Washed clothes. Leah brought Pierce over to play with Helen. Carol Ward’s & Simond’s were here in evening.

Canned 30 pounds frozen cherries. Made cherry jelly.

Canned 3 pints raspberries. Made raspberry jam. Did Ironing.

Baked cookies & cakes. We went up to the park in evening & to Drive In theater. Saw Bambi.

Simond’s & Tryon’s went to Alexandria Bay on picnic. Kids went around Islands. Had wonderful time.

Helen’s last day here. Goes home tomorrow. Raining. Washed clothes & ironed. Helen, Jim, & I went over town.

Helen left today on 9:50 train. She didn’t want to go. Finished haying today. Dick Scee has new son born today.

Gave myself a Toni Wave. Mom called & said lightning struck out there today. Did some damage. Men drawed out logs today. Muggy today.

Talked with Aunt Maude, Beulah, Margaret, Vi, & Lula. Awfully hot. Canned beans. Home Bureau picnic at Childs’ Falls. I didn’t go. Merrill & I went to city in forenoon.

Still awfully hot. Started reaping oats today. Grass hoppers are ruining it. Dick Scee has new son born July 25. Ronald Irwin. Boys got card from Uncle Berle. Washed.

Still hot. Did ironing. Baked pies & cake. Kessel went to show. Merrill cut hay for timothy seed. Rained in evening.

Oren, Edith, & Ronnie were here for dinner. Went down to see Juanita in evening at Dexter. Cooler today. Called Mom.

Washed & ironed. Made bread & butter pickles. Merrill reaped barley.

W.S.C.S. meeting at Lula Rappole. I didn’t go. Men finished reaping. Started threshing at Kavanough’s. Edmund Keller & family were here in evening. Also Uncle Ray.

Mother, boys, & I went to Canada over International Bridge. Went to Geraldine’s. Had dinner with Pearl Pitt. Supper with Everett & Ella. Boys slept over store with Everett’s. Mom & I stayed at Arnold’s house. Laura was to hospital with Nelda.

Went to Uncle Rumsey’s for a short time. Then to Olive’s & Wilhemina’s. Dinner at Olive’s (Olive Bowman) & supper at Wilhemina’s. (Wilhemina Black) Then back to Uncle Rumsey’s to spend the night. Boys got on roof at Wilhemina’s. Vernon fell out of bed.

Went to Dorothy McGuay’s for dinner. She had threshers. Vern helped George bind oats. Went to Mae’s for supper. Then to Charles. Went to Beatrice Holmes & back to Charles’ to stay all night.

Started home about 9:00. Went to Carrie Janick’s. Also Megan Seeley’s. Went to Iroquois to see freighter go through locks. [St. Lawrence Seaway] Got home about 4:00. Uncle Ray’s & Cheryl were here in evening.

Don came after Mom. They were here for dinner & supper.

Threshed. 664 bushel. Awfully hot. Bad fire on Pine Camp. Esther, kids, & Mrs. Kiechle were here.

Washed clothes. Awfully hot 98°. Grass hoppers so thick, hate to go out doors. Merrill got garden hose. 3rd one $3.50. Boys got cards from Uncle Berle. Canned 2 1/2 quarts berries and 14 pickles.

Fire burning terrible on Camp. Sent in 2 films. Wrote Uncle Berle, Mom, Juanita, & Marg. Still 98°. Went up on plains to see fire.

Went backberrying in evening. Still hot. Men helped thresh at Hardy’s.

Merrill, Kessel, & I went to Iroquois. Went by bridge & home by ferry. Had nice trip. Went over to Perrin Kiechle’s in evening.

Did ironing. Baked pies & cakes. Mowed church lawn. Went berrying. Got 6 quarts.

Leah, Claude, & kids & us went on picnic. Went to Bill & Vi’s cottage at Chaumont. [Went to] Sackets, Henderson Harbor, &Southwicks. Ate dinner at Southwicks. Left Vernon at Dad’s. Stopped at city park on way home. Had grand time.

Men threshed at Hardy’s. Washed & ironed. Canned blackberry jam.

Merrill & I went to Beulah’s for dinner & supper. Jim stayed at Moms. Gloria & Marilyn came home with us. Got home at 3:30 AM.

Cloudy. Everybody is sleepy. Girls & I went up to Pine Camp. Got Vernon baby Brownie camera. $2.75.

Rained all night & all day today. Merrill took calf to sale. Girls & I went to city. We went to show in evening. Free show from Jerry’s gas station.

Took girls & Kessel to city to catch Rochester bus. Went out home after Vernon. Stayed for dinner. Juanita & Donna were there. Very cold. Started furnace fire. We went berrying. Got bushel of tomatoes & apples. Got pictures.

All by ourselves for first time this summer. Still cool. Canned 15 quarts tomatoes & 2 quarts blackberries.

Uncle Ray was over in morning. Took our lunch & went up to Benson Mines for drive. Went to show in evening. Mexican Hayride.

Merrill & I went to city for part for washing machine. Got set of 4 sauce pans with Green Stamps. Merrill painted on barn roofs.

Washed clothes. Canned tomatoes. 21 quarts. Vernon went to fair with Ben. Took out hospitalization policy.

Went over to Lila’s & got Vickie & Cheryl. Lila had silo fillers. Aunt Maude went berrying. Girls were here all day. Jim & I went over town in evening. Merrill helped build silo at Rappole’s.

Uncle Berle starts for home today. Beulah called & said 3 of the boys were coming on 2:00 bus. Merrill helped build silo at Rappole’s. I met boys in city.Had fire in our meadow. Called fire company. Helen & Jane were here.

Merrill filled silo at Webb’s. Quite warm today. Boys went to show in evening. Ironed clothes. Baked.

Baked pies, cakes, & cookies. Real warm. Bad tornado in Florida. Talked with Leah, Aunt Maude & Helen.

Cloudy. Went on picnic to park. Boys had a grand time. Have terrible back ache this evening.

Canned peaches. Rained all day.

Helen Kiechle’s birthday (30 years). Milking machine pump went up. Got new one at city. Wrote Marilyn.

Merrill filled silo at Win Bacon’s. Got letter from Beulah. We went to show in evening.

Took boys to bus. (9:30). Made pie for Grange supper. Went to GLF show at Town Hall. Got Jim clothes & dinner pail. [lunch box]

Jim’s birthday. Got him dinner pail & overalls & shirt. Made him cake. Went to Drake’s party at Town hall.

Made me green & white blouse. Merrill painted on barn roofs.

We all went to church. First church since vacation. Talked with Mom in evening.

Ancil’s birthday. Labor Day. We went out home for dinner. Stopped to see Uncle Berle. He gave me picture he got in California. Merrill went to Lodge. First meeting.

It is in paper that Baxter Macklin has his divorce from Beulah. First day of school. Jim started school today. I went to W.S.C.S. at Leah’s. Was on committee. Got Jim $6.63 of books.

Canned plums & pears. Merrill helped fill silo at Bechards. Not feeling too peppy. Colder. Grange election of officers. We didn’t go.
