Dad’s birthday. (60 years) Sent him letter & card. We all went to city. Got new hat. Vernon got electric cord for brooder.

Cleaned our bedroom. Painted molding in den. Quite cold. Talked with several about menu for Mother & Daughter banquet.

Grand day. Cleaned back year. Vernon planted sweet peas. They cleaned yards around building. Merrill & boys got hair cuts. Vernon went to library.

Easter. Boys & I went to Easter breakfast. We all went to church. Church was packed. Raining real hard in evening. Called Mom & Dad. Dad had horse die last night.

Washed & ironed. We went out home in PM. Took Dad box of candy for birthday. Merrill went to Lodge & to Past Grand meeting at Theresa.

Vernon painted ceiling in den & bathroom. Started cleaning both rooms. Cheryl was over all day. Aunt Maude came over here in PM. Vernon & I went to Grange. Vernon joined.

Juvenile Grange. We all went. Made nylon corsages after meeting. Men (Kiechle’s) finished putting on shingles. Painted bathroom.

Merrill helped put siding on Grange Hall. I went to refin [?] lessons at Jean Parker’s in PM. Vernon, Jim, & I went over to Grange to help finish flowers.

Cleaned sun porch. Painted porch floor. Baked pie, cake, & cookies. Men built fence for first. Colored sun porch curtains.

Gave myself a Toni Wave. Windy. Put up curtains in sun porch. Men built fence. Got letter from Mom.

We didn’t go out home. Vernon came down with mumps. We went for ride in PM. Merrill, Jim, & I walked back to woods.

Vernon not feeling too good. I washed & ironed. Merrill started fitting ground for first. Painted bathroom floor.

I feel punk today. Merrill went to Cox’s for 100 baby chicks. $17.00. Very warm today. Wrote Mom.

Vernon & I both feeling better. I didn’t go to Lodge as I may have mumps too. Entertained the past grands. I washed kitchen ceiling. Got letter from Uncle Berle

Grand day. Finished cleaning kitchen. Vernon planted flower seeds. Carl Killenbeck started painting lodge ceiling white. Wrote Uncle Berle. House cleaning done except for living room floor.

Vern was awarded 50 chicks in 4-H. Men sowed 9 3/4 acres of grain. First sowed. I went over town in AM. Went over & helped Aunt Maude in PM. She has been in bed since Sunday with strep throat & queasy.

Nice day. W.S.C.S. food sale. Grange cafeteria supper. Grange made over $60.00. Uncle Berle came at 3:30 for weekend. Vern is sick again.

Vernon still quite sick. Temperature 103°. Uncle Berle went home about 5:00 PM. Mother, Dad, Melba, & Kessel here for supper. Nice day.

Vern feeling better. I took Vi to city to get new glasses. Got Jim baseball mitt & bat.

Washed & ironed. Awful tired today. Took calf to sale.

I helped Merrill sow some oats. Started helping Merrill with chores.

Merrill & I sowed grain about all day. Quite cold. I went over to Carrie Dunn’s to plan Mother & Daughter banquet.

Nice but kind of cold. Dyed slip covers & bed spread. School band went to Potsdam today but Vern wasn’t able to go.

Baked cakes, & pie. Quite cold today. Aunt Maude was over in morning. I have terrible cold. Feel punk.

Nice today. Jane’s 3rd birthday. I don’t feel very good. Horrid cold.

Washed & ironed. Sowed oats in PM.

Sowed grain. Very windy in PM. 30 acres of grain in.

Vi & I went to city for supplies for supper. Got Vernon 50 chicks he won in 4-H. Helped get turkeys ready. Had juvenile Grange in evening.

Mother & Daughter banquet. 106 tickets sold. I had charge of supper. Made $55.21 on banquet. Jim came down with mumps.

I was in bed all day with upset stomach. Vern went to Spring concert. Played in band. Beulah & Glenn’s house burned.

Myrtle & I took dishes back to lodge. Jim got up & dressed today. His face is quite swollen. Merrill got grease pump. $17.25.

Mother’s Day. Raining. First time in 18 days. Merrill & I went to church. We also went for ride in PM. Mr. Heatherington’s last sermon here.

Raining hard all day. Washed. Dried clothes over register. Got package from Spiegels. Jim’s gray pants, wine corduroy jacket $7.75 & white shirt $1.69. Merrill went to Lodge.

Still raining hard.

Went to Lodge in evening. Had plastic & lingerie party. Mrs. Brown [was there]. Painted living room floors.

Got letter from Mother Tryon saying Beulah’s house had burned again. Lost everything.

Settled living rooms. Did living room rugs. We went to city. Got new lamp shade, table clothes, etc.

Baked cakes, Worked on Rebekah cafeteria supper. Made about $45.00.

We all went out home for dinner. Uncle Earle’s & Marg were there too. Uncle Ed & Aunt Edna, Aunt Cora & her new husband Charlie Cross were there in evening.

Washed & ironed. Beulah, Geneva, & I went to Fresh Air Fund meeting at city. Miss Bigelow spoke. Merrill went to Lodge. Jim went back to school.

Home Bureau here. 12 present. Had covered dish supper. Miss Conover gave lesson on window treatments. Raining. Esther H. & Colleen were here.

Raining. I went over to Vi’s to work on Home Bureau exhibit for tomorrow. Got card from Carrie [..amp] at Rebekah Assembly.

Achievement day at Masonic Temple. Vi & I went. Between 500 & 700 people present. Merrill went to city too. I went to Grange in evening. Carl Thibault had operation.

Fireman’s parade. We all went to parade. Blood bank here. I helped at blood bank in evening. Was over to Helen’s in AM. Jane got burned by cup of hot coffee.

Merrill helped put siding on the Grange Hall again today. We all went to reception for old & new minister. Covered dish supper.

We all went to church. Went up to Don’s in PM. Practiced Juvenile Grange in evening. Rainy.

Raining. Got stuff together for Juvenile County meeting at Pamelia. We all went. 28 from Philadelphia. Very nice.

Washed. Took home girls Home Bureau dresses.

Vern had headache & didn’t go to school. Went out to city. Vern got free seeds. Got plastic curtains. Put them up. I went to Lodge in evening.

I helped paint at Lodge. Merrill helped in PM. Took out posts.
