New phone number starts today. Midway 2-5511. Vernon started work at Farrell’s for 2 weeks. Past Grands here tonight. Eva Delles & I had them. 14 present. Got pictures back.

I took Vernon’s car to Gouverneur to have some work done on it. Merrill & I went to Enos at Burrville. Merrill got corn planter $125.00. Boys went to Antwerp & got hair cuts.

Wrote Uncle Berle. We planted garden. Swell day. I went to city to sign for unemployment. Washed clothes. They brought corn planted. Jim worked for Howard in evening. Vernon went up to see Claude Bechard.

Thunder storm. Terrible rain. Uncle Rays, Merrill, Jim, & I, went out home in evening to see Carrie Janack, Edie & Floyd Wallace from Michigan. Got home at 12:45. I took Vernon’s car to Gouverneur to get door handle put on.

Wrote Vern. We went to Antwerp & up to Kuchles in evening. Swell day. We went to city in AM. Bought 3 piece sectional. $199.95. Jim got work shoes. Size 10 $7.98. Washed. Worked in garden.

Uncle Earle’s funeral. Huge funeral. About 30 to 40 cars in procession. Rained in morning but cleared for burial service. Vernon came to funeral home from school. Jim went to Philadelphia in evening. Lost his wrist watch.

Merrill worked at Thompson’s. Rained during night so he couldn’t hay it. Jim & Marty went to city on bus. I went after them. We went to Black River to drive in. Got home at 2:00 AM.
