out to them.

Boys went to Sunday School. Helen & Marion F. were here in PM. Merrill finished clipping cows.

Washed & ironed. Merrill started cutting up beef.

Wrapped meat. Took 35 pounds of meat to Ashley’s to have ground. Nice day.

Rebekah’s. I went to lodge. Grange conference at YMCA all day. I didn’t go as we did beef. Billy Matt came home with Jim for supper.

Roy’s 51st birthday. Worked at beef. Merrill & I went to adult education in evening. I also went to P.T.A. Set up Christmas tree.

Our 18th anniversary. Finished cutting beef today. Got first Christmas card from Borden’s. I have lame shoulders.

4-H Christmas party at Richard Pikes. Merrill & Jim went. I was sick in bed all day. Jim got hair cut.

I’m not too peppy today. Boys went to Sunday School. Did up some gifts.

P.N.G. Christmas party at Eva Delles. I was elected Vice President. Nice time. Rainy. Merrill & I went out home & to city.

Home Bureau Christmas party. Nice time. 14 there at Mary Beebe’s. Merrill & I went to city. Took Vernon’s roosters to Smiths @.30.

Grange Christmas meeting. Merrill, Jim, & I went. Cold. Mr. Pilbeam called in AM. First time at our new home.
