Cleaned. Washed Joel’s clothes and Merrill’s work coats and rugs. Cold and windy. Wrote Marg Beach at Mercy, broken arm. I finished income tax. Merrill paid $63.40.

Palm Sunday. We went to church. Took Joel. Marty Rudes son baptized. Also Judy Van Tassel and Huntress baby girl. 97 out to church. Ground covered with snow in morning when we got up. Jim, Pat and girls got back at 9:15 PM.

Wilson’s on Bechard farm auction. Jim and Merrill went to city. Merrill got work shoes at $16.95 at Apex store. Washed clothes. Sent income tax. Merrill paid $63.40 Social Security.

Gladys Simonds farm auction. Patty’s doctor appointment. Lynn butchered our beef, $10. Patty goes into hospital May 4th. Jim’s got new Dodge Aspen station wagon at Goshen’s at Adams. I feel punk today.

Rebekah’s entertain staff, 6:30 supper. I made Rickety Uncle cookies. 14 present. Jim, Patty and kids went back to Sackets to stay. Beautiful day. Took down stairway curtains.

Wrote Vern’s and Mom. Merrill went to Philadelphia to mail them. Took off porch storm doors. Got note from Mrs. Beardsley. Jim’s came in evening for rest of their stuff. Had their new car. We didn’t go to communion service at Mills church.

I went to Philadelphia for groceries. Got Lily plant from MYF $6.50. I cleaned porch. 75° today. Sure hot. Merrill built fence. We went to church in evening. Very good, about 50 out. Got card from Vern’s.

Have felt terrible all day. Cleaned floors. Still hot, 80°. Washed my hair. Lynn took beef to Fikes cooler, $5 a week.

Easter Sunday, 90°. I went to Cantata at 9 AM. Too sick to go to church. Merrill went to church. Good crowds to both. Jim’s here for supper. They did most of work for me. Vern called. He goes to Iowa Monday.

B-12 shot. Still hot, 80°. Nice breeze. I went to Marilyn’s for shot in PM. Washed clothes. Lloyd’s got dead cow. Merrill built fence. Vern goes to DeMoine Iowa. PNG’s here in evening, 11 out. Esther and I had cheese, crackers, and heavenly hash.

I don’t feel so good today. Not so hot. Cut up beef at Marilyn’s. Nine of us worked at it. Jim’s got half of it. Patty brought out stuff for supper. Sure tasted good. I wrapped over 100 pounds of hamburg in evening. Freezer full.

Still hot, 75°. Rained in evening. Thunder lightning. Wrote June and boys. Sure feel lazy today. Merrill built fence.

Much cooler today. Our hot weather is over. My arms are very lame today. Not in evening. Nancy and Morris Matt have a baby girl.

Boots and I went to Philadelphia for groceries. Merrill got hair cut. I went down to see Mrs. Beardsley. She’s not too good.

Susan Haggerty’s shower. I didn’t go as I didn’t feel good. I cut out and started blue sewing outfit. Washed my hair. Merrill tried to fix yard light but ladder wasn’t long enough. Paid Lynn $30 for butchering.

Fast time again, 2 AM. We went to church, 86 out. Adult baptism this PM. We went out to Mom’s. Juanita at her mother’s burial in Potsdam. Stopped at Fays for eye drops. Got white sneakers, $2.99. Called Ken’s from Mom’s. Jim called in evening. Girls have chicken pox.

Wrote Uncle Berl. Snowing in morning. Broke up bread for dressing for Lodge supper. Rained all day and melted snow that came. Merrill and Boots went to Agway. Got letter from Mrs. Beardsley.

Raining. I went to Bible Study with Ruth, Ellen J, and Pearl Payne. Got long letter from June. Jim, Pat and kids here in PM and supper. Patty gave me a Tip Toni permanent. Cheryl brought $50 check from Catholics for CEC.

Rained all day. I didn’t go to Lodge. Haven’t felt good all day. Broke up bread for dressing. Sent thank you to Catholic Religious Organization for youth.

UMW District meeting at Asbury. I went with Esther Lacs [?] Lula, Mrs. Cameron, Vi and Marilyn. Rebekah’s Dutch Maid supper for Leah. I made dressing and worked in kitchen, 60 there.

Renewed American Agriculturist for 4 years with Edwin Stone agent. Nice day. Merrill built fence. Boots and I went to Philadelphia for groceries.

Rained about all day. I worked at blue and white dress and jacket. Only hand work to do yet. I haven’t felt good all day.

We went to church, 75 out. We went for ride to Oxbow in PM. Jim’s came for supper and evening.

Cloudy and rainy. I put pockets on dress jacket. Cleaned house.

UMW at Martha’s. Marg M showed Holy Land slides. I didn’t go. Didn’t go to Bible Study. We went to Sackets for girls. Jim took Jolie for her entrance tests for school in AM. Patty couldn’t get into hospital.

Patty goes to hospital today. Merrill mowed front lawn for first this year in evening. Vern called. Aunt Maude and Mrs. Cameron called in evening. Rained hard and very windy during night. Aunt Maude said Aunt Keitha is in hospital, Mercy, for her blood.

Jim called in morning. Patty went to hospital yesterday, room 443. New part. Rained all day. I washed clothes. Made cookies. Wrote Mother Tryon. Donna Brancatella picked for 4-H Ottawa trip.

FFA Banquet. I furnished coffee. 4-H in evening, Fruit Delights lesson II. Jim here in PM and for supper. Called Mom in evening. Patty had her gall bladder operation today. She is in a lot of pain. Are giving her morphine. Jolie and I went to Philadelphia. I got B-12 shot at Marilyn’s.

Party at Legion for Ivan Hales 80th birthday. We didn’t go. We went to see Mrs. Beardsley. Took her yellow mum plant. She gave us a Scripture quilt she made. Merrill mowed 2 lawns. Linda L rode in 4-H bike-a-thon. Called Patty. She answered phone. Still has a lot of pain.

Mother’s Day. We all went to church. Had 5 baptisms. We went out to hospital to see Patty. She still has a lot of pain. Looks good. Still getting IV. Aunt Maude went to Syracuse to see her sister.

Mother and Daughter Banquet. Good turn out. Marilyn had program. I didn’t go. Girls and I too tired. Merrill and Jolie built fence. Great day. Jill outside an hour in AM. Jolie went to Mills and Philadelphia. Jim and Pat’s 7th anniversary. Gave $5 and card.

I didn’t go to Bible Study. Jim and Joel here. Joel has chicken pox. Jim took him for check up. He weighs 15 pounds. 3 months old the 13th. Merrill got new spot light for pole. He and Jolie went to Theresa. Called Jim.

We took girls to hospital to see Patty. Julie came home with Jim. He had supper here. Nice day but cold. Went to Fays for iron pills. Got flag. Got pair of bed pillows, @ $2.99.

Sent Patty birthday card and $5. Wrote Mom. Girls and I went to Philadelphia for groceries. Merrill plowed garden. Washed clothes. Merrill put up spot light on pole but it won’t work. I called Bob Griffin about parsonage wiring. Jill has sniffles.

I talked with Claude W about parsonage wiring. We gave Cheryl go ahead to get Gordon Smiley to do it. Cloudy. Jolie has cold. Jill’s better. Girls got letter from Patty. Donna B left on Ottawa trip at 7 AM.

Patty’s 28th birthday. A great day after a heavy fog in morning. Merrill mowed all 3 lawns. I cleaned house. Washed clothes. I’m real lame and tired. Girls played outside. Their colds are better. Got note from Vern’s.

Merrill went to church. Jolie and I made Patty birthday cake. Jim brought Patty and Joel to stay. They brought us a real nice Norelco coffee maker, 12 cup.

Merrill got 62 bales of hay at Lynn Hall’s. Nice day. Jim left for Police Convention at 7 AM from Sackets. In Monticello, NY. Got note from June. Vern’s cough no better. PNG at Martha’s. I didn’t go. Got letter from Mr. Ball about stove for parsonage.

Rainy and cold. Washed clothes.

Snow flurries. Cold and rainy. Jim, Pat, and Jolie left for Sackets about 6:30 for night. Girls and I went for groceries. Jim got back from Police Convention about 3:15 PM.

Raining all day. Water everywhere. Jim, Pat, and Jolie got back about 3. Jolie had to go to school for an hour. Jim took her.

Finally not raining. Called Mr. Ball about stove and wiring. Washed my hair. Patty rolled it. Bill, Brenda, Mark, Billy, and Bobby Jo (foster child) here in evening. They have large truck.

Susan Haggerty and Charles Randall’s wedding. We went. Lovely wedding and reception. Church full. Jim came out here from work at 4 AM. Merrill got another load of hay.

Merrill, Jolie and I went to church. Jim got here about 12:30. Vern, June and boys came about 2 PM. Surprised us. Left about 6. Elgin Bowman called from Hammond.

Administrative Board meeting, 13 there. Merrill and I went. Jim and Patty took Jill into emergency room about midnight with croup. Baby has cold also.

Jill better than last night. Jim and Jolie went to city for medicine. Merrill, Jolie and Boots and I went to Philadelphia. Merrill mowed lawns. Got check for hay from Payne’s. Wrote Mom.

Beautiful day. Real warm. I planted flower seeds by flag pole. Red marigolds. Jim and Pat went for ride to Payne Lake, Oxbow. Merrill has cold. Rebekah’s entertained IOOF but we didn’t go.

Patty’s check up. Merrill took her out. Everything OK. She goes back the 14th. Jolie and I planted zinnias. Jim called.

B-12 shot. We went to city to Grossman’s and got toilet for parsonage, $41.27. Jim here for supper. He took girls for ride on go cart car. A great summer day. Merrill worked at garden again. Got garden seeds.

Another nice day. Planted dahlia’s. Jim here for supper. We cleaned the floors. Lorraine, Mrs. Brancatella, Tina, and Tony here. Jim brought cabbage and tomato plants.
