Lee Hall hooked up dishwasher. Works swell. Merrill made stove hood, $1.40. Ken and Peggy Lamics’s 3 year old baby girl Lisa died of pneumonia. Got letter from June & Vern.

WSCS at Leah Simonds. Mary and I went. Mary and I went to city. She went to Dr. Grace. Marg, kids and I went to Theresa funeral home to Lisa Lamic’s wake, age 3. 17 below at 1:00 pm. Cold all day.

Sent income tax. $201.83. Made 6 pies and 6 dozen cookies. I went to World Day of Prayer service in evening. About 40 there. Wrote Jim and sent Valentines.

Got long, very nice letter from Jim. He is working with kids on base as gun instructor. We went to city for groceries. Got blanket for baby at a Gold Bond store. Called mom. Wrote Mother Tryon.

A very stormy day. Schools closed. Terrible wind. Howard Hall sent milk to plant for first. Merrill put doors on cupboards. Home demonstration at Martha’s canceled. Philadelphia Town Hall burned at 4:30.

Sent Good Housekeeping magazine for June, 1 year. Wrote Jim and Vern’s. Went to Philadelphia and Theresa. Got hair cut. 4-H at Grahams but I didn’t go. Started sewing. Cold in evening.

Rebekahs. I didn’t go. Vi, Martha, Jeffrey and I went to Vern and June’s for diner. Nice day. No mail.

Vern called about 9 am to say they had a baby boy, Daniel Vernon, 8 pounds, 7 ounces. born about 8 am. Just 19 minutes after June got to hospital. Merrill brought me to Kens. Vern came there. Went to hospital to see June.

Shower for Brenda Rudes at Nancy Ronas. Very stormy day in Oswego. Cleaned, washed, and ironed. Didn’t go to see June tonight. Vern went to see her in afternoon.
