We went to church, 43 there. Cobby Slate had service. Very good. Rev Collin at camp with youth. Merrill mowed lawns in PM. Thereunder storms a couple times in PM. Bad at city with wind and hail.

Rev. Collin and Kathy Kerr Carpenter’s 2nd anniversary. Merrill worked at Horton’s all day. Cold. Covered tomato plants in evening.

Frost over night. Warmer today. We covered plants so nothing froze. Merrill worked at Horton’s all day. Got nice letter from June and Vern. They bought Don’s car.

Clinic: Merrill 102/78 blood count is 16. Mine was 154/90 and blood count 12.5. Merrill went to Horton’s when we got home. I talked with Cheryl. Aunt Maude sleeps a lot. Mail stage coach with team of Clydesdale horses at Philadelphia.

UMW at parsonage, 11 out. I got my hair cut, $8.00 now. I got groceries. I drove the car for first in ages. Merrill worked at Mills all day.

We took Buick to Sunoco station for new brake lining, $32.25. Merrill worked at Horton’s in PM. Frieda here in PM. Got letter from Steve. He and Katherine have an apartment.

New neighbor Cha was over. I washed clothes. Cloudy day. Merrill went over to Cheryl’s to check her windows.

We went to church, 67 there. Children’s day. Rev Collin’s parents from California in church. Merrill helped Cha put up mail box.

Merrill worked at Horton’s all day at Evans Mills. Meeting in evening on building houses back of our place. We went. A lot of planning work has already been done by a lot of people.

Merrill worked at Horton’s. They finished planting corn. A nice day, warm. I have cold this morning. Head cold.

Rebekah’s out to eat to Tappewingo (?), 10 of us went. Esther, and her sister came from Sackets. Mary Kavanaugh here. Merrill mowed lawns.

Ice cream Festival planning meeting at Margaret’s, 1 PM. Rained hard all day and evening. We went for groceries. Vern called in evening. They are coming Sunday.

Rev. Collin and Rev. Kathy Kerr Carpenter are ordained as Deacons at Colgate University Chapel, Hamilton NY.

I called Patty. I washed clothes. We went over to back yard bar-B-Q at Cha’s , Korean meal. Collin’s family and army family there also. A lovely evening together.

Father’s Day. We went to church, 57 there. Charles Blankenship and son John there. First he has been back in 12 years. Vern, June and Dan here. Took us out to Benny’s Steak House for dinner. Very nice.

Hot, cloudy and rainy. We went to Blue Cross office with copy of checks. First Pirates game this season canceled because of storm until Wednesday. Very stormy in evening. Strong winds, with lots of damage. The Cha’s here awhile.

Nice day but much cooler. Merrill helped at Horton’s in PM on cornbine. I called Gladys Adams.

Merrill worked at Horton’s in PM on machinery. Had first radishes from garden.

Vera and Leah’s insurance man here for two hours. Linda Belile has new station wagon. Rained in evening. Wrote Vern’s.

I took out medical policy with First United American, $693. We went to Mills bank. Saw Lyle. Got groceries.

A just great summer day. Merrill mowed the lawns. He helped Gary on garage siding in PM and evening. I washed clothes. Jim, Joel, and Jill here on way home from Portaferry. Adam Matteson here for pledge for MS.

Graduates honored at church, 48 there. I took sandwiches. Only 1 graduate there, Ellen Child’s daughter. Jim’s here in PM and for supper.

PPR meeting at parsonage to plan party for Rev. Collin. 7 out.

Sent June card, letter and check. Also Cameron’s for their 50th anniversary. Dwayne Petrie here to use phone. Got graduation invite from Susan Ridsdale.

Jim goes to Portaferry for MAZE program. Colder and windy but sunny. I called Gladys Adams. Rebekah’s, last meeting until fall, 5 there. Ginny Delles retired today from Woolworth’s. They gave her a big party.

June’s 48th birthday. We went for groceries in AM. Sent graduation card and $10 check to Susan Ridsdale. Merrill had Buick inspected at 1 PM. We have driven it 6363 miles in two years. Cobby sent for robe for minister, $224. Got graduation invitation from Lynette Tryon. June R here in evening.

Colder and raining off and on. Cloudy all day.

Rev. and Mrs. Cameron’s 50th anniversary. Merrill helped Gary on garage. I washed clothes. Mary Kavanaugh called for Merrill to mow her lawns Monday.

We went to church, 42 there. Sunny but cool wind. Thunder storms. Rain and hail about 4 PM.

Merrill mowed Kavanaugh’s lawn. I sent church notice to Town and County. Sent Corrine CEC contract.

Merrill mowed our lawns. Chain broke in mower. He went to Philadelphia and to Mills.

Darcy’s 16th birthday. Got invited to Bonnie Haggerty and Walter Cooper’s wedding August 16. Merrill worked at church.

Cold. Rained during night. We went for groceries. We watched 100th anniversary of Statue of Liberty celebration all evening. Just great.

We watched TV all AM. Sure great. Frieda here. Rained in evening. A lazy 4th of July here.

Warmer. Merrill worked in garden some. Rained hard in evening. Got fire insurance policy, $160.80, up $5.00.

9 AM church service, 47 out. We went to Kiechle’s, Perin’s, and Ben’s in AM. Went to Slates in evening. A just beautiful day. I called Gladys Adams. We had picnic supper in back yard.

A great day. Hot. In the 80’s. I cleaned bathroom rug. Merrill went over town. Cheryl Horton here with check for Merrill.

Elmer Hoover dug up pipe at CEC. Merrill worked at that all PM. I washed dark clothes. Cleaned Merrill’s lounge chair. Great day. Hot, but not so humid.

Merrill finished water pipe repair at CEC. Sent Jolie note, card, and check. I washed dresses and white clothes.

Jolie’s 15th birthday. Merrill mowed Kavanaugh’s lawn. Cold today. Darcy got a new mini bike. Down to 49° during night.

Merrill mowed our lawns. We went for groceries. Merrill got hair cut. Quaker Days at Philadelphia start tonight and go through Sunday. Sent Bob Griffin card in hospital, pneumonia.

Quaker Day. Cloudy and rain. Cold. Lots of things canceled. Belile’s getting ready for trip to Nova Scotia tomorrow for two weeks.

Church at Mills, 10 AM Ordination reception for Rev’s Collin and Kathy after service. Covered dish. All very nice. About 90 there. We went to parade of the bands afterwards. Jolie marched with Sackets Harbor. We went over to Aunt Maude’s in the evening.

Cloudy and rainy. Vern called at noon. They are coming tomorrow. He has 4:30 eye appointment with Dr. Scanlon.

Administrative Council at 7:30. I have devotions. Merrill went. I didn’t go. School vote passed. 9 million dollar budget. We voted on school budget. Went to store and paid water bill, $50. Vern, June, Don, and Bea here for supper. Bea not too good. Vern still has his eye infection. Saw Dr. Scanlon.

We went to city. Went up to park and ate lunch from Burger king. Hot today. Got white paint at Sears. Leslie called in evening. His daughters are coming to see him on the 27th. He hasn’t seen them since they were small.

I washed clothes. Cloudy about all day. Cha over to see garden. Got truck load of logs, $175.00. Tim Dank, Carthage, brought them.

Very hot, 85°. We went for groceries in AM. I’m very lame. They opened the overhead to traffic today for first time.

Terrible hot and muggy today. Merrill mowed Kavanaugh’s lawns. Got car insurance notice, up $111 this year.
