Jill enters hospital at 1:30. she is in a room with 2 other little girls. Patty called ab out 6:30. She just got home. Robbins put chimney back on center. Nice day but cooler.

Jill has operation. Tonsils and adenoids. She got back to her room about 1:30 PM. UMW District meeting at Evans Mills. I didn’t go. About 100 there. Called Jim in evening. Jim speaks for Joel’s school class. PPR Meeting at Mills, 7:30 Catherine Salisbury, Pulaski, candidate.

Merrill went with Horton to take Social Security paper to carthage. We went to hospital to see Jill. Took her a doll. Jill went home in evening. Several people called about church affairs. We saw Mrs. Hale. She was sedated.

Merrill helped at Horton’s. Didn’t get home until almost 6 PM. We went for groceries. Wrote Vern’s. Cold, 30’s. Darcy here with Girl Scout cookies. $1.50 a box this year. Elwood Gardner died this morning, 79 years.

Daylight saving time begins. Beautiful day. We went to church. Rev. Owen there to let folks know about our new woman minister. We went to Orv’s, Don’s and Jim’s. Had supper at Jim’s. Don has new truck and manure spreader.

Merrill to Hall’s to build fence. Terry wasn’t there so Merrill came home. he went to Mills first for gloves and window glass. Doris Haggerty called in evening to say Aunt Betty Haggerty is real bad. She went to Syracuse for a gall stone, but they discovered she has cancer of the pancreas.

Jim, Patty and Jill here for lunch. They got new lounge chair. They brought us there large lounge chair. Also a berry set they got free. I got yellow blazer from Wards. Carl Horton went to Upstate Hospital for back tests.

Aunt Maude has throat dilation. Betty Haggerty’s funeral, 2 PM at Methodist Church in Lowville. A very large funeral. We went to Winifred’s after funeral. A real warm, sunny day.

Mother and Daughter Banquet in new fire hall. Over 100 there. Catholic group and Tracy group sang. Patty and kids came. Joel stayed with Grandpa. Merrill worked at Horton’s in AM and Hall’s in PM. Got first letter from Mrs. Salisbury. We went for groceries.
