Terrible thunder showers this morning. We went out home. Merrill took Dad to Adams. We mowed yards. They haven’t found any trace of Jack Shelmedine yet.

Nice day after all the rain. Cool. Boys & I went huckleberrying. Vi, & Jessie K. & Martha went too.

Nice day. Drawed quite a lot of hay. Worked until 10:00 PM drawing hay. Rained again in evening. Froze some peas.

Washed & ironed. Baked pies & cakes. Painted front porch 2nd coat. Bolts in baler broke so Merrill had to go to Mills for them. Quite warm.

Another real warm day. Got 6 chickens ready for freezer. Waxed kitchen & bedroom floors. Merrill went to Mills again for links for baler. Killed 4 chickens in evening.

Stanley Party. Not many here but had $38.00 order. Made $6.00 for Home Bureau. Drawed hay. Awfully hot.

Merrill & I went with Grangers & IOOF to call at Holmes. Drawed hay all day. Helen gave me peas to freeze. Also froze Swiss chard & beans.

W.S.C.S. but I didn’t go. Aunt Maude & Vickie were over. Went to Adams to see Carl. He got home from Korea August 3rd. He gave me linen table cloth. Merrill smoking jacket.

Rained hard in morning. We went to city after boy’s pictures. Got bushel of peaches. $3.25. Rosie Halbert & kids were here in PM. We went to North Side Drive In [theater] in evening for first time. Saw.Yank in Korea.
