Very windy but warm. Washed & ironed. Merrill took TV out to city for new tube. Wrote Jim, & June & Vern. Merrill went to lodge.

Warm spring day. Started cleaning upstairs in our bedroom. Merrill drove fence posts & cleaned lower lawn. Teresa Hall had breast removed.

Went to hospital to see Alice Carr. Martha, Mom, Marg, & Aunt Keitha there also. Mary called to say Teresa Hall had operation yesterday.

Wrote Uncle Berle. Got first colored slides back of Martha & John’s wedding & Washington, D.C. trip.

Got letter from Ron Short. Beautiful day. 70°. Wrote Jim. Sent Teresa card & note. Worked at bedroom. Road men started working on our road. Canada Bread Company started route by here.

We went to Lowville after 2000 white spruce trees. Got Howard’s also. Got groceries at P&C in Lowville. Finished cleaning our bedroom. Got letter from Jim.

We went to church. Debbie went with us. She was here for dinner. Debbie & I went to Mrs. Heck’s recital at church in PM. Very nice.

Zelda & I have Past Grands at her house. 14 present. Merrill went to lodge. We served chicken salad on lettuce, home made rolls, & cupcakes. Rained.

The birds are back to the bird house for first this year. Got letter from Jim. Started cleaning dining room.

Lodge. Practiced long drill for first. Lorraine Hall here while folks went to funeral (Mrs. Hall’s mother) Wrote Jim. Sent for wall paper.

Home Demonstration at Martha Brown’s. Bertha Adderly taught Space Age Foods II. Good lesson. Meeting at school on building. Plans made for new building program for all schools except Philadelphia elementary.

We went to city. Got front door lights & railings. Stopped at hospital to see Alice.

Tore off paper in dining room. We helped Howard & Evelyn put down new wall to wall carpet in living room. Merrill went to Bacon’s for seed oats. Barn dance opened for season.

Fast time begins. I went to church. We cleaned lawns. Beautiful warm day. Merrill started front door lights.

Wrote Jim. Washed clothes. Painted dining room. Merrill got hair cut. Wall paper came. Advance Meeting canceled until May 11.

They brought railing for front door. Lodge practice. We went to Pizza Corner for pizza after practice. Rainy. Merrill worked at door lights. I papered in dining room. Wrote Mom.

Got card from Vern & June. Mother & Daughter banquet. Roast beef $1.25 & 60¢. Made $50.00, 90 present. Mrs. Hewitt guest speaker. I took Debbie. Merrill got door lights finished.

Got two new tires for car at Sears. $78.00. I went to city in AM. Finished papering dining room. Got 13th milk check for $53.00.

Aunt Cora called to say Aunt Lila is in hospital with pneumonia. Called Wolcott to tell Mother Tryon. Wrote Jim. Finished dining room. Kenny & Brenda have baby girl, Kim Marie.

Beulah, David, Tim, Danny, Pat, & Mother Tryon here for dinner & supper. Merrill, Mother, & Beulah went to hospital to see Aunt Lila. She is better. Party at church for Schnaubers. We didn’t go.

70th anniversary of Antwerp Rebekahs. I didn’t go. Mother Tryon & I went to hospital to see Aunt Lila. I saw Brenda, Marion Schell, & Alice. Got letter from Jim. Started Decalcium Phosphate.

Sent cow to sale. W.S.C.S. here. 15 present. Myrtle helped me. Merrill took Mother Tryon to Felts Mills in evening. Mom called. Aunt Belle very bad. Cliff to have operation Thursday.

Washed clothes. Very warm. I have hoarse throat. We went up to Waters in evening.

Home Demonstration at Ruth’s. Program planning. Merrill sowed oats. Clifford had operation. Alice very bad. Wrote Jim.

I went to Gouverneur for groceries. Merrill & I went to Felts Mills after Mother Tryon. We all went to the hospital to see Betty Haggerty, Alice, Cliff, & Aunt Lila. Joanne has baby girl, Belva Hall boy.

We mowed the yards for the first. Leslie & Grace came. Mother Tryon, Grace, & I went out to hospital in evening. Mary & Marilyn went with us to see Joanne & baby.

Mother’s Day. Cold. Mother Tryon, Leslie, & Grace left about 10:00 AM. I was over to Evelyn’s. We went out to Mom’s in PM. Marg was there.

Operation Advance (Postponed) Meeting. Wrote Vern & June. Alice Carr died at 3:55 AM, age 47.

Wrote Jim. Turned cows out for first day & night. I went to funeral home for Alice. Saw Aunt Lila & Aunt Cora at hospital.

Rebekah’s & practice. Alice’s funeral. Very large funeral. We went to Cliff’s after funeral. Marg went into hospital. Saw Kim Marie Rudes for first time.

Raining. Tired today. Evelyn brought typewriter over. Wrote Vern & June. Betty Haggerty went [home] from hospital in PM.

I went to city. Saw Marg & Clifford at hospital. Betty went home yesterday. Ted Mack’s Amateur program from this area on radio in evening.

Armed Forces Day. Mowed lawns. Got new blade for mower. Merrill started front step. Rained in evening. Four baby robins in window box on porch.

Foggy in morning. No church today. Conference. Wrote Jim. Changed living room around.

Past Grands at Marguerite’s. I didn’t go. Merrill went to lodge. I washed & ironed. Got letter from Jim. Wrote Jim.

Lodge practice. Finished ironing. Merrill planted trees.

Cooler. I had lunch with Evelyn. I went to hospital to see Marg. Clifford still there. Tammy & Basil Hanson have baby boy. Mom, Juanita, Eleanor & kids there also.

Home demonstration here. Covered dish dinner. 8 members, 6 kids. Royal, Betty, & 2 boys here in evening. Played cards.

Merrill & I went to city. Stopped at Aunt Cora’s on way. Aunt Lila coming good. Merry bought pulverizer at Tenny’s, Theresa. $90.00. Merrill got work shoes. $9.50.

Wrote Jim. I went to Home Bureau banquet at Minetto with Esther Taylor. Merrill mowed lawns. Toby Morrow was here in evening.

We went to church. Ate a picnic lunch back in the pines. Had to count them for refund. 209 spruce. Drove down to LeClair’s in PM. Kenny & Brenda & Kim were here while we were gone.

Cloudy. Rained in evening. Uncle Len & Betty were here in PM. Baked cookies. Merrill drawed manure for corn ground.

Program calendaring for Home Demonstration. I went to city. Got new dress, $6.99. Went to Rebekah practice in evening. Rained.

Wrote Jim & sent cemetery brochure. lnitiation at lodge. Alice LeClair & Carleen Cook. Small crowd. 45 there. Had sandwiches, cake, & coffee refreshment.

I went to Gouverneur for groceries. Mom, Eleanor, Mrs. Payne, & Roberta & Holly here for supper & evening. Had been to cemetery.
