Helen B., Vi, & I, went to Gouverneur in AM. Took calf. Stopped at Flossie White’s. Very hot. Washed & ironed clothes in PM & evening.

Night blooming Sirius had 1 blossom on. Very hot & humid. Helen went home on 9:45 train. Vernon finished dressing off hens. Washed bedding on Helen’s bed. Sent cards to Pearl B., Dot, Arlene, & Myrtle Duff.

Merrill, Jim, & I, went to city. Got my new glass put in old frames. $12.00. Rained during night. First in some time.

Much cooler. Baked all day long. Cleaned.

Cool. Bennett’s were here in AM. Went down to see farm. Drawed hay in evening.

End of Korean War. Signed treaty. Don’s birthday. We went out home for dinner. Ken’s were there. Also stopped at Bennett’s & told them we’d take the farm.

Cloudy. Didn’t wash. froze string beans. Had cucumbers from garden for first.

Washed & ironed. Carl & Stan & boys were here helping with hay. I stopped to see Myrtle today.

Merrill finished baling for this year. Have a lot of hay to draw yet. Beulah H, Lois, Carroll, Merrill, & I went to lodge at city. President made her visit.

Grand day. Drawed hay all day. Signed for Gouverneur paper from Aunt Lou. $3.00.

Finished haying. Put a lot in back barn. Loads of hay this year. Grand day.

Antwerp 100 year celebration. We went over in AM to PM & evening. Very nice. Grand day & grand crowd. I had head ache about all day.

Nice but cool. Oren & Edith were here in PM. Had nice visit. Went for drive at camp. Edith had never seen it.

Washed & ironed. Merrill combined timothy seed.

Raining today. First in ages. Power was off for one hour in PM. Pearl B. & Helen called. Vern got pullet egg for first.

G.L.F. party at legion. We all went. Made doughnuts.

We got invitation to Old Home Days at Lorraine Methodist Church. 100 years. Went to farm. Found out about school bus. Nice day. Merrill finished combining timothy. Canned pickles.

Cleaned kitchen. Baked cake & cookies. Wrote Mother Tryon.

100th anniversary of Methodist Church at Lorraine. Merrill helped Kiechle’s chop hay & put in barn here for bedding.

Haggerty reunion at Grasse Point. 74 present. Quite a few from Canada. Elected same officers. Jim, Merrill, & I went over to Helen & Carl’s.

Raining all day. We all went to city. Boys got school clothes. Wrote Mom. Sent in 2 films.

We all went to Gouverneur fair all day. Saw rodeo. 10,000 people there. Grand day. Finished mending overalls. Got letter from Angie. Took calf to sale.

Nice day. Washed. Merrill started combining oats. Not very good.

I went over to Beulah’s in PM to card party. Ironed in evening.

Ironed clothes. Bennett’s were here in evening. David T was here for supper. Went over to Beulah’s to plan ice cream social.

Vern went blackberrying in AM. We all went in evening. Froze 19 packages. Vern dressed 4 roosters to sell.

Juanita gave us Brenda’s picture. We went out home for dinner. Left Jim out there. Gave Juanita Prom permanent. Thunder shower in evening. Vern got 6 pullet eggs.

Merrill & I went to city. Took calf to sale at city. Got bushel of peaches. $2.99. Merrill went down to farm to see cows at chore time. Merrill & Vern went over to Carl’s in evening. Got pictures. Froze peaches. Called several about social. Gave myself “Prom” Super.

Froze peaches & Swiss chard. Gave myself touch up prom of Juanita’s. Merrill & Vern went to Mills to see tractor. Everett Beach went crazy in evening. Janice Beach’s 18th birthday. Cold. Went over town in evening.

Merrill & I went to Grange. Merrill & Vernon went blackberrying.

Ice cream social. Beulah, Vi, & I, went over & worked at church in PM. Had good turnout to social. Made $40.00. Kind of cool. Got card from Jim.

Washed. Nice day. Warmer. Merrill mowed hay for bedding across tracks for Carl.

Ironed. Baked cake for Grange supper. Took Vern over to get hair cut in evening. Helen was here few minutes in AM. Belva Fikes got married today.

Merrill & I went to Wolcott to see Mother & Dad Tryon. Also went to Beulah’s. Stopped at Ken’s. Got one bushel peaches. $3.00. Vernon did milking.

Took calf to sale to city. Merrill, Vernon, & I went. Got gift for Evelyn B. Got corduroy for jacket for Jim. Canned peaches in PM.

Awful tired today. Vern worked on suit case. Very nice. Helen was here few minutes. Their cows got in with ours. Merrill started plowing.

Canned black berries. Washed, ironed, baked, & cleaned upstairs. Doris Webb & Audrey Miller were here selling magazines.

Merrill helped Shorty Hill at Mills. Froze corn. Vern put plastic on suit case. Very hot. Made doughnuts. Cleaned. Merrill not feeling good.

Eleanor & Roberta brought Jim home & Dad & Mom out. Quite warm. Eleanor was here for supper. Lila & Jim Ashley have baby boy Gary Michael.

Mom, Dad, Merrill & I left for Canada at 8:30 AM. Had dinner at Charlie & Doris Strader’s. Supper at George Peterson’s. Stayed all night at Olive Bowman’s. I was sick in evening. We went by ferry.

We had dinner at Beatrice’s. Supper at Mrs. Fairgraves. Got home at 9:30 by bridge. Wonderful trip.

Arthur Godfrey’s 50th birthday. Took Mom & Dad home. Was out there for dinner. Hot. Took calf to sale.

Washed clothes. Got bushel of pears from guy from Fulton. (Wallace) $3.25. Hot.

Jim’s 10th birthday. Had 4-H club here for birthday party. Nice party. Ate out doors. Made Jim cake. He got a lot of nice presents. Vernon helped paint at church.

I was sick in bed all day. Headache & sick to my stomach. 119° today. Sent knob & letter to Uncle Berle.

Stormed in morning but sill very hot. Feeling better but weak. Froze pears. Went over to Vi’s to plan lodge supper.

Cheryl & Vickie & Cathy were here for dinner. Raining about all day.

Vernon painted bicycle black. Colder today. Ate our dinner in back yard. Cut out Jim’s sport coat. Canned 4 quarts of pears. David & Debbie Hagan were here in PM.

Labor day. Stayed home all day. Washed & ironed. Merrill plowed.
