Helen B., Vi, & I, went to Gouverneur in AM. Took calf. Stopped at Flossie White’s. Very hot. Washed & ironed clothes in PM & evening.

Night blooming Sirius had 1 blossom on. Very hot & humid. Helen went home on 9:45 train. Vernon finished dressing off hens. Washed bedding on Helen’s bed. Sent cards to Pearl B., Dot, Arlene, & Myrtle Duff.

Merrill, Jim, & I, went to city. Got my new glass put in old frames. $12.00. Rained during night. First in some time.

End of Korean War. Signed treaty. Don’s birthday. We went out home for dinner. Ken’s were there. Also stopped at Bennett’s & told them we’d take the farm.

Merrill finished baling for this year. Have a lot of hay to draw yet. Beulah H, Lois, Carroll, Merrill, & I went to lodge at city. President made her visit.

Antwerp 100 year celebration. We went over in AM to PM & evening. Very nice. Grand day & grand crowd. I had head ache about all day.

We got invitation to Old Home Days at Lorraine Methodist Church. 100 years. Went to farm. Found out about school bus. Nice day. Merrill finished combining timothy. Canned pickles.

100th anniversary of Methodist Church at Lorraine. Merrill helped Kiechle’s chop hay & put in barn here for bedding.

Haggerty reunion at Grasse Point. 74 present. Quite a few from Canada. Elected same officers. Jim, Merrill, & I went over to Helen & Carl’s.

We all went to Gouverneur fair all day. Saw rodeo. 10,000 people there. Grand day. Finished mending overalls. Got letter from Angie. Took calf to sale.

Juanita gave us Brenda’s picture. We went out home for dinner. Left Jim out there. Gave Juanita Prom permanent. Thunder shower in evening. Vern got 6 pullet eggs.

Merrill & I went to city. Took calf to sale at city. Got bushel of peaches. $2.99. Merrill went down to farm to see cows at chore time. Merrill & Vern went over to Carl’s in evening. Got pictures. Froze peaches. Called several about social. Gave myself “Prom” Super.

Froze peaches & Swiss chard. Gave myself touch up prom of Juanita’s. Merrill & Vern went to Mills to see tractor. Everett Beach went crazy in evening. Janice Beach’s 18th birthday. Cold. Went over town in evening.

Eleanor & Roberta brought Jim home & Dad & Mom out. Quite warm. Eleanor was here for supper. Lila & Jim Ashley have baby boy Gary Michael.

Mom, Dad, Merrill & I left for Canada at 8:30 AM. Had dinner at Charlie & Doris Strader’s. Supper at George Peterson’s. Stayed all night at Olive Bowman’s. I was sick in evening. We went by ferry.

Jim’s 10th birthday. Had 4-H club here for birthday party. Nice party. Ate out doors. Made Jim cake. He got a lot of nice presents. Vernon helped paint at church.
