I worked on Administrative Council report. Patty here for lunch. Cloudy and some snow. Slippery in evening. Merrill went to bank.

Made over $550 on UMW CHristmas Bazaar. I gave fudge and made sandwiches. We went over for soup and sandwich. Nice. Washed clothes. We put up the Christmas decorations. A beautiful day.

We went to Sunday School and church, 42. Very stormy when we came out of church. I started letter to Uncle Berl.

Much warmer. We went to city for some Christmas shopping. I got olive skirt and red and white top.

Sent first Christmas card and letter to Uncle Berl. Merrill and Bill fixed garage door at parsonage. Merrill helped Carl Horton do light fixture at his mother’s place. June Ridsdale called. She has Philadelphia phone again.

Charge Conference, Evans Mills postponed to Sunday, December 18th. Very stormy all day and evening. Many schools closed but not Indian River.

Got card and letter from Uncle Berl. He moved to LaHabra, California today. We went to city. Got rug for bathroom. Fnished Christmas shopping. Merrill got hair cut at Allen’s for first time.

Roy’s birthday. Merrill went to dump. Went to cut our tree, $5.00. We put it up and decorated it. Merrill went over town.

Our 48th anniversary. We went to church 58, and sunday school, 45. Nice day but cold. Had lunch at church and decorated tree and church. I took sandwiches.

Sent cards Got note from Vern’s. Florence Hogaboom real sick with cancer. I called Carl Scee. Vern’s got new car smashed, $800 damage. Made Christmas cookies. Rev. Bea Clark plans to be with Rev. Catherine Salisbury after Christmas.

We packed 44 boxes for shut-ins. Four of them doubles. June and Susan here. Gave June locket. Wrote Ken’s. Merrill went to Trustee meeting at Mills-insullation issues. Vi’s birthday, 69.

Cold sunny day. Merrill shoveled driveway. Sent last of Christmas cards and notes. Made fudge. We made vegetable soup. Froze some. Darcy and Joey brought us their picture. Marty here in evening. Gave them candy to hang on tree.

Down to 22 below zero over night. Up to 10 above today. Wrapped gifts. Got bill for Robbins for furnace repairs this fall. $137.00. Stuart Haggerty and Lori Farrill married tonight at Philadelphia Methodist church.

Most of school closed because of bad weather. Windy. We went for groceries. Countryman’s gave us basket of fruit, 2 pens and 2 calendars. Sent them thank you card. Joey brought us cookies.

Nice today but cold, 20°. Some wind. Washed. Donna would be 40 today had she lived. Stormy in PM and evening. Cheryl brought us box of candy gift.

Christmas Eve Service at Evans Mills. We didn’t go. Stormed all day. Had our tree in evening. Kevin and Jennifer Drake brought us basket of sweets. Vernon’s and Jim Myer’s leave for Florida tomorrow by train.

We went to Jim’s. Audrey went with us. A sunny day but cold. Below zero all day. A nice day together. I was sick all night and had the chills. We went to 9:30 church service for both churches held at Philadelphia. Only 29 out. Very cold.

I feel much better today but still have a fever. Stormed hard all day. Linda got us milk at store.

Stormed all day but warmer. My arthritis bad today. Merrill went to bank and to Carthage to Gambles for electric starter for snow blower. Cost $109.54. Audrey called. Also Aunt Maude. Florence Hogaboom, 75, died of cancer.

We took down tree and Christmas decorations. Warmer but cloudy. Rebekah’s canceled. Freezing rain in evening. Jim and scouts leave for survival campout.

Florence Hogaboom, 75 funeral in Oswego. Merrill got snow blower going and cleaned driveway. Gary helped. Sun out by spells. Blowing snow. Great in PM and evening. We went for groceries in PM. McCormick’s Restaurant at Clayton burned. One of owners, age 29, died in fire, Mr. Dee.

Dr. Scanlon at 10:15. pressure is 17 in each eye. Terrible stormy going and coming. Nice when we left. Had test on disk (?) that they used on me in Kingston in 1975. Dr. Pinkerton sent in Medicare claim, $25.00. Jane Pauley is off Today show. Had twins. boy and girl.
