We went to city in AM. Got clothes hamper with S&H Green stamps. Got new beige hat. Washed, painted boys room. Merrill & Jim got hair cuts at Theresa. No Mail.

We went to church. Stopped at Leah’s & got beige bag. Two sets of twins were baptized today. Smith’s & McKeever’s. Painted floor in boy’s room.

Merrill went to lodge. I baked cookies & pies. Edna & I went down town at noon.

Hurt my foot on cart at shop. Edna & I went down town at noon.

Jim got out for vacation.

Vern got home for vacation. Got letter from Mom. Nice day. Merrill & I had second polio shots. Stopped at Leah’s. She gave me pie.

Grand day. Like summer. Second week of Ann’s club. Edna & I went down town. Rented Vernon typewriter @ $2.50 a week.

Beautiful warm day. Vernon’s appointment with Dr. Kelsey. Had 2 teeth filled. $7.00. Merrill, Jim, & I went to city. Got ceiling tile & kitchen light. Zina McKeever & Merlin Shorkey married today.

Easter Sunday. We all went to church. Went out home for dinner. Dorland’s were there also.

Grand day. Men tore plaster off kitchen. Some mess. Aunt Til Walts died at 6:30 PM. 83 years old.

Men worked at kitchen. Edna & I went down town at noon. I got new round kitchen light. $11.49.

Warm & cloudy. Merrill & I went to Theresa funeral home to see Aunt Til. Called Aunt Esther.

Aunt Matilda Walts funeral. We didn’t go. Men got a lot done on kitchen.

Merrill & Vernon started Rappole’s porch.

4-H here. 9 boys & 6 adults. Took car to Gouverneur to have tire changed & tailpipe put on. Merrill & Vernon worked on Rappole’s porch.

Took Vern back to Utica. Our first trip there. Nice day. Stopped at Uncle Len’s but no one home.

Merrill started fitting ground for first.

Howard & Evelyn have baby boy. Jeffrey Lynn. 8 pounds & 2 ounces born yesterday.

I went to blood bank. Got new gas lawn mower at Sears. $76.98. Nice but cold wind.

Virginia, Edna, Frances, & I, went to Howard’s for fish fry. Mom, Dad, Eleanor, Roberta, & Brenda were here when I got home. Uncle Ray & Aunt Maude were down in evening.

Evelyn Hall & baby came home today. The 4-H boys went to Jefferson County Jail. Jim went with Helen K. Mom, Dad, Eleanor, & girls left at 2:00 PM. Jim mowed yard for first this year & first time with new mower.

Kind of tired today but worked all day.

Edna Knapp’s son-in-laws were in accident. She didn’t work today. Swell day.

Mother & Daughter banquet but I didn’t go. I went over to Evelyn’s to see Jeffrey for first.

Merrill finished planting oats. 17 1/2 acres. I went to lodge.

Beautiful day. Edna, Virginia, Rosie, Frances, & I, went to Morgia’s for pizza at noon.

Raining. Sure needed it. Sent Mother’s day cards. Wrote Vern.

Got beautiful card from Vern. Jim went to Junior Prom. His first date. (Janice Walts) Got her rose corsage. Painted bedroom down stairs.

Mother’s Day. Finished cleaning downstairs bedroom. Aunt Cora & Uncle Charlie were here for supper.

Washed clothes in evening. Jim missed bus so didn’t go to school. Merrill went to lodge.

Edna & I went down town at noon. I had my hair cut & set at Joan’s in evening. Took her a blouse.

Rained all day. Merrill & I went to Theresa in evening. Got two cotton skirts.

Cold all day. Merrill cut some wood.

Bad frost last night. Jennie flew to Cleveland this morning. Cold all day. Dot Oakes & I went down town at noon. Got letter from Mom. Merrill worked at Louie’s.

Turned cows out for first days & nights both. Painted living room. Went to Theresa & Antwerp. Jim got 4 blue spruce trees at Great Bend. Merrill worked at Rappole’s.

Set out 4 blue spruce trees. Put fabulon on living room floor. Raining in PM.

Put another coat of fabulon on floor. Merrill went to lodge. Kessel & Grace have baby girl. Pauline Ann. 8 pounds.

Got furniture back in living room.

I went to lodge. Muggy today.

Got curtains up in living room. Wrote Mom. Rained hard on way home. Got hassock from Mary O’Brien’s club.

Got out early & went to Dr. Roberts for check up. Have stone in throat gland. Got dictionary from club.

Swell day. 72°. Merrill worked at Rappole’s all week. Washed. Marty Rudes, Terry Chamberline, R. Lamoy, & Wesley G., were here to see Jim. I went to Philadelphia to get garden seeds.

We went to church. Rainy. Merrill & I painted in kitchen in PM.

Had break fluid put in brakes. Cold today. Merrill worked at Rappole’s

Edna & I went down town at noon. Ordered kitchen window at Whites.

Edna & I ate lunch at Tuflo’s. Got gift for Virginia. Nice day but cool. Got letter from Vern.

Virginia Plantz’ birthday. Roy & Marg were here for supper. Planted garden. Also flowers.
