Nice today. Widn on cool side. We went to church. Not many out. They asked us to ride on the church float for Quaker Days. A lazy day. No company. Merrill to bed at 9 PM. Awake at 1. Came back to bed until 3 AM. Slept in chair until 6. Called Dr. Maller.

Raining. Cleared in PM. Call Dr. Maller. Jim, Sue, and Ashley here in PM. Ashley had bad toothache.I had two calls from eye center. To have field tests at 9:30. Watertown-Jefferson County Fair starts tomorrow. 180th year. Oldest Fair. Jim and Explorers not working the parking for first time in years. Harborfest opens at Oswego. Ends weekend. I got more materials, tape, and catalogs from NYS Talking Books, Albany. Some antique cars went by here this PM. Our road is a detour to 26. I called Susie, Vi and Martha still in Texas. Be home Thursday. Julie named baby Cloe Marcel (?) 6 pounds, 8 ounces.

Sunny a great day. 79°. Merrill went to day care. I washed some clothes. Also made a gruit cocktail cake. The Burns family of Watertown have purchased the Paddock Arcade for $175,000. It is the oldest mall in the United States.

Sunny, warm. 82°. I called Ginny Delles. Cory Farrell died on his mother, Jill’s birthday. Jill, 39 died of cancer about 6 years ago. (?) Jim came out in evening at supper time and mowed the lawns. He has a new trailer to haul his mower. The Neilson TV Survey ends tonight. I’ve kept it for a week. They sent me $2.00. I enjoyed doing it. Harry Purcell, 77 died today.

Another nice day but rain on the way. Hot this PM 88° high. Merrill went to day care. He had a bad night from 1:30 – 3:30. Very mixed up and trying to get outside to go home. He don’t remember any of it this morning. He says he slept good al night. He sometimes thinks he is two people lately. He also thought I was two people off and on for some time. I washed Merrill’s clothes. I wished Don a Happy Birthday tonight when the bus brought Merrill home. I didn’t think he knew me.

Sunny. Cool in morning. Up to 81°. Sina was here. She’ll be back in 2 weeks. I called Dr. Mike’s office about Merrill’s reports. They were to call me back but didn’t call. Merrill watered garden. Sent Don birthday card and letter. Sent for Material on Alzheimer’s.

Sunny and very hot most of day. We went for groceries in morning. I washed clothes. Mostly mine and towels. Don’s 74th birthday. Jolie called. She is having Bar-B-Que tomorrow. Jim coming after us. I talked with Joe when I took down flag. He has their house about finished. More on front to do. Merrill skinned his arms cutting brush. He fell. He’s very mixed up today. He has watered the garden four times.

Cloudy and sunny by turns all day. No rain. We went to church About 28 out. We went to Jolie and Zacks for bar-B-Q. A nice time together. Jim, Sue, and Ashley came after us and brought us home. Jill and Jim didn’t come as they had been up at the river with Patty. Friends of Jolie’s and their little boy Cameron there also.

Cloudy rainy windy. Vi called. Martha is in hospital in Watertown with blood clot in her leg for 4 or 5 days. I called Sam Transportation and asked if I could rid out with Merrill in van in morning. They said I could free of charge. I called Lyla. Sue called me back. She will pick me up at city tomorrow. I called Jim in evening. He is starting his vacation tomorrow.

Sunny day. Cool. Eye appointment with Dr. Richmond 10:45 AM. Field test at 9:30 AM. First time since 1992. First time I went to eye center to Dr. Kayanie. Eye pressure 20 each eye. I rode to city on Merrill’s day care bus. Jim took me to eye center. Sue Boscheck came after me. We ate lunch at Denny’s. Jolie called in evening. Talked with Shawn Michael. Jim called in evening from home. He had muffler put on our car at Cole Muffler. It was a repeat. Sue and Jim going to Chris’s in Albany Saturday and Sunday.

A great day. I made appointment for Merrill for Monday at 1 with Dr. Mike. I talked with Vi.

Another great summer day. Merrill went to day care. I wshed clothes, mostly Merrill’s. I called for first order for cassette books this AM. It is free of charge to call. Sue called to ask if we wanted to go over and practice for parade. We are too tired and hot. Merrill came home with a headache.

Windy. Mostly sunny. We went for groceries in AM. Merrill couldn’t get hair cut until next Thursday. I called Donna. She may get home in time to cut Merrill’s hair tomorrow after 5 PM. Merrill has headache. He had it yesterday also. We saw Terry Hall at store. His girl friend is pregnant. December 4. They live in Philadelphia over post office. Toby’s daughter DeeDee lives with them.

Windy, cloudy, sunny. We took garage to dump truck. I called Vi. She was out for a walk and called me back. She and Martha are coming to church tomorrow. I called Sue. They are coming for us. Jolie called. Jim asked her to call us. Jim, Sue, Ashley and Shawn Michael have been on trip to New Hampshire, Albany, etc. They are at Chris’ in Albany tonight. They’ll be home tomorrow. I watched the fireworks over town from our breakfast room window. They were very pretty.

Cloudy day but sunny by spells. 75° We went to Ecumenical church service at Legion Pavilion. Boschocks came for us and brought us home. A lovely service. Our church for Quaker Days had a float in the parade. Folks in it, Rev. E White, Sue and Bob Boschock, Nancy and Wayne Huntress, Marie and Hake Ambrose, Sharie, Jennie and Jimmy Purcell, Karen Lynch, Ellen Childs, Glen Cook, Marge Heck, Merrill and I. Marty Ellis drove tractor. Alice Flaherty, Joanne Rappole, Rev Elaine and Sue played guitars and Bob tambourine and we all sang. We had chicken bar-B-Q at legion. Very good. I got circle ring at Betty Rudes booth. A part of George Water’s Jewelry.

Sunny and partly cloudy. 78° high. Merrill-Dr. Mike at 1 PM. He had blood work done. 2 vials. We went to bank to cash check. I called Dr. Maller’s office at Syracuse in PM. They were to call back but didn’t call. Jim, Sue, and Ashley here in PM. Here at suppertime but they had just eaten. I called Vern’s in evening. He was having a church meeting at their house. June and I had a nice visit. Dan and Robin’s and Steve’s had been to Adirondacks. Dan’s went home today. Vern and June go to Jan and Jims Friday. I got Triad paper on Alzheimer’s. Very helpful.

Cloudy. Cool wind. Merrill went to day care. I washed clothes. Bedding. Vern called. He has been on phone to Syracuse and Dr. Mike at Philadelphia. They are faxing Mike. Merrill’s records mix up on medication. They said they put him on Aricept instead of Ambian. They didn’t I’m sure. I called Vern. Got machine. Lyla was here. Good to see her. I called her to pick up Aircept pills from Dr. Mike after she got home. I made cake. I called Agway for 45 minute free long distance. Merrill started on Aircept.

Sunny. Down to 33° over night. Wind cool all day. 73° high. Nurse called from Syracuse. She called in sleeping pills prescription to Pharmhouse for Trazodone. I sent to Syracuse for part of Merrill’s electric shaver. $16.04. Vern, June here for day. A real nice day together. They brought rolls, cold meat, and brownies and raised donuts. Jolie and Shawn Michael stopped by. Had been over to 801 at Philadelphia. They started spreading black top on Route 29 by Indian River School.

Sunny. Merrill went to day care. He slept in the bed all night. No chair. Church ice cream social 5 PM. We didn’t go to it. Late when Merrill got home and he was very tired. I called Jim in morning at work. He will get Merrill’s sleeping pills. Tina called. Will be here at 10 in the morning. I called and ordered a lighthouse catalog from NY Vision products. DR. Hinman’s nurse called and said Dr. want Merrill to take only one Trazodone a day. His blood test good. Cholesterol 158, blood 111. Juanita at day care this morning. She told Merrill Ken had sores on his face.

Sunny. Hot 81° very dry. Tina 10 AM. She’ll be back in 2 weeks with Barb Tilft. Tina is ordering dinners for Merrill and I. Merrill’s is paid for. Merrill got hair cut. Philadelphia has a new woman barber. We got groceries. Lots of traffic by here as every day. The other road will soon be finished. Can’t get done too soon. Vern’s and Steve’s leave on vacation to Hershey PA, Maryland and want to see Nancy.

Another hot day. I called Ken and Esther in morning. They are busy with flea market. It’s open everyday this summer. Holly working at Pulaski Medical Center. Ken had a skin cancer on his forehead. I washed clothes. The calf of my leg hurting again today. Merrill cleaned floors and watered garden.

Very hot humid. 80° We didn’t go to church. Merrill didn’t sleep at all last night so I didn’t get much either. Jim called in evening. He and Explorers worked Pirates weekend at Alex Bay.

Cloudy. Some rain cooler. They are spreading more blacktop by school on Route 29. Very smelly here. I washed some clothes. Jolie called in evening. She’s missing Zack who went into the field for two weeks at 4:30 this morning. Zack goes into training at Fort Drum for 2 weeks. He can’t even call home.

Sunny and nice. Merrill went to day care. Vi Mowers and I went to Alex Bay to see Leah Simonds. We took her a pretty mum plant. Lavender and yellow. She didn’t know us but she seemed happy. Talked of her father a lot. We ate lunch at Hudson’s. We stopped at Margaret Kiechles on way home. Jim and Jill here while we were gone. Left a note. Sorry to miss them. I got first book cassette. “Until Forever”.

Raining badly need thunder storm during night. Rained off and on most of day. Very cloudy. I called Jill and Jim. Also Jolie. They are coming for supper tomorrow night. Jim here in PM. Stopped in on way back from taking a 15 year old boy to drug center. We started getting “Meal’s on Wheels” dinners today at noon. Five days a week. Very good. $2.00. Merrill’s is paid for through home care. Merrill took first Trazodone at bed time.

Synny most of day. Merrill went to day care. I got stuff ready for supper. Jim and Jolie called. The family ten of us, here for supper today. Farewell to Jim. He leaves for Korea tomorrow. Jim, Jill, Jolie, Zack, Shawn Michael, Jim, Sue, Ashley, Merrill and I here. Zack hurt his knee in training so he was able to be with us. It’s so good to get together. Woman called about lunches. She will be here tomorrow at 11. I sent Pauline card and letter. I called Pharmhouse druggist about Merrill’s medicines. She said they are compatible. Ariept, Trental, Trazodone. Vern and June got home from trip. I finished first talking book “Until Foreve” very good.

A nice day. I washed clothes. Donna Pratt from the office of the aging here about my getting meals on wheels. I’m tired today. Merrill going all day, cutting brush etc. Paulie Roggies birthday. Jim Mefford leaves for Korea for a year at 5:15 PM from Syracuse airport. I mailed back first talking book, “Until Forever”. Tina called. She’ll be here next Firday. Bill Preston 81 died last night. I got 2nd cassette book, Esther Read’s, “Awakening”. Merrill got shaver foil in mail.

Very windy and humid 84°. Rained in evening. We took trash to dump. I washed clothes. I got two more cassette books. Elvis Presley died 20 years ago today. Jim called in evening. He was at Reces at Lafargeville.

Cloudy. Cooler. We didn’t go to church. We had a rough night. Merrill upset all day. Vernon called in PM. They had a good trip and a nice time. Girls enjoyed it. Merrill went to bed at 8 PM awoke at 11 and dressed. I listened to book tape most of day.

Nice today. 75° Cold at night. Jim came out and mowed the lawns. They look so nice freshly mowed. Jim brought my eye drops. Jim here for breakfast. Jim M called from Missouri on way to Korea but they haven’t heard more from him yet. I called Countryman’s about copper wire. He gave me $5.00 for it. I got 5 cassette books. I mailed back 3rd one. I called Vi in PM. Also Lyla, Mrs. Ashley 99 died yesterday. Merrill cleaned floors in evening. I wrote eye doctor for eye drop prescription. Also sent check for fire insurance $220.40

Sunny. Up to 75° Down to 40’s at night. Merrill went to day care. I washed Merrill’s clothes also table cloth. I called Elmer Hoover about sewer gas. He said to call Robbins.

Another sunny nice day. Jim called in PM. Jill had a call from Jim. Joel called home. He and his girl friend have an appointment in DeMoines, Iowa. I sent back tow cassette books. Lyla was here in PM.

Raining. Colder. Cloudy in PM. Merrill went to day care. He is quite mixed up this morning. He goes thru so many changes. Every day is different. Merrill didn’t get home until 6:15 PM. They took Don home first so Merrill had to go to Lorraine. Don’s legs go to sleep and they can’t get him off the bus. Merrill can’t ride 80 miles a day either. Something will have to be done.

Stopped at church to give Nancy $10.00 donation for Tom. Gave her our 2 Sunday offerings to give to Sue. Benefit dinner at church for Tom Ronas. We gave $10 donation. Tom has cancer. Steve and Kathy’s 10th anniversary.

Raining in AM. Some sun windy. Jolie called. She put us down on Shawn Michael’s school record to call if they can’t reach her. She enrolled him in Antwerp school kindergarten Thursday. Jill has a new job at Fisher Gage Co starting next Thursday. Works 12 midnight until 7 AM at $6.00 an hour. Jim T on vacation again. He planned to take Explorers camping. Jill talked with Jim in Korea today. We have a leak in pipes under the sink. Kitchen carpet very wet. Merrill cleaned carpets after we got lint etc out of vacuum hose.

Sunny but cool wind. We went to church. 58 out. Mostly Kiechles has two Kiechle little girls, Cassandra Tyler baptized. Very nice. They cleared over $900.00 on Rona’s beef supper. Plus what donations were given. They sold over 200 dinners. I got a church cookbook today to replace the one sent home to June and Vernon.

Cloudy, sunny in PM. I washed clothes. Merrill cut brush as usual. They are working on road by school today. JCC Started today with the biggest enrollment ever. Just over 1800 students.

Another great day. 75° Merrill went to day care. He didn’t sleep much. He got home at 6:40 PM, tired. I washed bedding. Also throw rugs. I talked with Jolie a few minutes. Jim called in evening. He, Sue and Ashley at cabin.

Jim, Merrill and Ashley went to Philadelphia feed mill and Robbins store in Antwerp looking for a whet stone. Lyla called in PM. Also Jolie. Jim had a call from Joel. He has a new job in Grand Rapids, Iowa. His girl friend works there. They have an apartment there.

Great day. Very warm. Dr. LaPoint 11 AM. Everything okay. I weighed the same as last time. 147. BP 140/72. Lyla took me to city. Also to drug store. Jill has job at Fisher Cast Co. She started work at 11 PM – 7 AM shift. (Fishercast – castings) Lyla and I ate at Crystal fish dining. Merrill came home with us. He didn’t feel well this morning. Gary, Ashley’s 44th birthday. Jolie and Shawn Michael here this morning. She was enrolling Shawn Michael in Antwerp Kindergarten.

Cloudy day. Gloria called about 8 AM. She and Roger are coming later. They took us up to Quaker Snack Bar for lunch. Bonnie and Gary are selling Snack Bar after 27 years. Brenda Cook interested in it. Gloria and Roger’s visit good for Merrill. I made appointment for Merrill with Mike for Tuesday 2nd at 10:15. Route 29 opened this morning. It has been closed since the day after school closed in June. Roger came that way home from snack bar. Very nice. Great not to have all that traffic by here now. Quiet. I talked with Vi.

Cloudy in AM. Sunny and hot in PM. I washed clothes. Merrill cut weeks and cleaned floors. We went for groceries in PM. Got school taxes today. $147.40 this year. Up a couple of dollars.

Cloudy. Some showers in PM 74°. We went to church. Last Sunday of early church. Princess Diana 36. Her new boy friend, Dodi Fayed, 41 and their driver all killed in car accident in Paris about midnight. Very sad. Jim called in evening. He and Sue on vacation until Wednesday. They’ve been working at cabin.

Labor Day. Cloudy in monrning. Sunny and very warm in PM. No mail. I washed Merrill’s clothes. Telethon went over last year. Over 50 million this year. Watertown $184,207.00 this year for telethon. I called transportation to tell them Merrill wouldn’t be going to day care tomorrow.

Jim’s 54th birthday. Dr. Hinman. Merrill 10:15 AM. He gave Merrill Aricept for 4 more weeks. Merrill didn’t go to day care. I talked with Lyla. She and Kathy here on way to city. Jim and Sue here at 4 PM on bike. They had been to Massena Seaway. Gave Jim birthday card and $50.00. Clark and Vivian got home from camp.

Cold, only up to 59° School started today. Shawn Michael started kindergarten at Antwerp. Jolie called in tears. Vivian called. Good to have them home. Robbin’s (Toy) here to put new drain pipe on kitchen sink. Merrill cut brush. I sent letter to Dr. Maller about Trazodone for Merrill.

Cold. Frost overnight sunny 57° high. Merrill went to day care. Fred Norford ex-cop bus driver. Don on bus out to here. Jolie called. She got a job at Renfrew Co in Industrial Park. She starts work Monday 7 AM to 3:30. Renfrew Tape Limited. I called Juanita in evening.

Another cold night. Sunny 75° Toni. She will see Merrill at day care next time. We went for groceries in PM. Saw Marilyn Payne. She said Evelyn Hall broke her wrist. She fell in the barn. Mother Theresa 87, died today in Calcutta India. Queen Elizabeth spoke to the English people about Diana’s death.

Cloudy, some rain. I washed clothes. Princess Diana’s funeral 11 AM English time, 5 AM here. We got up at 4 AM to watch Diana’s funeral. I’m so glad I did. A once in a lifetime event. Very sad. Sue taped it all. Jim called in PM. Tony Hull brought cover for furnace thermostat. Jim will put it on.

Cloudy warm. Sunday school starts next Sunday. Church back at 11:15. We went to church. Communion 0nly 32 out. Lyla called. Winifred Haggerty in Lowville Hospital. He has had 2 heart attacks. Vivian T called to ask if we would like clark to get us pit beef dinners like usual. I said not this year. Jim may be out today. Doris H called in evening. Vern called in PM. We talked for an hour.
