I read some of Loren Tryon’s letters written when he was in the war in France 50 years ago. He was 20 years old. He was killed on August 28, 1944. He was such a nice young man. He wanted to be like his oldest brother, Merrill.

Diary Entry for 6/6/2004
Nurse Bonnie here at 7:30 to change bandage on my toe. I went to church out here. Beautiful singing and message. Vi here for paper. Florence brought me piece of rhubarb pie. Very good. I talked with Diane. Lyla called. Also Cheryl. Lots on TV about 50 year anniversary of D-Day. Also President Reagan’s life story. D-Day beings back many memories of Loren Tryon. He died in France August 28th, 1944.
