Fireman’s Field Days last night and today. We went to parade, 7 PM. Mike White played for dance. Merrill helped Hal most of day at Camp. Merrill finished mowing lawns. Nice day.

We went to church, 83 out. Jim, Pat, and kids came in PM. Patty broke her little toe on fireplace board in morning. Kenny, Brenda, and Jeff here for supper also. Cooked hot dogs and hamburgers on grill for first this year.

A beautiful day. We finished planting garden. I washed clothes. I was over to Louise Preston’s a few minutes. Merrill helped Howard in evening on tractor.

Merrill went to Hall’s to work at 6:30 AM. Fitted all day. Rained in late PM.

Clinic. Blood Pressure 140/80. Tax consultant there also. Mrs. Rossi from Office of Aging called. Merrill worked at Hall’s in PM. I washed sheets from upstairs beds.

UMW at Margaret Keichels. 15 present. Vi picked me up. Got letter from Vern’s. Dan has job picking berries. Hot and muggy all day, 85-90°. Merrill run cleaner. We got groceries in AM. Merrill went to Hall’s but Howard didn’t get oats sowed. Evelyn paid Merrill.

Mindy Kavanaugh and James Whitmore Jr. married tonight. Reception lasted until 5 AM. Swimming, very hot. Merrill mowed lawns. Washed clothes. Made cookies. Beulah went camping.

Lula Rappole went to hospital yesterday with massive hemorrhage. Very hot all day and evening. Hot and 93° all day.

Student day at church. Dwayne Watson in charge. Very good. Also Children’s Day. Cameron’s not there.

John Wayne, 72 died last night. Wrote Uncle Berl. We went to city. Went to Sackets for supper. Pat’s toe is coming fine. Got letter from June. Called Beulah from city.

Rebekah’s. Merrill worked in garden. Lula R still in coma. Roger left this morning. June Risdale called about FHA.

Flag Day. We went to city and signed papers for Risdale. They are changing from Seaway to FHA. Nice day. Did some shopping. Got groceries on way home. Set out marigolds by bird bath. Got B-12 shot.

Merrill made picnic table. He went to Mills and Theresa for shellac and 2X4’s for bench. I washed clothes all day. Bedding etc. Bathroom stuff and clothes.

Nice day. I’m very sore and lame. Did get bathroom cleaned. Carl Horton’s father Niles, 75, died last night. Mary K collected for flowers. Merrill cleaned church.

Father’s Day. We went to church. Honored graduates, 7. Beautiful sermon. Movie in evening but we didn’t go. Jim, Pat, and kids here for supper. Very hot. Vivian said Beulah H called her. Coming here Thursday evening.

Much colder and cloudy. Feel horrid. Didn’t sleep much. Cramps. Lula Rappole, 89, died about 11 AM. Merrill got hair cut. He called at Horton’s.

Washed clothes. Merrill washed car. He painted closet upstairs. Gas situation bad most places.

Wrote Vern’s. Rebekah’s went to funeral home for Lula. Merrill and Bill Mower went. Merrill drove. We stopped at Ruth and Clarence Schell’s on way home.

PNG’s go to North Country Inn, Theresa, 14 there and Cheryl. Cheryl and Esther and Betty drove. Lula’s funeral at 11 AM. Merrill bearer. Rebekah service. large funeral. Beulah H came home from dinner with me. [for overnight] Got graduation invitation from Cindy and Ethan.

Rained all night and in morning. Badly needed. Lazy day. Visited all day with Beulah. Got graduation invitation from Lisa B.

Colder and rainy. We talked, rested, and ate all day. No work done. Several people called.

Lisa’s graduation party. We didn’t go. Went to church. Eunice Schell gave conference report. No sermon. Went for ride in PM. Cold in morning. Sun out in PM.

We got new car battery at Sears, $51.99. Took Beulah to Bay to see Pauline Giltz in hospital. Called Beulah and Patty. Vern’s called in evening. He didn’t get Dean job. They are flying to Florida the 3rd.

June’s 41st birthday. Washed clothes. Warmer. We sat outside some. Geneva called Beulah from Florida. Got insurance policy, $173. Up $17.

Rebekah’s go to Snack Bar after Lodge. 15 out. Beulah went to Lodge with me. She went to Lois’ from Lodge. Merrill worked at Howard’s. Thunder and lightning during night.

Dr. Scanlon, 8:30 AM. Examined my eyes for wide and narrow angle. Glaucoma test with bubble filled with water. Pressure 15 in each eye, $20. Rainy. We have a dead mouse in car somewhere. Merrill went to work at Hall’s when we got home.

My arms are very lame today. Washed Beulah’s bedding. We went for groceries.

Called several about CEC business. We worked at CEC most of afternoon. All ready for school to move in. Vivian and Don Myers, 40th anniversary open house but we didn’t go.

Church starts at 9:30. 71 out. Jim, Pat, and kids here for supper and PM. Linda Belile on two weeks reserve training at Fort Drum.

School moves into CEC. Sent Merrill’s accident insurance, $30, North American. Merrill mowed lawns. Washed clothes. We got letter from Grace Matheene. She is in Wolcott. Mother’s mind real bad. Called Vern’s in evening.

Wrote Grace M. Vern, June, and boys left for Florida on 12:05 flight out of Syracuse. Merrill’s Social Security raised $18.70. I went over to Lois’ to say good bye to Beulah. She goes to Clayton today.

B-12 shot. We went to city and up to city park. Put battery in my watch, $1.75. Got white slacks. Merrill got new work shoes, $18. Got iron pills at Fays. We went to Fiddlers Contest at Antwerp in evening. Very good. $2. Hank played.

Very cold. Snowing on Whiteface Mountain. Rained on and off during day. Lazy day. I called for appointment with Dr. Roberts.

Got groceries in PM. Made cookies. Linda B home from Reserve Training tonight. She has her arm in sling. Cool all day long.

Merrill cleaned floors. Went to dump. Sent Ethan and Cindy $10 check for graduation. Warmer today. Linda used my clothesline.

Communion. 75 out. Jim, Pat, and kids here for picnic cook out. They brought everything with them. Tasted so good.

Vern’s are at Disneyworld today. Sent Jolie card and $5. Washed clothes. A beautiful day. 85°. Howard here in evening for battery charger.

Dr. Roberts at 11 AM. All OK. Have to have CBC August 1st. El said Peggy expected baby any day. Will give it up for adoption. Jolie’s 8th birthday. Went to Brenda’s to see new silo. Stopped at Ken’s, Don’s and Marg’s. Had supper with Marg and Roy. Went to see their new home.

Wrote Angie. Vern’s got home from Florida. Mrs. Cameron brought us berries in evening. Sky lab landed in the Atlantic Ocean safely.

Merrill worked in garden. We got groceries. Vern’s called in evening. They had a good trip. Had picnic supper outside.

Friday the 13th. Very hot. Nice. Washed clothes. Merrill took out steps in back room. Have to paint it. Jim’s picture and Explorer group in Dateline Paper tonight. Patty called.

Very hot. We went to Nicholas and to Sackets. Merrill helped Jim put on plywood on roof. There for supper. Jolie had party. Got paint for laundry room. Talked with Ron Bechard in evening.

Went to church. Had a lazy day at home. Sat in back yard most of day. Very hot and humid. In the 90’s.

Washed. Merrill mowed lawns. Much cooler in evening. Ruth Hoover called to invite Merrill to Senior Citizen meeting.

Church meeting about windows. Decided just to repair and put outside covering on one back window. Wrote Vern’s. Merrill made bedroom window screen. Got $18 check from Blue Cross. Beulah Hall’s 83rd birthday.

Got back tax refund for $151.87. Got car inspected. Merrill shellaced picnic table. Worked at wiring in laundry room.

Merrill went down to Risdale’s to splice rope. We cleaned laundry room. Merrill painted it beige color. Looks nice and clean.
