Merrill finished combining our oats. Very hot & muggy. Jim had a bad hay fever attack during night. 3 AM.

Cooler this afternoon. Seems good. Merrill combined at Norton’s. Joan was here for supper. Jim got “charlie horse” in leg during practice.

First lodge meeting. Good turn out. Very hot. Got my hair done at Mrs. Brutom’s [?]for first.

Stormed during night. Very hot & windy. Rained in evening.

Still very hot. Got groceries. Kids went to show with Marty. His 17th birthday.

Rebekah all County meeting at Alexandria Bay, 160 present. Cooler.

Jim & Joan went to church at Philadelphia. Merrill & I went for ride in PM. I have headache. Elmer & Melba have baby boy, Leon Preston.

Made banana bread & salad for tomorrow night.

Past Grands at Helen Dickson’s. She & I on committee, 15 present. Nice time. Sent card & money to Vern.

I have horrid cold. Hurricane Esther on way up coast. Governor Rockefeller in city today.

Vern’s 25th birthday. Hurricane Esther not as bad as expected. My cold better tonight. Merrill raked straw for Fred L.

Very warm. Got groceries. Joan was here for supper. Washed my hair in evening.

Zelda, 2 boys, & I, went to football game at Martin Central. Very warm. Got new winter tires, 2 for $50.00.

Wonderful day. Jim, Joan, Merrill, & I, went to Wolcott. Saw Elmer’s new baby boy. Mr. & Mrs. Gehm were here when we got home. Leah & Claude’s open house for 25th anniversary.

Merrill helped fill silo at Howard’s.

Raining in morning. Cold in evening. Had furnace fire in evening. Fred LeClair here filling silo. Got truck battery at Sears, $3.98.

Men filled silo here. I went to football game with McKeever’s to Belleville.

Swell day. Jim put snow tires on car. Fred LeClair & Joe Aldrich here for dinner. Men finished filling silo with Sudan grass. Jim went to Joan’s in evening.

Jim & Joan went to church. They white washed barn, $19.00. Joan & Jim went to her grandfather’s for dinner.

Our first Rebekah installation at Antwerp. I went alone from here.

Cold & raining. Venton’s barn burned at Mill. Jim had senior picture taken at school.

We installed Carthage lodge. I drove. Joan was here for supper.

Joan took scholarship exam at school. Warmer. Merrill helped fill silo at Fred’s.

Quite warm. Indian River lost football game to Adams Center. I came home early to go to it. Merrill worked at LeClairs.

Beautiful day. We installed Sacketts Harbor lodge in evening. Had 6:30 dinner at Sacketts Inn. Kenny here for supper.

I was sick in bed all day. Jim called Mom to say we wouldn’t be out. Very warm.

Yankee’s won World Series from Cincinnati Reds in 5th game. Quite warm. Jim got picture proofs. Merrill finished helping Fred fill silo.

Installation at Natural Bridge. I went with Lois Ward. Joan took road test. Passed.

Installation at Lodge. About 85 present. Ate at Grange Hall. Very warm. Sacketts Harbor staff installed us. I’m color bearer.

No school. Very warm. Merrill worked on porch at Kettles. Joan here for supper. Got letter from Vern & June. Vern has new electric typewriter.

Football game at Sacketts Harbor. I went to Gouverneur for spring for Jim’s car. Got speeding ticket. Joan here for supper. They went to show. Merrill got 3 bottom plows, $150.00.

Jim & Joan went to church at Philadelphia. Merrill & I went out home for dinner. Finished wash. Waxed kitchen floor. Snow flurries in evening.

Rebekah installation at Evans Mills. Good turn out, 80-90. Had pictures taken. Quite warm.
