Grandmother’s Diary…

78° and 51°. A great day. Vi here. Also Sally. Angie here. She gave me sweet corn for supper. Good. Cheryl called. She wants Vi and I to go to Philadelphia next Sunday.

A nice day but rained in evening. Some thunder. Angie here three different times. My appointment with Dr. LaPoint at 9:45. I took Para Transit bus. She started me on vitamin D 1000. My cholesterol up but good report on everything else.

Cooler. Partly cloudy. Vi and her granddaughters here for Times paper. Shawn Michael and his friend here in PM. He had to go to work at 4 o’clock. He is such a good looking young man, he has a car now. Angie here. Bill Clinton returned fro North Korea with captured journalist, Lee and Ling.

A nice day. I went to exercise class. Mark Plumpton had a fire in his apartment last night at midnight. A fry pan caught fire. I didn’t hear anything. I went to bed at 11:30. Several fire trucks came.

74° and 43°. A sunny day. Vi here. Jolie called from Carla’s in Ohio. I talked with Madison. Granny’s Attic public sale today.

A cloudy day. Debby and Juanita here for a while in AM. They had the McEwen reunion on Sunday. I talked with Crystal at Lorraine on the phone. Vi Mowers and I went to Philadelphia with Cheryl. Philadelphia has grown so much. It seemed like a different place. We ate lunch at Philadelphia diner. Saw Betty and Quentin Rudes there. We went to Lyla’s and Cheryl’s apartment and stopped in to see Duane Riley. Shirley Scrimminger and Marge Prowl came to Cheryl’s to see us. Mary Hall came to Lyla’s. We had ice cream at Cheryl’s we got home about 6 PM. We went to see the new Child’s Falls Park. A wonderful day but a busy one.

A rainy morning. Tom Dawley here to give me new Lifenet Outfit. A girl helper with him. I called Jim. Angie here in PM. Gave me corn. Very good. Vi went to Albany to hear Danny O’Donnell sing. $180 bus trip. She got home at 11:30 PM. Madison called me in P. she said Jolie was at work.

A hot sunny day. I walked over to hospital with Vi for her blood work. Cathy here to clean. We went to the store. Jim and Tracy here in evening. He brought me some quarters.

Still very warm. I went to exercise class. Angie here. Mary DeBault 92 died today. Vernon called in PM. He and June are coming Friday, August 28 for picnic on St. Lawrence River. I called Vi.

It rained during the night. Cooler today. Vi here in AM. Sally here in evening. I got cemetery pictures from Esther. She called in evening. Jolie called. She ahs gone back to work.

A nice day. I went to exercise class. Vi here. Also Sally and Angie. Our Centennial picnic catered by Schuler’s restaurant. Very good. Marshall entertained afterwards.

Not a bad day. A little cooler. It is in the paper this morning abut Douglas Smith age 72 dying suddenly while the police were helping him round up a bull. They found out he had over 100 cats in the house. Debby called. She has learned that Linda Hanson is related to Bruce Hanson. Angie here. Also Vi.

A fairly nice day. Vi here. Angie brought me piece of blueberry pie. Sally here for hand soap.

She had been to a birthday party for Sharon’s twins and died after returning home she will be missed. I called VI. Also Jim and Vern. We say Mary at Lyla’s two weeks ago and had such a nice visit. Angie was here.

76° and 67° Cooler today a little. We had a fireman come and speak on fire safely. Good turn out. I washed clothes in PM. I called Jim. He will take Vi and me to Mary’s funeral. Vi here.

A nice day. Mary Hall’s funeral at Philadelphia church at 10 AM. Jim too me. Vi didn’t go with us. A large funeral church full. Mary planned everything. Most her relatives. A lovely service. Cathy here to clean after I got home. Angie here in evening. She has a cold. I got Kath Boschock’s wedding invitation for October 17th. Joel called. Also Lyla.

74° and 49°. A nice day. Vern and June got here about 11 AM. They took Vi Mowers and me up to Alex Bay on a picnic. They brought it all. We ate in the grounds by the pavilion. The river was so beautiful. It is so great to get to the river again. Merrill and I love to o up there. Joie and Madison called.

He and June leave on 3000 mile trip tomorrow. Steve is going to stay with their two cats. Today is Jordan’s birthday.

A nice sunny day. I had blood work at hospital. Vi walked over with me. Today is Jim’s 66th birthday. I called him in PM. Vern and June left on their Nova Scotia trip. I got first bill on the Lifenet from tom Dawley. $30. Jolie called in evening after I went to bed. She couldn’t get her dad on the phone.

Another beautiful summer day. I watched Jerry Lewis telethon abut all day. No company today. I’ve had a pain in my right side all day. It goes away when I sit down.

Great weather. I went to exercise class. Good turn out. Muriel gave us two tomatoes from her garden. I got card from Vern and June fro Maine. They had some car trouble but all is well. Angie here. I went to Centennial meeting at 4 PM.

A sunny day. Juanita called this morning. Vi here. Also Angie. She gave me apples. Jim from Kinney’s brought my medicines. Today is the 8th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on our country.

A cloudy morning. Sally here. Also Vi. Jim and Tracy here in evening. She had her cat with her. A Manx weights 19 pounds. A nice cat. No tail. Jim had his laptop. Showed pictures of his newly painted house and barn. Looks great. Vern and June will be home tomorrow.

A few showers this morning. Jim and Tracy here. They brought Vi and I cider and donuts from Burrville. Very good. Jim Nash here. Also Vi. I took cider and donuts to Vi’s. Vern and June got home today.

I didn’t go to exercise class. I’m not feeling too good. Vi here. Also Angie. I took trash down to basement. I got notes of Vern and June’s trip to Nova Scotia. It was a great job by June and I felt I was on the trip with them. It was a 12 day and 2448 mile trip from September 2 – September 14, 2009.

Raining this morning. Sunny in PM. Angie here. Also Sally a few minutes. I got birthday card ready to send to Vernon.

80° and 60°. A nice sunny day. Vern’s 73rd birthday. Vi her for paper. Las day of summer. Vern called tonight. I was getting ready to call him. June was at a meeting. He said June’s breathing wasn’t good. The oldest living man is 112 years old today also.
