Merrill brought me to hospital at 9:00 AM. Didn’t have a bed. Sent letter to Florence, Jimmy.

Had operation, appendicitis at 9:30. Merrill was here. Dr. told me I have gall stones.

Merrill & Mom were up. Ethel R. & Margaret were in. Merrill brought me ring & candy.

Feeling better. Rebecca’s sent me flowers. Merrill & Alice were here. Got cards & letters., W.S.C.S. sent flowers. Uncle Bearle & Aunt Mildred were here.

Merrill was here in PM. Got several cards. They moved me in other ward.

Merrill, Ruth P, Florence & Earle were here. Raining hard all day.

Mom, Dad, Grandpa, Don & Juanita, Merrill were here. Saw kids out the window.

Merrill was up in PM. Alice & Cliff were here in evening. Got cards. Sat on edge of bed today.

Merrill was here in PM. Got cards. Brought candy, fruit & sandwiches. Got up today. Mr. Suits was here.

Had some stitches out. Can’t go home until tomorrow. Got cards. Merrill was up in evening. Dr. told me I have tumors.

Came home today. A car run into ours. Broke off bumper. Juanita & Donna came home with us. Merrill went out home after them. Helen & kids were here. Also Uncle Ray.

Cloudy day. Mrs. Keichle & Mrs. Hagan called. Sent card to Mom. Helen called. Merrill got new milking machine part. Got bumper fixed. Aunt Maude was here.

Sent thank you notes. Sent binder to hospital. Merrill & Vernon went over town. Mrs. Hagan, Helen & boys were here in evening.

Mom & Don were here for dinner & supper. Colder.

Cloudy. Vernon didn’t have to go to school. Barn burned over by Mercers. 25 herd cattle burned. Aunt Maude & Helen called.

We washed clothes. Cloudy day. Got 3 cards. Made appointment to have my hair done Friday.

Rainy. We did ironing. Mrs. Keichle called. Talked with Aunt Maude.

We went to city. Merrill got new brown suit. I saw Dr. Roberts. Went over to Aunt Maudes to card party in evening.

Got my hair done. Went over town & to Aunt Maudes in evening. Dan & Helen called.

Ken & Eleanor wedding. Quite a nice day & grand wedding. We got home about 6:00 PM. Aunt Maude called. Also Helen. Got letter from Gloria.

Cold & wet & windy. No company. We stayed home all day. Merrill finished putting on storm windows.

Grand day. Did big wash. Merrill went to Lodge. Mrs. Hagan called. Sent cards to Florence, Mom, Marg.

Ironed clothes. Got card from Eleanor & Ken. Birthday card from Angie. Talked with Lois, Helen & Mrs. Keichle. Grand day. Louis R came over and shot Nellie. (the gray horse) Merrill joined Farm Bureau.

Another nice day. Finished ironing.

Got card and letter from Mom. I went to Lodge to practice. Merrill went over to Evans Mills to Lodge.

Got candy from Mom. Cards & letters from Aunt Mildred & Marg. Talked with Helen. Vernon went to church with Ben to party for Sunday school.

Went over town after groceries. Juanita, Donna, Jim & I went to Antwerp. Jack H. [Hagan] was over to play with Vernon. Vern & Jim popped corn in evening.

Don came early this morning. He, Juanita & Donna went to woods. We drove out home in afternoon.

Raining. Helen called. Merrill went to Lodge. Kids & I went to show. Mrs. Hagan called. Wrote to Aunt Mildred.

Still raining. Made nightgown. Talked with Mrs. Keichle. Got letter from Arlene.

Went to city in PM. & had pictures taken. Went to Lodge in evening. Vernon & Ben went to show.

We went out home for dinner. Don, Juanita & Donna came tonight. Snowing.

Cold & clear. Juanita, Donna, Jim & I went over town in forenoon. Talked with Aunt Maude. Merrill & Don cut wood today.

Uncle Ray buzzed wood here. Was here for dinner. Carl, Elmer, Marie, Ronnie & Nancy were here. Don, Juanita & Donna left.

Went to Adams to see boys before they left for California. Talked with Helen.

Awfully cold last night. Everything froze up this morning. Wrote Evelyn & Arlene. Sent order to Spiegel. Vernon was sick and couldn’t go to school. Pearl B [Buker] & Mrs. Keichle called.

Amelia Zufelt died very suddenly. Washed clothes. Went to W.S.C.S. at Marguerite B. Aunt Maude brought me home. Got proofs. Talked with Helen and Mrs. Keichle.

Vernon is feeling better. Ben brought over Vernon’s school work. Talked with Helen & Mrs. Keichle.

Went to city shopping today. Went over to practice at Lodge. Called Aunt Maude & Edith. Amelia Zufelt funeral.

Sent card to Mom. Aunt Maude called & said Mrs. Putnam & Frank Overton were dead.

Mrs. Putnam funeral. A grand day. Washed kitchen curtains. Went over to Uncle Ray’s after Merrill. Jack Hagan was here to play. Went to show in evening.

Went to church. went over to Aunt Maude’s to see Lila & Cheryl. Wrote to Aunt Mildred.

Washed clothes. Got my ironing done also. Rainy. Archie Holmes was here about fertilizer.

Got permanent $6.00 at Mrs. Crescott. Went to Lodge to practice.

Our anniversary. Merrill gave me a grand little Philco radio. Went to Lodge in evening. Got home at 1:30 AM. Got first Christmas card from Angie.

Raining. Made dress. Went over town in PM after shower presents. Awfully windy in evening.

Electricity off this morning. Uncle Ray & Carl helped milk. Talked with Helen, Mrs. Keichle, & Mrs. Hagan. Mr. & Mrs. Keichle & Ben were over in evening.

Eleanor’s shower. Lila & Cheryl went with us. Stormed so that the folks out that way couldn’t come. 14 there. Mother Tryon is ill with gall stones.

Went out home & got Xmas tree. Have quite a lot of snow out there. We haven’t any. Merrill gave Don tire. Stopped at Mother Tryon’s.

Washed & ironed. Dad Tryon & Aunt Edna called. Mother Tryon went to hospital about noon. Talked with Helen & Aunt Maude.
