Decoration Day. Went to church. Mr. Heatherington preached for first time. Went to Bill Keller’s funeral.

Mr. & Mrs. Suits farewell party at church. We went. We went over in PM & set tables & got flowers.

Made blouse. Made ginger bread for Grange. We went to Grange in evening.

Talked with Helen. Nice warm day. Jim & I planted sweet corn across tracks. Was over to Helen’s. Aunt Maude was over. Ceil & Howard were here after oats.

Talked with Beulah, Alice, Mrs.Ronas, Vi, Aunt Maude, & Lula. Uncle Ray’s birthday. Went over town twice. Was over to Aunt Maude’s. Aunt Maude & I went to shower for Lois.

Men finished springs work. Went over to Aunt Maude’s in evening for Uncle Ray’s birthday. Men went fishing. Got 9. Aunt Maude got letter saying Baxter had left Beulah.

Ironed & baked. Went over town after groceries. Men buzzed wood.

Went out home for dinner. Went down to Ken’s in PM. Helen, Carl & boys were over in evening.

Washed. Raining. Ironed until after 11:00 PM. Merrill went to Lodge. had farewell for Mr. Suits at Lodge. Mr. Heatherington was there also.

Vi & I went to city for gift for Uncle Rays. Still raining. Talked with Aunt Maude.

Went to Lodge. Aunt Maude acted as Noble Grand. Cleaned for party.

Uncle Ray & Aunt Maude’s anniversary party here. Was 30 here. Gave them lamp. Milk tester & wife arrived with trailer.

Merrill got new rubber tired wagon. $200.00. Aunt Maude & Uncle Ray’s 25th anniversary. They left for trip to Canada. Grandpa [Albert Haggerty] came over here to stay while they are gone. Helen was here. Tester left.

Cloudy. Merrill & I went to city. Got new Dormeyer electric mixer. $29.95. Grandpa, Jim & I went for ride to Antwerp.

Children’s Day. Grandpa, boys, & I went to church. Mrs. Hagan, Helen, Carl & boys were over in PM. Uncle Ray & Aunt Maude got home from Canada.

Arlene & Howard wedding. Merrill & I went. Grandpa went to Angie’s with us. We had supper at Angie’s. Stopped at Dad’s & Marg’s. Uncle Ray & Kessel did milking.

Washed clothes. Talked with Mrs. Heatherington, Beulah, & gas company at Theresa. Jim & I went over town and gave out slips. Men started work on barn.

Helen & boys were here awhile. Merrill helped Uncle Ray put up chimney. I went to Grange.

Mother’s birthday. (56 years) Chamber of Commerce supper. Got home at 11:00 PM. Finished ironing.

Aunt Maude, & I took Cheryl to baby show at city. Aunt Maude got driver’s permit. Nice day.

Raining in morning. Made Kessel birthday cake. We went to show in evening. Baked pies, cakes, & doughnuts.

Kessel’s birthday (32) Went out home for dinner. Ken & Eleanor were there also. Stopped at Adams. Took cake for Mom & Dad.

Got card from Arlene & Howard. Helen, Carl Perrin were here. Merrill sprained ankle. Jim & I went to Adams after Kessel. Washed clothes. Uncle Ray & Grandpa were over to help milk.

Uncle Ray helped milk. Kessel did chores. I’ve been sick all day. I took milk. Also went over town. Talked with Helen & Lila.

Louis-Wolcott fight postponed because of race. Merrill’s foot is quit a lot better. I went to Lodge. Last meeting until fall. Men were to show. Terrible thunder storms. Power off.

Awfully muggy. I went with Aunt Maude after Lila’s girls. We went to show to see reel of show from last night. Bill, Vi & Martha were here. Louis-Wolcott postponed again.

John Kiechle birthday. Gave myself Toni wave. Talked with Aunt Maude. Joe Louis & Joe Wolcott fight. Louis won. Said it was his last fight.

Went to show in evening. Baked & cleaned floors.

Gloria graduates from high school. Went out to Uncle Earl’s for family gathering. People came from Canada. About 90 there. Went over to Uncle Earl’s in evening too.

Washed & ironed. Men moved kitchen stove & connected water heater. Fixed shower down cellar. Talked with Helen, Aunt Maude, She was over in evening. Merrill went to Lodge.

Awfully hot. Started haying. Aunt Maude & I went over to church to meeting in evening about painting job.

Uncle Ray was over. Went to city. Bought new hat. Painted stove. Got Jim new shoes. Got boys swim trunks.

Merrill went up after stove. Aunt Maude & I went to city in PM. She drove (first time) Stopped at Lila’s. Helen Carl & boys were here.

Electric light men were here. Talked with Helen & Aunt Maude. Helen & Carl & boys were over in evening. Men wired up electric stove.

Wrote Mom. Did a lot of baking with new stove. Uncle Ray was over & mowed hay. Kessel went home for 4th.

Howed corn & potato areas. Grand weather. Worked in garden. Had picnic supper. Merrill & Vern drawed load of hay.

Vern put up bird house. Washed. Uncle Ray was over & helped hay it. Aunt Maude & Cheryl & Uncle Ray were here in evening. shampooed my hair. Thunder storms and rain.

Merrill & boys went to Adams after Kessel but didn’t find him. Terrible thunder storms. Power was off. Went to W.S.C.S. meeting at Marguerite Beach’s

Painted bathroom & my bedroom. Kessel got back. Went to Grange in evening.

Got 100 pounds of sugar. $8.40. Uncle Ray was here & helped hay it. Jim & I went with Aunt Maude when she took Cheryl home. Was over town in morning.

Washed & baked. Uncle Ray was here working. Helen & Miriam arrive [Fresh Air Kids] at 6:14. Mrs. Petrie, Jim, & I met them at train. Milk tester came.

Milk tester left. Got things ready for picnic.

Leah & Claude went to picnic with us. Took kids to church. Went to Lodge picnic at Crystal Lake after church. 50 were there. Took kids to show in evening.

Washed clothes. Washing machine changed [from gas to electric]. Talked with Helen, Mrs. Hagan & Aunt Maude.

Did ironing. Baked cake, doughnuts & cookies. Got letter from Mom. Alice Carr is in hospital. Ethel Wagner is at Uncle Earle’s.

44 loads of hay in. Finished filling mow over cow barn. Talked with Helen, Beulah, Elsie, Carrie & Aunt Maude.

Commerce Block Dance. The W.S.C.S. sold refreshments. I got home at 1:30.

Drawed hay all day. Washed clothes.

My stove isn’t working right. I called Kamargo’s. [furniture store in Watertown] Went to show in evening. Got letter from Ramos.

Went out home for diner. Ken & Eleanor were there. I’m not feeling so good. Emma called.
